Perfectly balanced is rarely a term one hears when speaking of craft beer, but 80 Shilling is the best of all worlds. Medium alcohol, not too hoppy, not too malty, not dark, not yellow. It's just...Perfect.

Poured up on tap at the brewery where it exhibits a clear copper to light amber colored body that supports an off white head. The aroma is on the soft side and offers up modest levels of earthy wet tobacco, a mineral sort of spiciness and a sense of malts in the background. That earthy tobacco note is really inviting. The taste doesn’t disappoint as it has soft smooth smoky earthy tobacco sort of notes swirling over a thin pool of yeasty to spicy to mineral like notes. These are all supported by a light malty body that has plenty of snap and surprising crispness and ending on the dry side. Wow. This is just so damn easy drinking.
