This beer will be a big strong ale with character, not to mention all the malt body we can pack in.

Sometimes I have the romantic notion of trying a beer from all 50 states; the way things are going, I'll never escape the labyrinth of CA beers. Not that I'm complaining. This strong ale is another winner from this fabulous state. This beer pours with a tiny, thin, tan head like little soap bubbles, which immediately disappears. Deep amber in color with some red tints. Smells really nice, sweet. A really full robust flavor. Nice bitterness, and some caramel and chocolate to boot. You can taste the alcohol in it, but it isn't overwhelming. I like the Arrogant Bastard from Stone a bit more, but damn if this one isn't close on its heels.

Pours wtih an amber body topped by a thin head with some lacing. It’s slighty sweet and malty with a slight caramel note and an underlying piney hoppiness. Well balanced. Full bodied, smooth and a touch warming.

This American Strong Ale pours a deep amber color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity and sweet, caramel and chocolate. A medium bodied American Strong Ale. Malts are dark fruits, caramel with some chocolate, some brown sugar and molasses. Hops are floral and earthy. Has a touch of spices, mostly cinnamon. A touch of alcohol bite, but not too bad. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
