This haunting Strong Ale is brewed with English pale and specialty malts and molasses, then matured in freshly emptied brandy barrels and conditioned with mission figs. It's gently spiced with Ceylon cinnamon and whole nutmeg and further aged with English stock wild yeast.

This was released at the Portland Holiday Ale Festival, where I had it on day 2. Yellow, tan color head and a dark brown beer. Really neat sweet fig and spice aroma. Medium-full body with some alcohol presence, but hey, it's 11% abv. Flavor is very unique because of the real figs used in the batch. The spices are also wonderful, with other dark fruit flavors and very little bitterness. Nicely put together. Wish I could have more.
