401 McAuslan St. Ambroise Stout Impériale Russe / McAuslan St. Ambroise Russian Imperial Stout Canada Imperial Stout 4.6

Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

If there is one thing that McAusland does well, it is stouts. Between their world class Oatmeal Stout and this, one would be quite content! Blackest stout in Canada with lots of roasted coffee and chocolate notes in both the aroma and flavour. Great body!

402 McAuslan St. Ambroise Millésimée / McAuslan St. Ambroise Vintage Ale Canada English Barleywine 4.5

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9

Who doesn’t like a good barleywine? Everybody I know loves a good strong well made barleywine. This is one of Canada’s finest barleywines. It pours a clear rust colour with a creamy thin light brown coloured cap. Lots of caramel and sweet malt in the aroma with hints of dark fruit and herbal hops. Flavour is a nice balance between the sweet caramel and toffee notes and the earthy hoppy and spice notes. Highly recommended.

403 McAuslan St. Ambroise Citrouille / McAuslan St. Ambroise Pumpkin Canada Spiced Beer 3.7

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Pumpkin ales in the fall are becoming a tradition in Canada, unfortunately far too many brewers don’t know how to make them. That number is growing every year. McAuslan on the other hand, knows how to make a little bit of everything including pumpkin. And while this murky light orange coloured beer doesn’t smell like a fresh baked pumpkin pie, the pumpkin and spice notes are delicately placed in both the flavour and aroma where they should be. Better on draught than bottles!

404 McAuslan St. Ambroise L'Écosse (Scotch Ale) Canada Scottish Ale 4.1

Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

This is the finest Canadian brewed scotch ale available regularly in Canada. It pours a dark mahogany colour, almost solid, with a creamy light brown cap. Molasses, vanilla, caramel, and smoked wood provide a nice aroma, and the flavour doesn’t let you down. A nice sweet scotch ale with the sweet sugar and molasses notes balanced by the smoked wood and hops.

405 McAuslan St. Ambroise Blé de L'Apricot / McAuslan St. Ambroise Apricot Wheat Canada American Wheat 3.4

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Apricots are one of those fruits that has a very memorable earthy flavour, and McAuslan has succeeded in turning that dominant flavour into a subtly flavoured wheat beer. A nice golden pour, the real in your face attitude comes in the subtle notes of apricot in the aroma and flavour, yet the wheat notes are still very much alove. A fruity American Wheat style at it’s finest.

406 Alexander Keith's Ambrosia Blonde Canada Blonde Ale 2.3

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4

Everywhere you go in Canada, people are drinking Alexander Keith's this or that.....I admit it, I've done it myself. This is one of their newer nectars, very clear, somewhat sudsy. The nose is very metallic with a lot of skunk. Flavour is on the sweet side, quite malty.

407 Alexander Keith's Dark Ale Canada Brown Ale 2.3

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4

I've seen this beer described by the brewery as a stout, as a porter, and as a dark ale. Regardless of how you describe it, it's still quite bad. A dark brown colour with some clarity, topped off with a small thin head. A bit of roasted malt in the nose and the flavour, yet very thin. Quite watery flavour.

408 Alexander Keith's Harvest Ale Canada Amber Ale 2.0

Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4

I have to admit, I actually sought out this beer on the advice of a friend who said it was quite good (he's a craft beer enthusiast). I'm convinced that whatever he was served wasn't this because this was crap. A light brown pour with a weak tan head. Malty aroma with weak toffee tones. Flavour was quite thin, a little on the sweet side, not much else to say.

409 Alexander Keith's Honey Brown Ale Canada Brown Ale 1.9

Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 4

The first negative thing I noticed about this beer was that it was the same colour as diarrhea (and that is never a good thing). The second negative thing I noticed about this beer was the metallic aroma. I found no honey. Same with the flavour, on the sweet side but no honey.

410 Muskoka Cream Ale Canada Cream Ale 3.9

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

This is a summer favourite. I've had it on draught and canned and both are good. It's not a heavy beer, but is full flavoured and crisp. Like I said, a great summer beer.

411 Muskoka Mad Tom IPA Canada IPA 4.0

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Another new IPA this summer from the wonderful people at the LOMCB. Not as bitter as the Cabin Fever, but better balanced. A bit bitter to be a summer thirst quencher, but a very good beer overall.

412 Muskoka Hefe Weissbier Canada Hefeweizen 3.4

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

A middle of the road German style wheat beer available in Ontario. A little weak on the banana and clove notes, but still quite refreshing. Worth a try!

413 Muskoka Harvest Ale Canada English Pale Ale 3.6

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

This is a pretty decent beer with a lot of colour and a good hoppy aroma. Flavour is nicely balanced with a good malt bite. Made with local ingredients!

414 Rickard's Pale Ale Canada American Pale Ale 2.5

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5

I have never been a fan of this beer, it's also not one you see around all that often. I have it every once in a while, but there is nothing outstanding about it.

415 Molson Stock Ale Canada Blonde Ale 3.0

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

THis was a great beer in the 80s, but I try it every once in a while now when I can get it, and it doesn't seem the same. It always had a 'bite' that other Molbatt beers were missing.

416 Carling Old Vienna / Molson OV Canada Pale Lager 1.7

Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3

This is a beer I have never enjoyed, either as a Carling O'Keefe product, or it's later Molson days. It's one of those beers that you order late night at a half empty bar when you want a drink, and they are out of everything else!

You can't go to Western Canada without trying this shit, er beer. There are very good reasons why this beer is not available in Eastern Canada, and I hope it stays that way....musky describes it well.

418 Molson M Canada Lager 1.7

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3

I'm not sure what Molson's marketing plan is with this one. I'm not sure it has the taste to stick around all that long regardless of how many commercials I see on TV.

You gotta have heart..........miles and miles and miles of heart. If you want a beer with great taste, there's only one place to start.....Molson Light has got heart! The beer is forgettable...........the jingle is not.

420 Molson Ice Canada Pale Lager 1.8

Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3

This is wretched stuff that will turn your stomach if you drink enough of it. It was originally marketed in the US as Black Ice, before the 'real' Black Ice came.

421 Molson Golden Canada Pale Lager 2.4

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4

Another one of my go to beers in the 80s as this was one of the brands that Molson was really pushing. I see it more often in America than Canada, and I have to try it because it makes me feel like I'm home

422 Molson Exel Canada Reduced Alcohol 1.3

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 2 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 2

This tastes like weak cider and should be avoided like the plague. Nowhere near the flavour and aroma of European non-alcoholics, instead it's a drainpourer's paradise.

423 Molson Dry Canada Pale Lager 3.3

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6

I've had my share of this beer, certainly enough to last a lifetime. It had a more pronounced flavour in the mid 90s than it has today, which is sad because it used to be better.

424 Molson Canadian Light Canada Light / Lite Lager 1.6

Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3

I noticed the can in the picture and I have never ever seen this in a can. It's a typical Canadian light lager which tastes like watered down Canadian. Best avoided.

425 Molson Club Ale Canada Blonde Ale 2.1

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4

This has always been a hard beer to find, yet it's been around my entire life. A weak bodied pale lager that gets no love....I wish I could find it as often as other Molson products.
