I den græske mytologi er Erebus personificeringen af mørket. Navnet inspirerede mig til at prøve at brygge en mørk øl efter en utraditionel metode. Derfor blev Erebus brygget på udelukkende lyse malte og efterfølgende tilført farve og smag med et 24 timers koldtvandsudtræk af chokolade malt samt en masse hjemmekogt kandissukker. Resultatet er en helt mørkebrun øl med masser af karamel og chokolade smag, men uden de ristede og brændte nuancer der ofte er associeret med mørke øl. Optimalt set bør Erebus nydes ved 14-18 grader i et tungt bowleglas foran en blussende pejs - men i en snæver vending kan et let ridset sommerhusglas med Lalandia motiv og et afsnit af The Office på DVD-afspilleren også bruges. Erebus er brygget i et lille oplag på ca. 1000 flasker.

    Bottled@The Chriso Gaylord tasting. Amber colour with mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts along with some notes of red berries, chocolate, coffee and some dark dry fruits. Flavour is bready and caramel malts along with some dark dry fruits, mild nuttyness as well as some berries.
