152 | C'est What Caraway Rye Beer | Canada | Rye Beer | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 I’ve always loved rye beers, so much that I probably wouldn’t know a bad one if I tasted it. Thankfully, this is a good one. The beer pours a clear orange hued copper colour with a thin off-white head. Rye is prevalent in the aroma, but also some caramel and floral hops. The flavour is spicy rye, with hints of caramel and light fruit (apple maybe). |

153 | C'est What Hazelnut Coffee Porter | Canada | Porter | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Really just a hazelnut enhanced version of the Coffee Porter, but unlike the Hazelnut chocolate ale, it is harder to discern the hazelnut in the beer where it is easily overpowered by the coffee notes, but as I’ve said before…coffee and beer are a match made on the beer version of the Dating game! |

155 | De Koninck | Belgium | Belgian Ale | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Belgian Ales have a place in my fridge all the time. This is a light brown ale, slightly hazed with a white cap. The aroma is sweet malt, yeast, and lemon zest. Ample spices are prevalent as well. The flavour is sweet caramel, yeast, and spices. Quite good. |

156 | Hacker-Pschorr Hefe Weisse | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 A typical well made German hefeweizen. A hazed metallic gold in colour with a foaming white head that lingers to the last drop. A lot of wheat, bread, yeast, and banana in the aroma with some subtle clove notes. The flavour is a nice balance between the malty sweetness and the bitterness provided by the yeast and spice. |

157 | Scotch Irish Corporal's Bitter Brown Ale (Corporal Punishment) | Canada | Brown Ale | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 The Scotch Irish brown beer. A deep murky mahogany liquid fills the glass topped by a good inch of foaming light brown bubbles. Roasted malt, nuts, and resiny hops fill the nasal cavity with delight while the tastebuds yearn for their sampling of caramel, roasted malt, and a bitter chicory finish. If this is Corporal Punishment, sign me up! |

158 | Scotch Irish Black Irish Plain Porter | Canada | Porter | 3.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Scotch Irish were a master at roasted malt beers in my opinion, or at least, I enjoyed all that I tried. It pours a solid black coca-cola like colour with a tight creamy cap that lasts a while. Loads of roasted malt and chocolate in the aroma with a little vanilla and licorice. The tastebuds get much the same experience as the liquid flows over them…lots of coffee and chocolate notes leading to a bitter finish. |

159 | Boon Mariage Parfait Geuze | Belgium | Gueuze | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 A cloudy golden orange pour, some thin white bubbles make up the cap on this. The aroma is funk, yeast, vinegar, and tart fruit. The flavour is quite tart with hints of fruit, funk, and yeast. Not as good as the regular Gueuze, but solid nonetheless |

160 | Boon Kriek | Belgium | Fruit Lambic | 3.9
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 I am still trying to figure out the difference between a gueuze, a kriek, and a lambic, regardless this cherry elixer is one of my favourites. Cherry red in colour, mainly clear, with no head at all. Tart fruit, yeast, and musty notes comprise the aromatic component, The flavour starts off sweet before giving way to a tartness. Dry finish. |

162 | Unibroue L'Éphémère Pomme (Unibroue L'Éphémère Apple) | Canada | Fruit Beer | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 The beer pours a cloudy gold colour with a white head, after a couple of minutes............you think you have apple juice with the strong up-front aroma of sour apples. The flavour is slightly bitter and sour at the same time suggesting a hoppy, appley finish. |

163 | Unibroue 10 | Canada | Abbey Tripel | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This was the first of the anniversary ales if I'm correct and has long since been retired. The beer started off wee as it poured a nice hazy golden brown. The aroma was very complex, sweet malt, some grains, spices, and some fruit. The flavour was also very complex, but less so than the aroma. The flavour had a hoppish bite as well. |

164 | Creemore Springs Kellerbier | Canada | Kellerbier | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 One of three beers that Six Pints has added to a trio of Granville Island beers to create a craft 6-pack at the LCBO. An unfiltered golden colour with a white head. Both the aroma and flavour are malt forward with a definite hop presence. Flavour is rather unremarkable, but finishes with a hoppy snap! |

