Nestled in the Northern Bridger Mountain Range, The Great One beckons intrepid skiers and riders during the very early and very late sections of Montana’s winter. A consistently pitched, north facing couloir carved out of uplifted and tilted layers of rock, The Great One provides a perfect venue for steep turns even in the middle of summer. This reminds us that winter never truly departs from Southwest Montana, it just hides for a couple of months! The beer challenges the taste buds as the couloir challenges the legs with unrelenting intensity. Pale, Munich, Crystal 15, 40, 75 and 120 malts give this brew a colossal body, while a massive addition of Amarillo and Simcoe hops provide substantial bitterness. Amarillo and Simcoe are employed again for the post fermentation dry hopping, which lends a bouquet of floral and fruity notes. Cheers! 2007 and 2008 NABA Bronze Medal Winner
