another well blanced winner from brew it up. nothing really stands out, but its a prototype barleywine...everything you could ask for. carmelly sweetness? check. great body? check. warming without being hot? check. just enough hops here to temper the alcohol and sweetness for a bitterness finish. brought this one home too.

Dark brown color. Small head. Aroma is fruity and malty and a touch sweet. A medium bodied barley wine. Malts are nutty and sweet. Hops are mild and slightly piney. Well balanced. Little to no carbonation leads to a somewhat dead mouthfeel. Hides the 10.5% alcohol well. Smooth tasting, very middle of the road barleywine. Not bad, but nothing to make it stand out from 100s of others either. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
