226 | Unibroue Quelque Chose | Canada | Fruit Beer | 3.3
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 First of all, I wasn't really sure what to expect from a beer that is meant to be drunk...."hot". Did I invite the tall "hot" blonde from across the hall or what? I finally figured out that you are supposed to 'heat' the beer. So I did, and the sour cherry aroma was 'wow'. The transparent deep red was a beauty as well. The mouthfeel was weak, which I put down to the heating. The flavour was also weak, some maltiness, some sour cherry flavouring, but nothing that would make me want to try this again. |

227 | Broadhead Bodacious Blueberry Blonde Ale | Canada | Fruit Beer | 2.4
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Blueberry beers have always been hit or miss for me, but then, so are blueberries. I can’t think of any other fruit that is as inconsistent in flavouring from year to year. I suppose that is part of the problem when considering blueberry beers. Bodacious Blueberry Blonde is a dark metallic gold beer, pretty clear, with a small white head. The aroma is biscuit malt, and ripe blueberries. The flavour is biscuit malt, but only a hint of blueberry, and they seem to have become tart between the aroma and flavour stage. Like I said, hit or miss. Mark this as a miss. |

228 | Van Diest Fruli Strawberry Beer | Belgium | Fruit Beer | 2.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 Okay, this beer is well rated everywhere but it tastes like an alcoholic fruit drink more than any beer. A bright red pour with a pink bubbly cap that covers the surface. The aroma is candy sugar and strawberry syrup. The flavour is sweet and tart strawberry. Again, what’s the big deal with this one that I’m missing? |

230 | McAuslan St. Ambroise Framboise / McAuslan St. Ambroise Raspberry | Canada | Fruit Beer | 4.1
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8 This is more a fruit beer, than a fruit laden American wheat beer, and the choice of a North American favourite like raspberries makes for a delicious beer. A murky ruby coloured pour, with a pinkish brown cap. The aroma is powered heavily by raspberries with some malt and yeast tones apparent. The flavour is very fruity, and not very beery, but then, do you buy a fruit beer to have it be slightly fruity, or in your face? |

231 | Wellington Against The Currant | Canada | Fruit Beer | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Part of a new Wellington Mix-Pack. Against the Currant is a ‘Kettle Sour’, these are all the rage in Ontario right now. The body is gold with pink hues, some slight haze, and minimal white head. Aroma is a mix of yeast and sweet wild berries. A bit misleading. The berries become tart on the tongue however giving the sour its’ true identity. |

232 | Molson Kick | Canada | Fruit Beer | 1.7
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 Energy beer….yum! I know a lot of people who will tell you that this is the worst beer they’ve ever tasted. I’m not one of them…Old Milwaukee has this beat hands down, but this is still bad. Anything about Molson Canadian that is remotely redeeming, was lost with the addition of guarana. It killed the aroma and destroyed the taste. This is some bitter bitter shit! |

233 | Boon Framboise | Belgium | Fruit Lambic | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 When it comes to Lambics, Boon does it right. This is a fine scarlet red beer with a bubbly pink head. Lots of yeast.funk in the aroma to go along with the tart raspberries. The flavour is nicely balanced between sweet and tart fruit, and vinegary funk. |

234 | Boon Kriek | Belgium | Fruit Lambic | 3.9
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 I am still trying to figure out the difference between a gueuze, a kriek, and a lambic, regardless this cherry elixer is one of my favourites. Cherry red in colour, mainly clear, with no head at all. Tart fruit, yeast, and musty notes comprise the aromatic component, The flavour starts off sweet before giving way to a tartness. Dry finish. |

235 | Boon Mariage Parfait Kriek | Belgium | Fruit Lambic | 4.0
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 This is the perfect kriek, or so the name would imply, and personally, it is pretty damn good. A dark cherry red pour with a thin pink set of bubbles that resemble a head. Tart fruit, yeast, funk, and vinegar make up the bouquet. Lots of sweet and tart cherry in the flavour. No hint of the 8% alcohol. |

236 | Boon Oude Kriek | Belgium | Fruit Lambic | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 For the amount of cherries used in this beer, I would expect a far redder colouring. A slightly hazed light cherry red with a pink head. Lots of tart cherry in the aromatic mix with notes of yeast, vinegar, and funk. The flavour is similar, well balanced between the tartness and the sweetness of the cherries. |

237 | St. Louis Gueuze Lambic | Belgium | Gueuze | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Purchased at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario Store. Pours a pale gold colour with definte haze and a snow white bubbly head that is gone within seconds. The aroma is tart fruit, yeast, grains, and sour funk. The flavour is very tart fruit with hints of grains and yeast in the mix. |

