We were lucky enough to get some bourbon barrels from our friends at Breckenridge Distillery in Colorado and just had to try aging our American Barleywine in a few of them.

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7
330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 13.2%. Cloudy brown colour, thick sediment in the bottle, lots of disgusting floaties in the glass. Small off-white to beige head. Aroma of raw alcohol, bourbon and oak, also notes of vanilla, caramel and dark dried fruits. Sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, also distinct and quite sharp bittering hops, probably also some bitterness from dead yeast cells.
