From what a Gaijin like myself can gather, this is heavily advertised to be something of a more elite (Milder? More refined?) version of the standard Asahi beer. While I have to admit that this is indeed pretty drinkable – went quite well with the jumbo-sized cup of cheap ramen noodles I got at the Lawson around the corner from my hotel – I don’t really understand what the big hype is about with this one. Basic and rather average across the board. I could see drinking this all night long, if I was stuck in a Karaoke bar with a bunch of drunken Japanese buying me beers (hey, it’s happened before…), but otherwise, this isn’t anything to get very excited about.
