277 | Granville Island Under the Bridge Series: Hey Day Hefeweizen | Canada | Hefeweizen | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 I told my son about this, and he asked me if I was playing video games. Apparently there is a very popular video game called Hey Day. I wonder if their releases coincided with one another. Anyway, the first thing I’ll write is that this is better, to me anyway, than the Robson Street Hefeweizen. Right out of the can you can notice the traditional banana, bubble gum, and clove notes missing in the other. While still not dominant in the flavour, you can taste them. |

279 | Whitewater Brewing Midnight Stout | Canada | Oatmeal Stout | 3.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 The beer appears a little on the light side for a stout. More of a dark brown than a black and the head is more of an off-white colour than a tan. The aroma is typical with roasted malt and cocoa with some underlying coffee hints. Flavour leans towards the bitter end of the spectrum. A decent tasting stout that could use some work on its’ appearance |

280 | Wellington Against The Currant | Canada | Fruit Beer | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Part of a new Wellington Mix-Pack. Against the Currant is a ‘Kettle Sour’, these are all the rage in Ontario right now. The body is gold with pink hues, some slight haze, and minimal white head. Aroma is a mix of yeast and sweet wild berries. A bit misleading. The berries become tart on the tongue however giving the sour its’ true identity. |

281 | Badger Fursty Ferret | United Kingdom | Bitter | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Purchased at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario Store. Beer poured a slightly hazed golden brown colour with a very thin tan coloured ring for a head. The aroma was weak caramel, cereal malts, and floral hops. The flavour was sweet with caramel and malt before giving way to a bitter hoppy finish. Quite good. |

282 | Badger Tanglefoot Strong Ale | United Kingdom | English Strong Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 Purchased at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario Store. A clear copper coloured beer with a weak white cap that lingers for a while. The aroma is caramel, yeast, and cereal malts. The flavour is toffee, yeast, and grains. A very easy drinking beer. |

283 | Half Acre Daisy Cutter Pale Ale | United States | American Pale Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 The flagship beer for the Half Acre brewery. Quite clear for a pale ale, medium gold in colour with some rocky islands for a head. Lots of citrusy hops and pine in the aroma with a hint of caramel and bread. Well balanced flavours with the caramel leading into a piney hop finish. |

284 | Black Sheep Monty Pythons Holy Grail | United Kingdom | Extra Special Bitter | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This beer is not the holy grail, but it is still very drinkable. A light copper pour, some cloudiness, and a white cap. The aroma is light fruit, some caramel, some cereal, and herbal hops. The flavour is slightly sweet with a hoppy finish. |

286 | Big Rock Grasshopper Wheat Ale | Canada | American Wheat | 3.3
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This is a golden-yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is weakly malty with just a hint of wheat. The mouthfeel is thin, with champagne-like carbonation. The flavour is complex, malty, hoppy, and wheaty tones all come through resulting in a very drinkable beer. |

288 | Unibroue Quelque Chose | Canada | Fruit Beer | 3.3
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 First of all, I wasn't really sure what to expect from a beer that is meant to be drunk...."hot". Did I invite the tall "hot" blonde from across the hall or what? I finally figured out that you are supposed to 'heat' the beer. So I did, and the sour cherry aroma was 'wow'. The transparent deep red was a beauty as well. The mouthfeel was weak, which I put down to the heating. The flavour was also weak, some maltiness, some sour cherry flavouring, but nothing that would make me want to try this again. |

289 | Deschutes The Abyss | United States | Imperial Stout | 3.3
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 I had a hard time getting this, and now that I have it, I feel like I've wasted my money. A decent Imperial Stout, but not a great one. Not a lot of complexity in the aroma or flavour, and certainly nothing that makes it stand out from the crowd. Very black with a creamy brown head. Typical stout aroma with roasted malt, coffee, and vanilla. The flavour is more of the same. No wow factor here. I think Thomassova hit it on the head when he said 'overrated'. At best...average aside from colour! |

