Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a murky mahogany colored body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up winter spices, vanilla, sweet smelling plums and dates and figs and then mild soft notes of oak and bourbon. The taste delivers smooth sweet soft rich malts, molasses, vanilla, dates and figs. It tries to dry out to midway but is met by soft smooth sweet bourbon nuanced oak notes. Whoa. A smooth supple rich sipper. Yes. More sips and the bourbon, oak and booze become a little more noticeable. Yum. Well played.
