Pint can pours with a deep dark chocolate mahogany colored body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up booze, dark roasted coffee, dark roasted malts, a vague sweetness wrapped around a sliver of chocolate malts. Another whiff brings up a layer of dark roasted coffee infused chocolate fudge. The bit of sweetness going on here must be the maple but it isn't coming across as maple though. The taste delivers kind of a thin boozy palate where notes of dark roasted coffee, a bit of dark roasted malts, a healthy boozy kick and sweet and modestly maple notes all converge and meander to midway. Into the finish a cash of dark chocolate fudge bubbles to the surface to balance against the boozy heat. Nice but comes across a little thin. I do enjoy the balance of the base beer and the treatment.
