251 | Wellington Welly One Off: Terrestrial India Brown Ale | Canada | American Black Ale | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This came in a black silver can with only a sticker. What’s up with that? A solid mahogany coloured brew with a creamy light tan coloured head. Nutty malt, roasted malt, and caramel dominate the olfactory senses although there is some chocolate notes in the flavour. Not a bad beer at all |

252 | 10 Barrel Joe IPA | United States | IPA | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 This is a piney IPA, and that’s never a bad thing. The pours is orange gold, very hazy, thin white cap. The aromatic story is all about the hops as all you get are pine, resiny notes, and citrus. The malt seems to have been shuffled to the basement. Flavour is the same, this is all about the hops, and not very well balanced. |

253 | Bacchus | Belgium | Flanders Oude Bruin | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Purchased at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario Store. This comes packaged in a nice tissue cover. The beer pours a dark reddish brown with a light brown bubbly head. The aroma is funk, tart fruit, yeast, and grains. The flavour is tart cherries, some sweet malt, and more of the yeast and earthy funk. |

254 | Woodhouse India Pale Ale | Canada | IPA | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Having been to the brewery a couple of times and been very disappointed in their stuff, I was kind of surprised that this was quite good. It's a dark gold pour, some haze, maybe even a floaty or two. I smell a lot of elements in this such as cereal, orange rind, and papaya. The flavours meld together nicely making this a nice drinking beer. |

255 | Löwenbräu Original / Lowenbrau Original | Germany | Helles / Dortmunder | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 8 It's hard to believe that I haven't rated this beer before. An issue I have with ths is that in Canada. Lowenbrau has been brewed by several different entities over the years. In the 70s and 80s it was brewed in Canada by Carling O'Keefe. Then it shifted to being imported for a few years, and now the cans in Canada are brewed by Labatt. Either way, I've had the German original, and they all taste pretty much the same. It's a well balanced Americanized German helles where you can detect the malted grains as equally as the Central European hops. It gets lifted by the Enjoyment scores, but isn't that part of the experience....enjoying the actual beer! |

256 | Big Rock Traditional Ale | Canada | Amber Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This beer is a reddish copper colour with a thin white head. The aroma is very malty with some caramel and hoppish tones. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and mild carbonation. The flavour was a combination of toffee and malt with a finishing kick of bitterness. |

257 | Mill Street Barley Wine | Canada | English Barleywine | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 I've had the opportunity to try the 2003,2004, and 2005 variations of this beer, although if truth be told, the variation between the vintages was less than I've encountered among bottles of Budweiser in the same case. The beer pours a reddish brown with a tan head. The aroma has malt up front, but a few more whiffs and you notice the extra spicy sweetness. The flavour is malty with less of spiciness found in the aroma. |

260 | McAuslan St. Ambroise Blé de L'Apricot / McAuslan St. Ambroise Apricot Wheat | Canada | American Wheat | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Apricots are one of those fruits that has a very memorable earthy flavour, and McAuslan has succeeded in turning that dominant flavour into a subtly flavoured wheat beer. A nice golden pour, the real in your face attitude comes in the subtle notes of apricot in the aroma and flavour, yet the wheat notes are still very much alove. A fruity American Wheat style at it’s finest. |

262 | Abbaye des Rocs Blanche des Honnelles | Belgium | Witbier | 3.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This is the darkest witbier I think I have ever seen. A dark golden haze topped by a whitish cap. Aroma is on the spicy end of a witbier, although the wheat and citrus is still there. The flavour is quite peppery up front, but finishes smoothly with wheat. |

263 | Thornbridge Kipling South Pacific Pale Ale | United Kingdom | American Pale Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. A slightly cloudy golden pour is topped with a rather large white head. Tropical fruit rules the roost from an aroma perspective with some malt and spices also present. The tropical fruit and citrus dominate the flavour with not much of the malt seen here. Quite refreshing, but nothing outstanding. |

