201 | Renaissance Perfection | New Zealand | English Pale Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 So, the American Pale Ale is under strength, and an over strength English Pale Ale is their so called perfection. Nope, can't tell that New Zealand's a Commonwealth country. A deep amber pour, slightly hazed, is topped off by a thin cream coloured cap. Aroma has some floral hop notes, some caramel, and some grains. Not very inviting. Flavour however is very well balanced between the hops and malt and is quite good, yet somehow, still not perfect. |

202 | Mad and Noisy Hops and Bolts India Pale Lager | Canada | Lager | 3.7
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 If you take away the colour (poured a dark pink grapefruit colour) then this is one bad ass beer. A lot of citrusy hops, some malt, and spices make up the aroma. The be all and end all of this beer is the hoppy flavour found here that you can't find in other lagers, combined with the slight spiciness. A great lager! |

204 | Amager Rugporter | Denmark | Rye Beer | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Found at the LCBO, this is a Rye Porter from Denmark, and not a bad beer at all. The colour is very dark brown with a creamy chcolate coloured cap. Lots of coffee notes in the aroma with hints chocolate and roast. The spicy notes associated with most European rtye beers are definitely lackling in this one. There is more of a molasses/coffee toi this one. |

206 | LeFebvre Hopus | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 A recent find at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario branch store. A cloudy gold colour with a generous white cap. The aroma is mainly cereal malt, yeast, and some notes of floral hops. The flavour is grainly with hints of yeast, citrus, and spices. Not as hoppy as the name would indicate, but a pretty good beer nonetheless. |

207 | Tree Captivator Dopplebock | Canada | Doppelbock | 3.7
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 A local find at the liquor store. I've tried it before but not rated it. A rusty brown pour with a thick off-white cap. Cap sticks around until the end. Lots of dark fruits (plums, raisins) in the aroma as well as notes of yeast, caramel, and burnt molasses. Flavour is on the sweet side for me with the caramel/fruit notes very strong. Not bad for a Canadian brewed doppelbock. |

208 | All Or Nothing Hopfenweisse | Canada | Hefeweizen | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Formerly called the Underdog Brewhouse. The beer is in the German hefeweizen class but you wouldn’t know that by looking at it. A translucent light straw colour with a weak thin white ring for a head. Some weak bubblegum and clove notes in the aroma, as well as wheat. The flavour is very grainy, which is unusual for a hefeweizen, with notes of spicy hops and a yeasty finish. Should have been better when you consider this is a one beer brewery |

209 | Amsterdam Cruiser All Day Pale Ale | Canada | American Pale Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 A nice hoppy easy drinking ale. It pours a translucent gold colour with a bubbly white head. The first whiff is definitely citrusy hops, and then the tropical fruit notes and grassy malts set in. The flavour is light fruits, grass, and peppery spicy finish. |

210 | Barnstormer Brewing Flight Delay IPA | Canada | IPA | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 Flight Delay is a nice IPA, especially for the Ontario consumer. It isn’t so overpowering on the hops to make you want to avoid it, and it isn’t so weak to make you wonder why they even call it an IPA. A slightly hazed golden yellow in colour with a frothy white head that sticks around. Cereal malt and citrusy grains make up the aroma although some notes of spice and yeast keep you interested. Flavour is a nice balance between the grapefruit notes of the hops and the cereal malt with the added complexity of tropical fruitiness and yeasty notes. |

211 | Black Oak Nut Brown | Canada | Brown Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 Like Amsterdam, Black Oak was there at the beginning of the craft boom in Ontario, but upped there game around 2010 when more entrants started entering the field. Unlike Amsterdam, Black Oak has always made good beer. This is a translucent brown beer with an off-white bubbly head. Roasted malt and coffee make up the aroma and flavour. Hints of chocolate keep it interesting |

