76 | Double Trouble Fire In The Rye Roasted Rye Pale Ale | Canada | Rye Beer | 4.3
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Not all rye ales are created equal, and this is one of the ones that excelled in the creation department. The pour is rust red with an off-white creamy head. The aroma is rye, spice, and weak citrus. The flavour is dominated by the spicy rye notes and caramel with a pleasant citrusy finish. |

77 | Erdinger Weissbier (Mit Feiner Hefe) | Germany | Hefeweizen | 4.3
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 One of my favourite hefeweizens. Maybe not in the same class as a Schneider or a Weihanstephan, but still pretty damn good. A hazy pale yellow pour with a huge frothy white head. Aroma is banana, bubblegum, wheat, and cloves. The flavour is well balanced with the sweet wheat notes up front. This goes down easy! |

This is a highly carbonated beer. The flavour is malt, some spice, and a nice hoppy finish. Very smooth and very drinkable. |

81 | Great Lakes Brewery Winter Ale | Canada | Spiced Beer | 4.2
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8 One of my favourite non-Belgian spiced ales. The spices in this beer come through in both the aroma and taste and really fit the season well. The base is that of an English strong ale with spices like cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg added. Delish! |

82 | Ommegang Hennepin | United States | Saison | 4.2
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. An American saison, been a while since I had one. Looks like a saison with a heavily hazed golden orange pour. Head is white, not that big. Aroma is a garden on a wet morning, with some citrus and spices added to increase the palatability. The funk really comes through in the flavour however, dominating the malt and hops. A really great beer. |

83 | Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Weizen | Germany | Rauchbier | 4.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 Tried in Germany. This pours a cloudy golden-brown colour with a loose off-white head that doesn’t last. Burnt wood, light fruits, and wheat comprise the aroma of this beer. The burnt wood/bacon notes dominate the flavour leaving the fruitiness of the wheat behind. The favourite of the Aecht Schlenkerlas for me. |

84 | Bockor Cuvee des Jacobins Rouge | Belgium | Flanders Red | 4.2
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 The flagship beer of the Vander Ghinste brewery and it’s easy to see why. This is a superb example of a Flanders Red. A sparkly effervescent cherry red pour with a pinkish cap. Aroma is tart cherries, funk, and vinegar. Flavour is pretty much the same although the balance between the cherry sweetness and tartness is remarkably well done. |

85 | Collective Arts State of Mind | Canada | IPA | 4.2
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 8 Since early 2014, Session IPAs are everywhere. Some of them lack colour, some of them lack aroma, and a lot of them lack flavour. The people at Collective Arts realize that when it comes to beer, flavour is important! A nice hazed light golden colour with a decent sized white head. Grass and tropical fruit make up the aroma while the balance between the citrusy hop finish and the tropical fruit sweetness make this a great Session IPA. |

86 | Flying Monkeys Netherworld Cascadian Dark Ale | Canada | American Black Ale | 4.2
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 One of the original Canadian Black IPAs. The Netherworld pours a very dark brown, almost black with a light brown bubbly cap. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and citrus. The flavour is well balanced between the grapefruity hops and the coffee. Delicious! |

87 | Wellington Welly One Off: Chocolate Milk Stout | Canada | Imperial Stout | 4.2
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8 This was a great beer, almost like chocolate milk and alcohol. Everything about this beer says chocolate. It looks like chocolate milk in a glass, the strongest component of the aroma is milk chocolate and the most dominant flavour on the tongue is milk chocolate. Wellington did well with this beer. |

88 | Kasteel Bruin | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.2
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Purchased at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario Store. The beer pours a solid dark brown colour with red edges, and a light tan coloured cap. The aroma is roasted malt, dark fruits, weak caramel, and yeast. The flavour mirrors the aroma with the dark fruit and roasted malt evident up front and a bitter yeasty finish. Quite enjoyable. |

91 | Grand River Russian Gun Imperial Stout | Canada | Imperial Stout | 4.1
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Went to a Grand River tasting at a friend's house this past weekend and found a lot of very good beers, but nothing truly outstanding. A jet black beer with a creamy dark brown head. Lots of roasted coffee in the aroma, a little vanilla, and a little chocolate. Creamy to the tongue with ample bitterness from the coffee and dark chocolate notes. |

93 | McAuslan St. Ambroise L'Écosse (Scotch Ale) | Canada | Scottish Ale | 4.1
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 This is the finest Canadian brewed scotch ale available regularly in Canada. It pours a dark mahogany colour, almost solid, with a creamy light brown cap. Molasses, vanilla, caramel, and smoked wood provide a nice aroma, and the flavour doesn’t let you down. A nice sweet scotch ale with the sweet sugar and molasses notes balanced by the smoked wood and hops. |

94 | Affligem Dubbel | Belgium | Abbey Dubbel | 4.1
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Part of the LCBO's winter warmer series for 2011. This is an excellent beer...pours a solid reddish-brown colour with a creamy light brown head. Aroma is full of sweet tones, caramel, plums, and sugar. The flavour is on the sweeter side of the spectrum as well, with a dryish finish. |

95 | Mount Begbie Nasty Habit | Canada | IPA | 4.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Part of the 2012 LCBO Fall Seasonals. This one is great. A lot of hops are coming through in the aroma as well as some pine and caramel. Amber coloured, off-white head. Flavour has more of those delicious hops. I could make this a daily beer if it was more than a Fall seasonal. |

96 | Founders Backwoods Bastard | United States | Scottish Ale | 4.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Founders has arrived in Ontario with 6 new beers and after trying them all, we need more of these in Ontario. Backwoods Bastard is a barrel aged Dirty Bastard and the result is a great beer. A dark rust colour with a decent sized cap. Aroma is sweet malt, berries, molasses, and bourbon. Flavour is a beautiful mixture of sweet malt/molasses balanced by a hint of alcohol. Great beer. |

97 | Founders Centennial IPA | United States | IPA | 4.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 A well done IPA using the Centennial hop. An amber brew with a hint of murkiness and an off-white cap. Lots of piney notes and citrusy hops in the aroma with a touch of caramel. Well balanced flavour between the citrus and the caramel. Nothing too overpowering. |

98 | Founders Pale Ale | United States | American Pale Ale | 4.1
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9 A great refreshing American Pale Ale that we just don't see in these parts with any regularity. A golden pour, clear with orange hues and a huge white head that lingers a while. Aroma is certainly hoppy with hints of citrus and caramel. Flavour is great with a nice balance between caramel sweetness and citrusy bitterness. An excellent session beer. |

99 | Achel Bruin 8 | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.1
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 A recent find at the Ontario Liquor monopoly. It pours a deep brown colour with hits of red. The head is light brown, frothy, and lasts a while. There is caramel, brown sugar, yeast, and bread in the aroma. The flavour is a tad sweet with hints of caramel, roasted malt, and yeast. |

100 | Barbar Winter Bok | Belgium | Bock | 4.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 One can never go wrong with a dark beer.,…right? This beer pours with a dark brown pour with a light brown cap that sticks around. There is some roasted malt in the nose with hints of caramel, yeast, and spices. The flavour is as complex as the aroma with notes of coffee, caramel, yeast, and honey. I could drink a lot of this if it wasn’t 8.5% |
