Baby, it’s cold outside – come in and cozy up with our antidote to winter. Our first Barleywine, this big, bold beer features complex layers of caramel malt for an intense, warming presence. A liberal dose of spicy, piney American hops balances the blend, giving way to sweet, lingering notes of rum and raisin.

    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9

Caged and corked 750mL bottle pours with a clear ruby red mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up malts ,molasses, a thin hit of brown sugar, plum and fig. The taste delivers fairly smooth slick malt sweetness, molasses infused plum and some dates. To midway the molasses picks up a mild date like earthy and spiciness that's working well here. Into the finish a mild sense of brown sugar also bubbles to the surface along with a well restrained booziness. This is pretty solid. May need to get some cellared. 12 months maybe.

    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

Pours clear sepia that lets in more daylight at the bottom and has a thick, persistent buff head. Aroma yields caramel, sweet roast malt, an earthy and spicy undertone. Flavor presents caramel, roast malt, earthy, evergreen, hints of clove and cinnamon, and a bit of dark fruit - and an alcohol bite that warns you this is a potent brew! Texture provides peppy fizz and smooth, fairly firm body. Bundle up with one.