238 | St. Louis Gueuze Fond Tradition | Belgium | Gueuze | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Purchased at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario Store. A cloudy golden coloured beer with nary a head. The aroma is tart fruit, funk, yeast, and grains. The flavour is more of the same with very tart fruity notes of front and a yeasty finish. |

240 | Boon Mariage Parfait Geuze | Belgium | Gueuze | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 A cloudy golden orange pour, some thin white bubbles make up the cap on this. The aroma is funk, yeast, vinegar, and tart fruit. The flavour is quite tart with hints of fruit, funk, and yeast. Not as good as the regular Gueuze, but solid nonetheless |

241 | 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze (Armand & Tommy) | Belgium | Gueuze | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 6 A recent one off available in Ontario for a whopping $22.80 a bottle. Thankfully a friend of mine spent the money and decided to split it with me. It pours darker than a lot gueuzes, a cloudy light brown colour to be exact. Head is white, and larger than expected. Funk is the name of the game in the aromatic department, wood chips, more funk. Flavour is funky lemons with a definite puckering moment. It smells like a great gueuze, it tastes like a great gueuze, but it's well overpriced, even if it a rare one off. |

242 | Hofbrau Munchen Kindl Weissbier (Hefe Weizen) / Hofbräu Munchen Kindl Weissbier (Hefe Weizen) | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. A hazy golden pour with a generous white head. The aroma has notes of clove, banana, and wheat....maybe a little more clove than most. The flavour is slightly sweet, the wheat and spices certainly come through. Very good Hefe |

243 | Howe Sound King Heffy Imperial Hefeweizen | Canada | Hefeweizen | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. Sometimes I question a brewer's sanity when everything they send you is in 1 litre bottles, and is an imperial something or other. This seems to be the modus operandi of Howe Sound. Beer is a hazed golden orange in colour, head is slightly off-white, but thick and lasts. The wheat, banana, and cloves are certainly apparent in the aroma. Maybe some alcohol as well. The flavour is very Germanic, wheat, yeast, and spices.....but there is a definite alcohol presence as well. |

245 | All Or Nothing Hopfenweisse | Canada | Hefeweizen | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Formerly called the Underdog Brewhouse. The beer is in the German hefeweizen class but you wouldn’t know that by looking at it. A translucent light straw colour with a weak thin white ring for a head. Some weak bubblegum and clove notes in the aroma, as well as wheat. The flavour is very grainy, which is unusual for a hefeweizen, with notes of spicy hops and a yeasty finish. Should have been better when you consider this is a one beer brewery |

246 | Erdinger Weissbier (Mit Feiner Hefe) | Germany | Hefeweizen | 4.3
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 One of my favourite hefeweizens. Maybe not in the same class as a Schneider or a Weihanstephan, but still pretty damn good. A hazy pale yellow pour with a huge frothy white head. Aroma is banana, bubblegum, wheat, and cloves. The flavour is well balanced with the sweet wheat notes up front. This goes down easy! |

247 | Granville Island Under the Bridge Series: Hey Day Hefeweizen | Canada | Hefeweizen | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 I told my son about this, and he asked me if I was playing video games. Apparently there is a very popular video game called Hey Day. I wonder if their releases coincided with one another. Anyway, the first thing I’ll write is that this is better, to me anyway, than the Robson Street Hefeweizen. Right out of the can you can notice the traditional banana, bubble gum, and clove notes missing in the other. While still not dominant in the flavour, you can taste them. |

248 | Granville Island Robson Street Hefeweizen | Canada | Hefeweizen | 2.5
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Like a lot of Granville Island beers, this isn’t very close to style, It pours a murky golden-brown with a generous snow white head. The aroma is grains, yeast, and spices, but lacking in the clove and bubble gum area that a good heferweizen has. Similar comment on the flavour as the sweetness that comes up front with a good German hefe is not present, instead a bland herbal flavour is up front before a hoppy finish. |

249 | Hacker-Pschorr Hefe Weisse | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 A typical well made German hefeweizen. A hazed metallic gold in colour with a foaming white head that lingers to the last drop. A lot of wheat, bread, yeast, and banana in the aroma with some subtle clove notes. The flavour is a nice balance between the malty sweetness and the bitterness provided by the yeast and spice. |

250 | Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier | Germany | Hefeweizen | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 This is the flagship beer for the world’s oldest brewery and it easily tells the story why the brewery is going strong today. This is one of the prototypical hefeweizens, a hazy light gold beer that pours with a very generous white head. Lots of wheat and spices in the aroma as well as the characteristic banana and bubble gum hints. The flavour is on the sweeter side of the Hefeweizen spectrum and I wouldn’t want it any other way |
