376 | Beer Academy Dortmunder | Canada | Helles / Dortmunder | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 If there is anything that MolsonCoors knows how to do, it's make a golden coloured lager like this one. The Beer Academy Dortmunder is what happens when you use quality ingredients instead of corn syrup and hop extract. Just an all round great attempt at a Western German lager |

377 | Beer Academy Porter | Canada | Porter | 4.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This is my favourite beer from the Beer Academy line. If I didn't know iut was a porter, I would have thought it was an excellent example of a plain stout. Pours a rich dark brown with black edges. Lots of roast and vanilla in the nose, along wioth a little fruit and some vanilla. Not overly bitter on the tongue, always a plus iwth a porter or stout. |

378 | Mount Begbie Nasty Habit | Canada | IPA | 4.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Part of the 2012 LCBO Fall Seasonals. This one is great. A lot of hops are coming through in the aroma as well as some pine and caramel. Amber coloured, off-white head. Flavour has more of those delicious hops. I could make this a daily beer if it was more than a Fall seasonal. |

379 | Black Creek Pumpkin Ale | Canada | Spiced Beer | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Part of the 2012 LCBO Fall Seasonal lineup. Not a huge fan of pumpkin beers and this is one of three at the LCBO this fall. A copper coloured ale with a decent sized cap. Pumpkin pie is in the aroma and the flavour. Spices are noticeably weak leaving this a beer to avoid. |

380 | Howe Sound Pumpkineater Imperial Pumpkin Ale | Canada | Spiced Beer | 2.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 6 First of all, what's with the 1 litre bottle? They must know it's too much to drink because it comes with a flip top stopper. I didn't really dig this beer. Felt very acidic on the tongue. Bottle date is August so unless it went off quickly, I'm avoiding this one. Not worth it buying another bottle to see if maybe thre first was flawed as I'm not into pumkin beers. |

381 | Yanjing Beer | China | Pale Lager | 1.6
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 Like a lot of stuff from China, one has to wonder whether this beer is a Bud/Miller/Coors knockoff because it’s really bad. The beer is a very light gold in colour with little to no head. Lots of adjuncts in the aroma and the flavour make Yanjing a very bad beer. |

382 | Pilsner Urquell | Czech Republic | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 The great grandfather of all of today’s Czech Pilseners, be they good or bad. I guess one can be a bit sentimental and rate this one high, and if you get it in a can that would be worthy. Or you can be fair and rate it for what it is, a decent lager that is a few steps above a macro but still a few steps below a well crafted pilsner. A pale straw pour that is topped by a foamy white head. Aroma is balanced between floral hops and grass. Flavour is rather one dimensional with grains up front and hops in the finish. |

383 | Mikkeller The Canadian Dream | Denmark | Lager | 4.0
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Part of the 2013 Summer LCBO Release. A clouded golden orange pour topped with a huge white head, just like you see on a Canadian beer commercial. Aroma is slightly more citrusy than your typical Canadian lager. Flavour is quite malty, yet the hops are definitely present. Great job Mikkeller! |

384 | Amager Rugporter | Denmark | Rye Beer | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Found at the LCBO, this is a Rye Porter from Denmark, and not a bad beer at all. The colour is very dark brown with a creamy chcolate coloured cap. Lots of coffee notes in the aroma with hints chocolate and roast. The spicy notes associated with most European rtye beers are definitely lackling in this one. There is more of a molasses/coffee toi this one. |

385 | Amager Kåååd | Denmark | IPA | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Purchased at Liquor Control Board of Ontario store. This is one strange India Pale Ale. It pours a cloudy golden amber colour with almost no head. The aroma is very grainly with hints of light fruit and citrusy hops. The flavour is closer to that of an IPA with a very hop-forward grapefruit flavour, followed by notes of light fruits and grains. |

386 | Ceres Royal Selection | Denmark | Helles / Dortmunder | 1.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 I assume that the target audience for this beer is high school kids looking to get a huge buzz on for a Saturday night, or prior to the high school dance. This is a malt liquor. It is clear gold in colour and all you can really smell is alcohol. Not much in the way of grains or hops are present unfortunately. |

