352 | Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Urbock | Germany | Rauchbier | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 Tried in Germany. Pours a clear mud-brown colour with an off-white creamy head. Notes of bacon, wood, grains, yeast, and dark fruits in the aroma. Flavour has the smokiness rather subdued compared to the Marzen and Weizen (maybe if urbock had a ‘z’) with fruit and caramel hints dominating. |

353 | Broadhead Dark Horse Stout | Canada | Oatmeal Stout | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Another beer from Broadhead that has me and some friends of mine thinking ‘what we’re they thinking’. The pour is a solid dark brown, with a light brown creamy cap. Aroma is very much at the roasted malt/chocolate end of the spectrum with not much in the way of coffee. The flavour is rather one dimensional as well with lots of roasted malt and milk chocolate, and nothing too bitter to keep it in check. |

354 | Double Trouble Prison Break Breakout Pilsner | Canada | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 A hazy pilsner – go figure! This beer pours a hazed medium gold from the can, with a thin white ring passing for a head. The aroma is biscuit malt, with notes of yeast and perfumy hops in the mix. The taste is sweet malt and yeast. Not much in the way of hops in the flavour. |

355 | Goose Island Endless IPA | United States | IPA | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Unfortunately, the purchase of Goose Island has resulted in the beer brewing brewed outside the Chicago area, and in this case, a Labatt facility in Montreal. The beer pours a pale yellow colour, slightly clouded, with a white head. Aroma is tropical fruit and floral notes. Flavour is all tropical fruit, any malt aroma and flavour has been lost. |

356 | Rickard's Honey Brown | Canada | Brown Ale | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 I think this was the second Rickard’s product after the Red, and it disappeared almost as quickly as it appeared. The pours is clear, golden-brown in colour, with a weak off-white coloured cap. Aroma is dominated by grains and caramel with weak notes of floral hops. The flavour is sweeter than the aroma would indicate with hints of caramel, and honey. |

357 | Railway City Dead Elephant Ale | Canada | IPA | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Not one of Ontario’s better craft brewer’s but they’ve been around a while so somebody must like them. A slightly clouded pale gold, with a white head. The aroma has elements of pine, citrus, and grass. The flavour is mild citrus, and grass. Certainly not an in your face IPA, but serviceable. |

358 | Railway City Iron Spike Copper Ale | Canada | Amber Ale | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Part of the Iron Spike series that put Railway City on the map. The appearance is a translucent copper colour. The head is bubbly, an off-white in colour, but doesn’t last. The aroma is very malty with both grassy and biscuit malt notes present, complemented as well with some herbal hop notes and yeast. Flavour is very bland, not as caramel rich as other copper coloured ales. More like a dark coloured blonde ale. |

359 | Parallel 49 Hoparazzi India Pale Lager | Canada | Lager | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Not sure what to make of this one. An overhopped lager is what I presume they were going for. It pours a clear medium gold colour with a generous white head that sticks a round a minute or two, then has a plane to catch somewhere. The aroma has a definite citrus hop motif going on balanced out by some yeast, bread, and light spices. Flavour is well balanced between the grains and citrus. Not something I would seek out but not something I would say no to either. |

360 | Parallel 49 Snap, Crackle, Hop | Canada | Imperial IPA | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Rice evokes the images of Japan and Budweiser when it is mentioned in connection with beer. The beer pours a nice medium gold colour, some reddish hues, and a generous white cap. The aroma is grains, weak citrusy hops, and some yeast. The flavour is light citrus, some caramellish notes, and more yeast. Not something I liked. |

364 | Mill Street Organic Oktoberfest | Canada | Marzen / Oktoberfest | 2.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 This is another in a long list of orange coloured beers that I have tried through the years. The aroma is primarily hoppy, but there is some graininess. The flavour is slightly bitter, with a little spiciness, but again, there is graininess. |

365 | Mill Street Belgian Frambozen | Canada | Fruit Beer | 2.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Available at the Mill Street BrewPub in Toronto's Distillery district. The beer pours a red colour with a pinkish head. The aroma is primarily malty with some wheaty and raspberry tones. The flavour was malty with some thin raspberry flavouring. |

