The Belgian Tripel style originated in the Monasteries of Belgium around the 16th century; they’re brewed to a higher gravity and higher hopping rate than other Belgian ales, but with a much lighter color than a Dubbel or Quad. Complex spicy character and luscious candy sweetness are the hallmarks of this beer. A dry finish with a subtle hop bite rounds out the experience. The Third Virtue cuts through the south wall of Hidden Gully in the Bridger Mountains. A north facing, steep, technical shot that drops into a narrow chute depositing you in the gut of Hidden Gully where you will be met by copious amounts of powder. The name is both a nod towards the monastic origins of the style and our own affinity for deep gnarlyness. The Third Cardinal Virtue is Fortitude, something which will be needed when drinking the beer or riding the line!
