26 | Buxton Imperial Black India Pale Ale | United Kingdom | American Black Ale | 4.7
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 A new beer at the local LCBO, and one of the top rated Black IPA's on Ratebeer. It's quite the beer. A velvery black pour gives rise to a generous cap of tanned creaminess. Hops pelt the nose right as the cap comes off the bottle, followed by notes of pine and coffee. Full bodied and slightly creamy as it dances over the tongue. Again, the citrus comes through in the flavour in flying colours, followed by some nutty roasted malt and coffee flavours. |

28 | Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel | Germany | Dunkel Weizen | 4.7
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 There is something comforting about dark hefes and this beer displays it in all its’ splendour. The pour is a murky amber colour with a huge off-white head. Chocolate is added to the typical notes of wheat, clove and banana making for a pleasant smell. The flavour starts sweet and fruity, but the finish is bitter and chocolatey. |

29 | Orval | Belgium | Belgian Ale | 4.6
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 This is the beer of Gods. It looks like a beer, and tastes great. A hazy golden ale with a huge white cap that has the texture of the rocky mountains. Belgian yeast is the prevalent odour along with some fruit and peppery spices. The flavour is both unique and complex. Citrusy hints balance out the yeastiness and it all ends with a bittering finish. |

30 | McAuslan St. Ambroise Stout Impériale Russe / McAuslan St. Ambroise Russian Imperial Stout | Canada | Imperial Stout | 4.6
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 If there is one thing that McAusland does well, it is stouts. Between their world class Oatmeal Stout and this, one would be quite content! Blackest stout in Canada with lots of roasted coffee and chocolate notes in both the aroma and flavour. Great body! |

32 | 8 Wired iStout | New Zealand | Imperial Stout | 4.6
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 Finally a stout worth writing home about. An oily dark black pour results in a foamy chocolate brown head. Chocolate, coffee, burnt grains, and molasses comprise the aroma. Body is very full. Lots of chocolate and coffee in the flavours with some hop notes in the finish. Great beer. |

33 | Abbaye des Rocs Brune | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.6
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Had this gem the other day, and it was mighty fine despite it being a warm summer day. A mahogany coloured elixer with a fruity bouquet that includes raisins, plums, some roastiness, and yeast. Alcohol is well hidden, and the flavour is balanced between hoppy bitterness, and the sweet caramel and fruit notes. A bit pricy at $4/bottle, but a damn good beer. |

34 | Ayinger Celebrator Dopplebock | Germany | Doppelbock | 4.6
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 Too bad this beer isn't available year rtound because I could drink this every day. A beautiful dark brown pour with a mid-sized off-white head enters the glass. Fresh baked bread, plums, and chocolate are the primary aromatic components. Flavour is fantastic for the style with a well balanced palate between the malty sweetness,m and the bitter hoppish finish. I love this beer. |

35 | Guinness Stout | Ireland | Dry Stout | 4.6
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 This is a go to beer for just about everybody I know. I can't really complain about that as it is my go to beer as well when I visit places that don't have any non-BMC on tap. There is nothing new to what's already been said about this about this beer that I can add. Just an all round very good beer. As it is the stout by which all other stouts are measured (according to Stone Brewing's Greg Koch) I have to give it a 10 for appearance! |

36 | Guinness Draught | Ireland | Dry Stout | 4.6
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 I find it hard to believe that I am opnly getting around to rating this now having had it hundreds of times in the past 40 years. Well, it's the stout by which all stouts are measured, so by that statement, it should get a 10 for everything....shouldn't it? I'll be quick about this. Appearance is dark brown with black edges and a huge creamy light brown head. The nose is rooasted malt, and coffee...good coffee. Flavour is a nice balance of roasted malt and bitter goldings. Can't beat it. |

38 | Collective Arts Rhyme and Reason Extra Pale Ale | Canada | American Pale Ale | 4.6
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 When this beer was originally released, few people paid any attention to the beer itself, rather they paid attention to the labels. A few years later, and people are raving about both. Collective Arts has no static label for any of their beers, when you buy a 6 pack, or a group of cans, each one will have a different drawing on the label…how neat is that? R&R is a mellow APA. The beer marries the sweetness of the malt with the citrusy bitterness of the hops like no other. Definitely a winner. |

39 | Paulaner Salvator | Germany | Doppelbock | 4.6
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 This is the original doppelbock, the one by which all others will supposedly be measured. I can see why. The beer pours a transparent cherry red colour with a generous long lasting off-white foaming cap. Dark fruits, caramel, and roasted malt comprise the bulk of the aromatic nature with some yeast present for good measure. The flavour is sweet roasted malt and caramel, with hints of plums and bread. I can see why this is a Lenten staple. |

42 | Unibroue Maudite | Canada | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 La Maudite is a dark brown beer with a tan coloured head that lasts a while. The aroma is a combination of yeasts, citrus fruits, and spices. The flavour is very similar to the aroma with the yeast and malt coming strong, but the finish is nice and spicy. |

43 | Unibroue 16 | Canada | Abbey Tripel | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 This beer isn't as good as some of the earlier anniversary issues from the wonderful people at Unibroue. As with some of the others, the beer is a cloudy beer, golden-orange in colour, with a generous head. The aroma was full of malt, yeast, and fruity spices. The flavour mimics the aroma, with a slight acidic bitterness. |

45 | McAuslan St. Ambroise Millésimée / McAuslan St. Ambroise Vintage Ale | Canada | English Barleywine | 4.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 Who doesn’t like a good barleywine? Everybody I know loves a good strong well made barleywine. This is one of Canada’s finest barleywines. It pours a clear rust colour with a creamy thin light brown coloured cap. Lots of caramel and sweet malt in the aroma with hints of dark fruit and herbal hops. Flavour is a nice balance between the sweet caramel and toffee notes and the earthy hoppy and spice notes. Highly recommended. |

46 | Fuller's Past Masters Double Stout | United Kingdom | Imperial Stout | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 One of the 6 beers brought in as part of the Fuller's release at the LCBO. This is the easiest drinking Impy Stout I have ever had. A deep brownish colour with a thin head. Lots of chocolate and cocoa in the aroma and flavour and absolutely no hints of alcohol. |

47 | Chimay Grande Réserve (Blue) | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 RateBeer tells me that this is one of the world's finest beers, and I have to agree. A solid dark brown pour with huge aroma and flavour...........baked bread, yeast, dark fruits, and dark malt. Made in the right combinations and you have a great beer! |

48 | Deschutes Black Butte Porter | United States | Porter | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 I've heard this is much better on draught than in the bottle unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to try it that way, so bottle it is. The beer has a coca-cola appearance to it with a black body and glowing brown edges. The head is creamy, dark brown in colour. The nose picks up hints of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, and hints of anise. The flavour is quite complex and similar to the aroma. Lots of malty goodness in this one! |

49 | Collective Arts Ransack The Universe | Canada | IPA | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 A very good IPA. The tropical fruit notes send the flavour soaring to the highest heights. A hazed red-tinged golden colour with a snow white ring make up the appearance. Grainy malt combined with tropical fruit and yeast comprise the aroma. Light fruity flavours, and a bitter hop finish are the flavours of the day. Well done! |

50 | Collective Arts Saint Of Circumstance | Canada | Blonde Ale | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Another great beer from the fine folks at Collective Arts. While it’s a blond ale, it isn’t boring. It pours a slightly hazed medium gold colour with a frothy off-white cap sticks around long enough to say hello. The aroma is light grains, some light fruit, and floral hops. The flavour is a nice balance between the grains, the fruit, and the bitter hop finish. Perfect for those who like their blondes with a bit of oomph! |