264 | Renaissance Discovery | New Zealand | American Pale Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 At 4.5%, this is kind of weak for an APA, but I thought I would give it a try anyway. A dark gold pour, slightly cloudy, with a thin white cap fills the glass. The cascade hops are definitely noticeable in the aroma along with citrus and grassy malt. Flavour lacks the hoppish bite one comes to expect from a well made APA, but there are still enough notes of grapefruit and caramel to keep the imbiber interested. |

265 | Renaissance Voyager | New Zealand | IPA | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This is the New Zealand version of the British version of an IPA. A clear amber colured pour with a small tan head, very similar to the MPA had last night. Aroma is more citrusy than piney, with spices and caramel present. Flavour is quite similar to the MPA as well with caramel, citrus, and spices. The flavours in the MPA were definitely 'fuller' however. |

266 | Beer Academy Wee Heavy | Canada | Scottish Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 I've been sitting on this one a few months now and thought I would finally crack 'er open and give her a try. A brown pour with black edges, thin brown head. Nothing remakable. You could tell from the odour that this was going to be a sweet beer. Dark fruit, molasses and butterscotch. A tad sweet on the tongue as well, butterscotch, molasses, and fruit. Not very well balanced but drinkable nonetheless. |

267 | Augustijn Grand Cru | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Purchased at Liquor Control Board of Ontario store. Part of a holiday 6 pack. A beast of a beer. It pours a hazed golden-orange with a huge white head. Spices, yeast, and citrus dominate the aroma, but notes of candied fruit exist. The flavour starts out with a fruity sweetness, and has a bitter citrus finish with yeast and spice notes. Alcohol was detectable. |

268 | Adnams Explorer | United Kingdom | Extra Special Bitter | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Tried at a bar. Pours a clear amber-hued gold with a snow white generous cap that sticks around and laces well. Lots of hops in the aroma, some grassy malts, and notes of citrus. Flavour is typical of a British bitter with loads of toffee and citrus in the finish. |

270 | Biere du Boucanier Dark Ale | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 A rust coloured beer that is still dominated by the alcohol. There is almost no head. The aroma is dominated by yeast and caramel scents with cereal malts and alcohol in the mix. The flavour has a sweet tang to it with noticeable alcohol presence and yeast and caramel flavours as well |

271 | Birrificio del Ducato Luna Rossa | Italy | Wild Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 A murky reddish brown pour with a weak tan coloured ring as a cap. Lots of tart cherry aroma, some yeast, some funk. Yeast and cherry dominate the flavour profile. The flavour does lack some balance between the sweetness and the tartness however. |

272 | Bockor Omer. Traditional Blond | Belgium | Abbey Tripel | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 A cloudy effervescent golden pour with a thick white cap that lingers on and on. Grains, yeast, and light citrusy notes comprise the aroma with subtle spice notes. The flavour has a malty backbone with a touch of some honey sweetness followed by a bitter dry finish. |

273 | Big Rig Bock Me Gently | Canada | Weizenbock | 3.4
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 I don't usually buy canned beer these days, but sometimes you can make an exception. As described oin the can, the beer is a clear copper colour. Molasses and caramel best describe the aroma and the flavour. There might be too much bitterness in the finish, but Big Rig isn't known for their finesse in making beer. |

274 | Ilkley The Mayan | United Kingdom | Chocolate Stout | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 I clearly did not read the bottle carefully, especially the part where it says 'chipotle'. I admit, I was taken very much by surprise by that. A dark brown pour, a littlen on the thin side with a chocolate brown cap. Coffee and chocolate dominate the aroma. The flavour is dominated by notes of coffee, roasted malt, and nuts...and then comes tyhe chipotle pepper, chugging down your throat like a French bullet train. |

275 | C'est What Hazelnut Chocolate Ale | Canada | Chocolate Stout | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 The first time I saw this on the menu (and the Hazelnut Coffee Porter) I was thinking Nutella. Sadly, not a Nutella tasting beer. It is dark brown, with a light brown cap, and smells like roasted malt and dark chocolate. There is a hazelnut flavour in the finish so all is not lost. |