291 | Muskoka Double Chocolate Cranberry Stout | Canada | Imperial Stout | 3.3
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Large bottle with bothe old name and new name displayed. A solid brown pour with purplish hints. Cap starts out huge and dissipates quickly. Lots of chocolate, coffee, and fruit in the aroma but it hasn't translated well to the flavour, at least not the fruit. I've heard that it doesn't age well either. |

292 | Bush Blonde | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. I hope this is the right beer as my bottle says Scaldis Extra Blonde Tripel. Anyway with a hazed gold with a huge white head. Quite a bit of effervescence. Aroma is yeast, citrus, grains, and spices. Flavour is sweet for a tripel, almost a caramel sweetness. There is still the yeast, spices, and citrus but the caramel bites you in the tongue. |

293 | Birrificio del Ducato Bia IPA | Italy | IPA | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 The colour is typical of an American IPA with a cloudy golden orange and topped with a creamy beige head. Typical American IPA aroma with lots of pine, grapefruit, and toffee notes. Where it fails is in the flavour, not as robust or as hoppy as an American IPA with muted citrus and caramel notes. |

294 | Bitburger Premium Pils | Germany | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 A deep gold pour, clear, with a frothy white head that you expect from a German lager. Biscuity malt, yeast, and herbal hops round out the aroma. Flavour is nicely balanced between the malt and hops, again, something you would expect from a German lager |

295 | C'est What Mother Pucker's Ginger Wheat | Canada | American Wheat | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 I’ve only seen this on the menu once. Ginger has always been an interesting spice because it is very versatile and can be used in sweet dishes, vegetarian dishes, and meat dishes. Alcoholic ginger ales have always been enjoyable for me, so marrying it to a wheat ale seems like a no brainer. And it works. A red-tinged orange pour, clear, with a small head defines the appearance. The wheat and hops overpower the ginger in the aroma, you notice it, but not as much as you would think. The flavour is really a ginger infused American style wheat beer, not that there’s anything wrong with that! |

296 | Durham Hop Addict | Canada | IPA | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Another in the long line of draught only beers from the GTA brewer County Durham. Hop Addict is a moderate ABV IPA with a lot of aroma, and not so much flavour, for me anyway. The beer pours a clear light copper colour with very little head. The aroma is nice citrusy hops, some caramel and some grains. The flavour however isn’t as hop forward as the aroma would indicate. |

297 | Hockley Valley Dark | Canada | Brown Ale | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 When this came out, it was better than most craft beers available in Ontario, but then, it wasn’t the typical blonde or pale lager all the craft brewers were creating at the time. Hockley Valley Dark pours a clear mahogany colour with a decent sized head. The aroma consists of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and caramel notes. The flavour is well balanced between the sweet chocolate notes and the bitter chocolate and roasted notes. |

298 | Sleeping Giant Brewing 360° Ale | Canada | American Pale Ale | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 The beer appears in the glass as a light amber coloured ale with a thin cream coloured cap. Aroma is malty with cereal and biscuit goodness, some peppery notes, and grassy hop notes. The flavour is nicely balanced between the malty grains and the weak hops. Better than I expected from an unheralded brewery. |

299 | Pilsner Urquell | Czech Republic | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 The great grandfather of all of today’s Czech Pilseners, be they good or bad. I guess one can be a bit sentimental and rate this one high, and if you get it in a can that would be worthy. Or you can be fair and rate it for what it is, a decent lager that is a few steps above a macro but still a few steps below a well crafted pilsner. A pale straw pour that is topped by a foamy white head. Aroma is balanced between floral hops and grass. Flavour is rather one dimensional with grains up front and hops in the finish. |

300 | Wellington Helles Lager | Canada | Helles / Dortmunder | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 A new beer in the Wellington lineup, German style lagers are always welcome in my book. This beer pours a shiny light gold colour with a little haze, and a foamy white head. Not a lot of head retention though. Nice grainy malt aromas and herbal hops. Typical of the style. This is not a well balanced beer though, more malt forward than a true German Helles. |