387 | A. Le Coq Premium | Estonia | Pale Lager | 2.4
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Purchased at Liquor Control Board of Ontario store. It’s a clear gold colour with a white head. There are notes of biscuit malts, and earthy hops, and a little bit of spice. The flavour is quite bitter with acidic and metallic malty notes. Easily avoided. |

390 | Schneider Weisse Aventinus Weizen-Eisbock | Germany | Eisbock | 4.4
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8 THis deep mahogany pour is one awesome beer. A thin tight tan head tops it off....wisps of sweet wheat malt, banana and compliment one another as it tingles on the senses. A slightly sweet flavour greets the tongue with hints of light fruit followed by a bitter finish. Very little alcohol evidence for 12% |

391 | Schneider Weisse Tap 6: Aventinus Weizen Doppelbock | Germany | Weizenbock | 4.4
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 The Schneider Weisse original has always been a favourite of mine and recently I've had the chance to try the dopple and eisbocks. Neither was a letdown. The beer is brown, hazy, and smells of wheat and maple syrup. The flavour is sweet wehat malt, some spices, and light fruit. |

392 | Weihenstephaner / Samuel Adams Infinium | Germany | Belgian Strong Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 The most expensive beer at the LCBO, anfd aside from the swill, probably the worst. I did not enjoy this at all. The beer poured a cloudy golden-orange with a huge frothy head. Lots of yeast and spice in the aroma, light fruit such as apricot and apple, and hops. Maybe a little too much going on. A coarse champagne palate with flavours of grain, hops, yeast, and citrus. Very dry. |

393 | Hofbrau Munchen Kindl Weissbier (Hefe Weizen) / Hofbräu Munchen Kindl Weissbier (Hefe Weizen) | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. A hazy golden pour with a generous white head. The aroma has notes of clove, banana, and wheat....maybe a little more clove than most. The flavour is slightly sweet, the wheat and spices certainly come through. Very good Hefe |

395 | Ayinger Celebrator Dopplebock | Germany | Doppelbock | 4.6
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 Too bad this beer isn't available year rtound because I could drink this every day. A beautiful dark brown pour with a mid-sized off-white head enters the glass. Fresh baked bread, plums, and chocolate are the primary aromatic components. Flavour is fantastic for the style with a well balanced palate between the malty sweetness,m and the bitter hoppish finish. I love this beer. |

396 | Beck's | Germany | Lager | 2.0
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 I can recall that growing up during the 70s, that people considered this 'the best beer in the world'. I can recall first tasting it during the late 70s and thinking it was so much better than a Molson Export or Canadian or a Labatt Blue or 50. Today, I would take any one of those beers over a Beck's. Everything is typical of a North AMerican pale lager from the pale gold colour, to the phenol aromas, to the corny taste. Nothing to make it premium any more. |

397 | Jever Pilsener | Germany | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 A recent find at the provincial liquor outlet and featured in the glossy monthly magazine. Canned, and pours into the glass as a clear light gold liquid. Cereal malt dominates the aromatics with ample hoppy tones. The flavour is nicely balanced between with malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness. Not bad for $2 beer. |

398 | Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Marzen | Germany | Rauchbier | 3.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Tried in Germany. Pours a beautiful copper colour, almost clear, and a generous white head. The smoky wood aroma hits you as soon as the cap somes off. Notes of light fruit, malt, and earthy hops also apparent. The flavour has bacon-like notes in it, as well as fruit and grains. The smokiness certainly takes away from the Marzen character. |

399 | Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Urbock | Germany | Rauchbier | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 Tried in Germany. Pours a clear mud-brown colour with an off-white creamy head. Notes of bacon, wood, grains, yeast, and dark fruits in the aroma. Flavour has the smokiness rather subdued compared to the Marzen and Weizen (maybe if urbock had a ‘z’) with fruit and caramel hints dominating. |

400 | Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Weizen | Germany | Rauchbier | 4.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 Tried in Germany. This pours a cloudy golden-brown colour with a loose off-white head that doesn’t last. Burnt wood, light fruits, and wheat comprise the aroma of this beer. The burnt wood/bacon notes dominate the flavour leaving the fruitiness of the wheat behind. The favourite of the Aecht Schlenkerlas for me. |