366 | BrewDog Punk IPA | United Kingdom | IPA | 2.8
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 This beer is popping up everywhere, and it's nothing special. Pale gold in colour, small white head, and even it goes away quickly. The aroma is very piney, some citrus and floral notes and malt. The flavour is what it is....grassy malt up front, and a hoppy ending. |

367 | Alexander Keith's Hop Series: Galaxy | Canada | American Pale Ale | 2.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 The third in the Alexander Keith's single hop pale ale series. I had high hopes for this one, but was extremely disappointed. The darkest beer yet with a distinct light amber colour, but the tropical fruit aroma normally associated with galaxy hops is completely lacking. Flavour is quite thin and again, lacking the fruit notes I was expecting. |

368 | Aldaris Porteris | Latvia | Baltic Porter | 2.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Purchased at Liquor Control Board of Ontario store. The beer pours a sold dark brown colour with black edges, and thin creamy brown ring for a cap. The aroma consisted of roasted malt, caramel, molasses, and coffee. The flavour was reminiscent of the aroma with roasted malt and caramel dominated, and a bitter finish. |

369 | Birra Moretti | Italy | Lager | 2.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Every time I go to Italy, it is either this or Peroni that is the local draught. Both non-offensive, but neither worth drinking. The beer is a pale gold colour, clear, with a white head. The aroma is grains, and weak hops, with plenty of adjuncts. The flavour is typical of a North American pale lager with a grainy nature and plenty of off-notes. |

370 | Black Oak Pale Ale | Canada | American Pale Ale | 2.8
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Okay, they want you to believe it’s a pale ale, but it is really a blonde. Not a lot to this beer. A translucent medium gold coloured pour with a snow white bubbly head. Aroma is grassy malt, some weak citrus, and some metallic notes. The flavour is similar with a strong grainy flavour only slightly offset by the weak citrusy hop notes. |

371 | Blue Moon Belgian White / Belgian Moon | United States | Witbier | 2.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 While MolsonCoors and MillerCoors try to pass this off as a craft beer, it’s not. A hazed light yellow pour with a huge white head. The aroma is weak spices, light wheat notes, and tropical fruit. The flavour is metallic wheat, with hints of orange and coriander. |

372 | Double Trouble French Press Vanilla Stout | Canada | Milk Stout | 2.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 This is quite possibly the thinnest stout I have ever had. It pours a dark black in colour with a creamy brown head. Lots of coffee and chocolate in the aroma, but not much vanilla or roasted malt. The flavour is much the same as the aroma with almost no vanilla. |

373 | Granville Island Brockton IPA | Canada | IPA | 2.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 There are a lot of IPAs in Canada which follow the rules of the 19th century British IPAs which means to the 21st century beer drinker, they’re as much an IPA as Pluto is a planet. At one time, both were as described, but today, they’re not. A light amber pour, almost clear, and with a thin off-white head. Cereal malt, floral hops, and yeast dominate the aroma, although I suppose one could delude themselves into believing that there is a citrus hint there. Flavour is grainy with nary a citrusy note in the mix. |

374 | Granville Island English Bay Pale Ale | Canada | American Pale Ale | 2.8
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 One of the first Canadian craft brewers to be taken out by a macro, but like Creemore, the taste of the beer hasn’t changed much before or after. Still humdrum at best. The beer is a nice clear rust colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is punctuated by an overabundance of caramel notes with light herbal hoppy notes mixed in. Flavour is sweet caramel malt, balanced by a bitter herbal hoppiness. Decent enough I guess. |

375 | Whistler Bear Paw Honey Lager | Canada | Pale Lager | 2.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 When a brewer advertises honey in a lager or an ale, I expect to be able to ascertain a hint of sweetness somewhere, anywhere, but in this beer….not here. A very dark gold pour, the beer is topped by a thin white cap that doesn’t stick around long enough to get your name. Lots of grains on the nose with some floral and nutty hints, kind of like some honey browns I.ve tried. The flavour is decent, but the balance between the grains and the bitter hops would have been better served by the inclusion of honey. |
