Pours a deep sable just a whisker above jet black with a nice tan head. Smoky aroma has molasses, caramel, cloves and nutty notes. Bold flavor rolls woody, malty, nutty, toffee, molasses, semi-sweet chocolate and horehound notes across the palate. Each sip seems just a little different. Mouthfeel, though, seems a tad thin and lacking in fizz. We’ll, if the texture is the weakest aspect, big deal. Storm this, beer trooper!
