101 | Achel Blond 8 | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Purchased at Liquor Control Board of Ontario store. Is this a tripel, or a blonde BSA, who knows? It pours a clouded medium gold colour with a rocky white head. The aroma is spice, yeast, citrus, and grains. The flavour is dominated by the grains and the citrus, but the yeast is ever present in the background. |

102 | Abbaye des Rocs Grand Cru | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.9
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 Purchased at Liquor Control Board of Ontario store. This is just an excellent beer. A nice dark brown pour with a generous foaming brown head. Lots of dark fruit and roastiness in the aroma with ample notes of caramel and yeast. Everything comes out in the taste though, with jthe dark fruits band caramel dominating. |

103 | Abbaye des Rocs Triple Imperiale | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 Tried at a bar. This looks, feels, and tastes like an enhanced version of the brune, and that’s not a bad thing. It pours a deep dark brown with red edges and a light brown cap. Plums and raisins dominate the nose with yeast, roasted malt, and caramel in the mix. Flavour is sweet up front with notes of fruit and malt with a bitter finish and a mild yeastiness. |

104 | Barbar Belgian Honey Ale / Barbar Blonde | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Not sure if this contains actual honey or not. It pours a deep gold colour with a thin white cap. The aroma is quite grainly with notes of spices, especially coriander and pepper. There is no noticeable alcohol in the nose or palate despite the 8% ABV. Flavour is noticeable spice with grain notes and a touch of malty sweetness. |

105 | LeFebvre Hopus | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 A recent find at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario branch store. A cloudy gold colour with a generous white cap. The aroma is mainly cereal malt, yeast, and some notes of floral hops. The flavour is grainly with hints of yeast, citrus, and spices. Not as hoppy as the name would indicate, but a pretty good beer nonetheless. |

106 | Biere du Boucanier Blonde Ale | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 A very strong beer and the alcohol is noticeable in both the aroma and the flavour. A clouded medium gold pour with a weak white cap. The aroma is dominated by malt and yeast with the alcohol overpowering the spices and yeast. Flavour is grains and alcohol with the yeast and spices secondary. |

108 | Biere du Boucanier Red Ale | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Part of an annual Christmas pack available at the LCBO. This pours a slightly less red than the Dark, although the head tends to be larger. The aroma is slightly fruity with notes of ropasted malt, caramel, and yeast. RThe flavour is like the aroma, with a very bitter long lasting aftertaste. |

110 | Belhaven Best | United Kingdom | Bitter | 3.0
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 One needs to be in the mood for a British beer at times, and when I first had this, I was really in the mood, but future visits have proben disappointing. Clear copper in colour with a thinnish off-white head. Aroma is caramel, grains, and floral hops. Flavour is dominated by the caramel notes with some off-tastes present if you look for them. |

112 | Wellington Arkell Best Bitter | Canada | Bitter | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Arkell is an area south of Guelph that managed to get a beer named after them. Not a lot of people live there, and similarly, not a lot of complexity to this beer, but then, it’s an English Bitter so that’s no surprise. The beer pours a dark gold colour with brown hints, very light for a Bitter, with a thin foamy white head. Aroma is nutty with hints of floral hops and caramel. Flavour is quite malty with notes of caramel, and a bitter hop finish. If Arkell was bigger, maybe they could brew a better bitter. |

113 | Scotch Irish Session Ale / Scotch Irish Dry Hop Border Bitter | Canada | Bitter | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Today, a session ale means it’s probably a low ABV IPA or APA, but back in the day it referred to a well made flavourful English Bitter. This is lighter in colour than most British bitters coming in at a light to medium gold with a good sized off-white cap topping it all off. Floral hops, some clean caramel notes and light fruity notes comprise the aromatic component. Flavour is here is spades when compared to light lagers with notes of caramel and toffee leading to a citrusy finish |

114 | Badger Fursty Ferret | United Kingdom | Bitter | 3.4

Beer poured a slightly hazed golden brown colour with a very thin tan coloured ring for a head. The aroma was weak caramel, cereal malts, and floral hops. The flavour was sweet with caramel and malt before giving way to a bitter hoppy finish. Quite good. |

115 | Neustadt Springs Mill Gap Bitter | Canada | Bitter | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 A recent find on tap and a pleasant surprise. For a beer that's listed at 3.8%, it drank a lot bigger. A light rust colour, capped by an inch of white creamy froth. The aroma was dominated by sweet malt, some grain, and mild hops. The flavour is very refreshing, with a great balancde between the malt and a mildly bitter finish |

118 | Molson Export Ale | Canada | Blonde Ale | 2.1
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 Take the recipe for Molson Canadian, and throw in some ale yeast instead of lager yeast, and up the temperature. The result is a beer that looks the same, smells pretty much the same, and tastes pretty much the same..........but for some reason, Export always seems crisper than Canadian. |

119 | Labatt 50 | Canada | Blonde Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Shares the title of 'your father's beer' with Molson Export....all depends on whether you are a Labatt man or a Molson man. I'm an equal opportunity imbiber. 50 is the better of the two with a more distinct hop character, and less sweetness. I'll choose 50 over Export any day. |

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 Everywhere you go in Canada, people are drinking Alexander Keith's this or that.....I admit it, I've done it myself. This is one of their newer nectars, very clear, somewhat sudsy. The nose is very metallic with a lot of skunk. Flavour is on the sweet side, quite malty. |

123 | Collective Arts Saint Of Circumstance | Canada | Blonde Ale | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Another great beer from the fine folks at Collective Arts. While it’s a blond ale, it isn’t boring. It pours a slightly hazed medium gold colour with a frothy off-white cap sticks around long enough to say hello. The aroma is light grains, some light fruit, and floral hops. The flavour is a nice balance between the grains, the fruit, and the bitter hop finish. Perfect for those who like their blondes with a bit of oomph! |