212 | C'est What Homegrown Hemp Ale | Canada | Spiced Beer | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 One of the original beer bars in Ontario, if not the original, was C’est What? In downtown Toronto. They originally brewed their own beers before finding out that if you remove the vessels and contract out the brewing, you have more room for paying patrons. A solid lineup of beers has kept this place going for over 20 years now. The Homegrown Hemp Ale is a light amber coloured beer with a thin white head. The aroma is grains, weak hemp seeds, and weak earthy hops. The flavour is a nice balance between the malt and hops that made this a favourite of mine when visiting Toronto. |

213 | C'est What Mild Brown Ale | Canada | Brown Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 In this case, MBA stands for mild brown ale, but C’est What? Is so close to Toronto’s financial district, you have to wonder if it’s real. The beer pours a solid brown colour with a thin creamy tan coloured head. The aroma is caramel and roasted malt with some floral hops in there as well. Flavour is primarily nutty malt with a weak bitter finish. Doesn’t sound too exciting, but it’s a solid beer. |

214 | Wellington Imperial Russian Stout | Canada | Imperial Stout | 3.7
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 One of the oldest, if not the oldest, craft Imperial Stouts in Canada. I’ve had this beer several times because its’ good, but I’m always wondering why it can’t be better. It’s a black beer with a decent creamy light brown head. Lots of dark chocolate and roasted malt in the aroma and flavour but again, there is something missing |

215 | Railway City Black Coal Stout | Canada | Stout | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This beer pours a very dark brown with a brown foamy cap. Dark chocolate and roasted malt comprise the majority of the aroma, but there are also hints of vanilla and licorice. The flavours are similar to the aroma with a lot of dark chocolate and roasted malt notes, but still a hint of licorice. |

216 | 10 Barrel Apocalypse IPA | United States | IPA | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 An IPA in the truest American sense. Lots of Pacific Northwest hops in this baby! A cloudy pour, an amber gold in colour, with a thin creamy light tan cap. Again, pine and citrus dominate the aroma with hints of grass and spices. Citrus dominates the flavour as well, nicely balanced by the malt. |

217 | Boon Framboise | Belgium | Fruit Lambic | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 When it comes to Lambics, Boon does it right. This is a fine scarlet red beer with a bubbly pink head. Lots of yeast.funk in the aroma to go along with the tart raspberries. The flavour is nicely balanced between sweet and tart fruit, and vinegary funk. |

218 | Wellington Upside IPA | Canada | IPA | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Juicy IPAs are the latest in the IPA canon of beers, replacing the prior fads of Session, Black, and American. A reddish gold body, some haze, and a weak off-white head make up the appearance. The nose senses grass and fruit right off the start, and upon closer examination, there is yeast. Flavour is very citrusy, not like a breakfast juice, but certainly juicier than most traditional west coast IPAs |

220 | Russian River Pliny the Younger | United States | Imperial IPA | 3.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 The best thing about this beer is the ornamental lamp-like growler. After you finish the beer you can put a candle in it. A golden beer, almost clear, and plenty of head. The aroma is citrusy hops, some malt, but definitely hoppy. The flavour is all hops, and not very well balanced. |

221 | Neustadt Springs Mill Gap Bitter | Canada | Bitter | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 A recent find on tap and a pleasant surprise. For a beer that's listed at 3.8%, it drank a lot bigger. A light rust colour, capped by an inch of white creamy froth. The aroma was dominated by sweet malt, some grain, and mild hops. The flavour is very refreshing, with a great balancde between the malt and a mildly bitter finish |

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 New can found at the LCBO, different branding than a typical Creemore beer. Copper coloured beer with a decent head. Aroma is more hoppy than a lot of Creemore products. Flavour tends towards a typical German alt with a nice balance between malt and hops. |

225 | Alchemist Heady Topper | United States | Imperial IPA | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 An IPA in a can. Have heard a lot of fuss about this beer so drove down to the brewery to get some (and a couple of other Alchemist brews). Pours a very hazed dark golden-orange with a creamy white cap and tons of floaties. Aroma was pine and citrus, some caramalts. Flavour was similar, very easy to drink. Not sure why it's rated so high though as I didn't find anything outstanding about it. |
