Nice color on this brew, good aroma's and flavor was good.Of the four or five scotch ales i have had this was my favorite one. I could easily drink a second one of these. I next will attempt to find more about the ingredients used in the beer.

Coca-cola body with a thick cap that leaves a little bit of lace. Aromas os sweet sticky malts, and incredibly faint alcohol. Mouth is a bit thin and sticky, carbonation is ok. Flavors of cola, malts, and some earth. Overall its a bit on the light side the aromas and flavors arent bold enough, but its an easy to drink scotch ale.

I randomly tried this beer at the Green Dragon in Portland last week. I've only had a few beers from Montana before, and never from this brewery. It had a weak grainy malt and hop aroma. Decent lacing, bronze color and clear. Light-medium body and simple. A plain beer but not bad.

12oz bottle. Pours a copper brown with a medium light tan head that retains well and leaves some lacing.
The aroma is subdued - peaty caramel malts with a little fruit and perfume.
The flavor is sweet caramel/toffee malts and a touch of fruit with some smoky peat and a dry lightly bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, a solid Scotch ale - not my favorite style.