165 | Creemore Springs Premium Lager | Canada | Lager | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This is the King of the Creemore stable, their award winning pilsener. Probably the best pilsener I've ever tried, although not my favourite style. A clear pour, with a red tinged golden hue. Malts are biscuity and hops are floral. Very few off-tastes in this beer. |

166 | Hofbrau Munchen Kindl Weissbier (Hefe Weizen) / Hofbräu Munchen Kindl Weissbier (Hefe Weizen) | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. A hazy golden pour with a generous white head. The aroma has notes of clove, banana, and wheat....maybe a little more clove than most. The flavour is slightly sweet, the wheat and spices certainly come through. Very good Hefe |

167 | Howe Sound King Heffy Imperial Hefeweizen | Canada | Hefeweizen | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. Sometimes I question a brewer's sanity when everything they send you is in 1 litre bottles, and is an imperial something or other. This seems to be the modus operandi of Howe Sound. Beer is a hazed golden orange in colour, head is slightly off-white, but thick and lasts. The wheat, banana, and cloves are certainly apparent in the aroma. Maybe some alcohol as well. The flavour is very Germanic, wheat, yeast, and spices.....but there is a definite alcohol presence as well. |

168 | Le Trou du Diable Shawinigan Handshake | Canada | Weizenbock | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. The beer pours a murky rust colour with a thick creamy white head. The bottle says the colour is peach. I haven't seen a Quebec peach that looks like this before. Aroma is bananas, spices, a little alcohol and some out of place funky notes. The flavour is a tad sweet for a Weizenbock, overpowers the wheat and yeasty notes. |

169 | Renaissance Craftsman Oatmeal Chocolate Stout | New Zealand | Oatmeal Stout | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 A very dark brown beer with black edges, and a huge frothy brown head that stocks around until the end. Coffee, chocolate, and molasses can be noticed in the aroma with a little nuttiness. Flavour is on the sweet side for the style with the molasses and chocolate being the dominant forces on the tongue. Would have been better had it been a bit heavier |

171 | Augustijn Donker | Belgium | Abbey Dubbel | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 Purchased at Liquor Control Board of Ontario store. Part of a holiday 6 pack. This pours a medium brown colour with red hues and a dark tan head. Toffee, yeast, and figs tingle the aromatic sense. Flavour has notes of nutty malt, caramel, yeast, and spices. The best of the 6 pack. |

172 | Achel Blond 8 | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Purchased at Liquor Control Board of Ontario store. Is this a tripel, or a blonde BSA, who knows? It pours a clouded medium gold colour with a rocky white head. The aroma is spice, yeast, citrus, and grains. The flavour is dominated by the grains and the citrus, but the yeast is ever present in the background. |

173 | Biere du Boucanier Red Ale | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Part of an annual Christmas pack available at the LCBO. This pours a slightly less red than the Dark, although the head tends to be larger. The aroma is slightly fruity with notes of ropasted malt, caramel, and yeast. RThe flavour is like the aroma, with a very bitter long lasting aftertaste. |

174 | Ayinger Oktober Fest-Märzen | Germany | Marzen / Oktoberfest | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 A recent find at my local LCBO outlet. Always been impressed with Ayinger products in the past. Honey gold in apperance, head is light and bubbly. Lacing is generous down the glass. Sweet grains dominate the nose with light hoppy notes. Flavour is mild sweet cereal grains and a slight bitter hoppy finish. Highly recommended |

175 | Flying Monkeys Hoptical Illusion Almost Pale Ale | Canada | American Pale Ale | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 This is one of the beers that Flying Monkeys has been hanging their hat on and it’s a fine beer. A slightly hazed copper coloured pour with a weak off-white ring for a cap. The aroma is caramel malt, light fruits, and light citrus. The flavours of caramel and citrus are well balanced. |
