Sampled on 9/2/2012. This wild ale pours a dark brown color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, sweet, tart and funky. A medium bodied sour/wild ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy. Nice carbonation. Some wood, some grapes, some funk and a whole lot of tart. There is a whole lot going on here. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly tart.

3500 baby! This sour ale was significantly sour and acidic, as most of Avery's sours have been. Dark malts and all kinds of barrel complexity, all complementing the base beer. Some vinous notes from the red wine, and more bourbon presence than the others, though I'm sure we'd be able to tell if they were absent.
