This red wine barrel-aged Imperial Stout was brewed to celebrate our 10th Anniversary. As we looked back on all the tears we cried, sweat we gave and laughter we’ve shared, we felt this beer was the best way to sum it all up. Aged in French oak barrels, this beer has been creating memories of its own. Layers of chocolate malt, espresso, and caramelized apple drift up from the glass with a slight sourness on your tongue that begs you to have another sip.

i’d sure like to try the tap version as it seems they are totally different beers (based on rb reviews). only one of the four previous reviews even mentioned the word sour and that is the predominant characteristic of this beer, overshadowing all stout qualities in the beer. overall it’s kinda cool, but i was really hoping for more of a stout. this is vinous and sour, especially in thenose, with a touch of chocolate malt, and no sign of the 81 ibu worth of hops. is it spontaneously fermented in the wine barrels? why so sour. as it is, not the best imperial stout, or the best sour, so it’s scored as such. ok - but not worth the $10
