351 | Renaissance Perfection | New Zealand | English Pale Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 So, the American Pale Ale is under strength, and an over strength English Pale Ale is their so called perfection. Nope, can't tell that New Zealand's a Commonwealth country. A deep amber pour, slightly hazed, is topped off by a thin cream coloured cap. Aroma has some floral hop notes, some caramel, and some grains. Not very inviting. Flavour however is very well balanced between the hops and malt and is quite good, yet somehow, still not perfect. |

352 | Renaissance Stonecutter Scotch Ale | New Zealand | Scottish Ale | 4.4
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 It is very hard to go wrong with a well made Scotch ale, and this is a well made Scotch ale. A clear reddish-brown colour, dark, with a creamy tan coloured cap. Aroma is peat, smoky, and fruity with some molasses thrown in for good measure. Flavour is sweet malt, molasses, and the smokiness is noticed on the tongue. This needs to be a regular at the LCBO. |

353 | Renaissance Voyager | New Zealand | IPA | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This is the New Zealand version of the British version of an IPA. A clear amber colured pour with a small tan head, very similar to the MPA had last night. Aroma is more citrusy than piney, with spices and caramel present. Flavour is quite similar to the MPA as well with caramel, citrus, and spices. The flavours in the MPA were definitely 'fuller' however. |

354 | Mikkeller The Canadian Dream | Denmark | Lager | 4.0
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Part of the 2013 Summer LCBO Release. A clouded golden orange pour topped with a huge white head, just like you see on a Canadian beer commercial. Aroma is slightly more citrusy than your typical Canadian lager. Flavour is quite malty, yet the hops are definitely present. Great job Mikkeller! |

355 | Hofbrau Munchen Kindl Weissbier (Hefe Weizen) / Hofbräu Munchen Kindl Weissbier (Hefe Weizen) | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. A hazy golden pour with a generous white head. The aroma has notes of clove, banana, and wheat....maybe a little more clove than most. The flavour is slightly sweet, the wheat and spices certainly come through. Very good Hefe |

356 | Abbaye des Rocs Blanche des Honnelles | Belgium | Witbier | 3.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This is the darkest witbier I think I have ever seen. A dark golden haze topped by a whitish cap. Aroma is on the spicy end of a witbier, although the wheat and citrus is still there. The flavour is quite peppery up front, but finishes smoothly with wheat. |

357 | Thornbridge Kipling South Pacific Pale Ale | United Kingdom | American Pale Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. A slightly cloudy golden pour is topped with a rather large white head. Tropical fruit rules the roost from an aroma perspective with some malt and spices also present. The tropical fruit and citrus dominate the flavour with not much of the malt seen here. Quite refreshing, but nothing outstanding. |

358 | Howe Sound King Heffy Imperial Hefeweizen | Canada | Hefeweizen | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. Sometimes I question a brewer's sanity when everything they send you is in 1 litre bottles, and is an imperial something or other. This seems to be the modus operandi of Howe Sound. Beer is a hazed golden orange in colour, head is slightly off-white, but thick and lasts. The wheat, banana, and cloves are certainly apparent in the aroma. Maybe some alcohol as well. The flavour is very Germanic, wheat, yeast, and spices.....but there is a definite alcohol presence as well. |

359 | Ommegang Hennepin | United States | Saison | 4.2
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. An American saison, been a while since I had one. Looks like a saison with a heavily hazed golden orange pour. Head is white, not that big. Aroma is a garden on a wet morning, with some citrus and spices added to increase the palatability. The funk really comes through in the flavour however, dominating the malt and hops. A really great beer. |

360 | Charlevoix Dominus Vobiscum Saison | Canada | Saison | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. I like the Dominus Vobiscum series of brews and this is no exception. A murky gold pour, lots of effervescence, and a tight creamy white head to top it off. Yeast, spices, and grains dominate the aroma, not much in the way of funk here. Flavour is similar to the smell, not a lot of funk to offset the yeast and spicy notes, but that increases the drinkability. |

361 | Nøgne Ø Saison | Norway | Saison | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. This surprised me as I was expecting some sort of twist on the typical saison and ended up with a typical saison. A cloudy golden pour with a thin white ring for a cap. Aroma was funky with spices and herbal hops. Flavour was slightly yeasty, with funk and grains thrown in, quite refreshing. |

362 | Bush Blonde | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. I hope this is the right beer as my bottle says Scaldis Extra Blonde Tripel. Anyway with a hazed gold with a huge white head. Quite a bit of effervescence. Aroma is yeast, citrus, grains, and spices. Flavour is sweet for a tripel, almost a caramel sweetness. There is still the yeast, spices, and citrus but the caramel bites you in the tongue. |

363 | Le Trou du Diable Shawinigan Handshake | Canada | Weizenbock | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. The beer pours a murky rust colour with a thick creamy white head. The bottle says the colour is peach. I haven't seen a Quebec peach that looks like this before. Aroma is bananas, spices, a little alcohol and some out of place funky notes. The flavour is a tad sweet for a Weizenbock, overpowers the wheat and yeasty notes. |

364 | Houblon Chouffe Dobbelen IPA Tripel | Belgium | Abbey Tripel | 4.4
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. A huge frothy white head sits atop a cloudy golden pour of beer with lots of floaties. Looks good. Yeast, citrus, and spices dominate the aroma with the herbal hop notes more of an afterthought. The flavour is undeniably tripel-like with yeast and spices coming out on top. Great beer. |

365 | Alchemist Heady Topper | United States | Imperial IPA | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 An IPA in a can. Have heard a lot of fuss about this beer so drove down to the brewery to get some (and a couple of other Alchemist brews). Pours a very hazed dark golden-orange with a creamy white cap and tons of floaties. Aroma was pine and citrus, some caramalts. Flavour was similar, very easy to drink. Not sure why it's rated so high though as I didn't find anything outstanding about it. |

366 | Alchemist Luscious | United States | Imperial Stout | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Bottle is 18 months month old, although you wouldn't know it. A very dark brown with black edges and creamy brown cap make up the appearance, quite elegant. The aroma was dark chocolate, vanilla, black licorice, and coffee. The flavour was a decadent mix of roasted coffee, molasses, licorice, and chocolate. Too decadent to be great however. |

367 | Alchemist Celia Saison | United States | Saison | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 The best gluten free beer I've ever tried, bar none. Hazy orange in colour with a small tight white head. Aroma is citrus zest and spices and some funk (but not wheat derived funk). Flavour is tad on the sweet fruity side with some yeast and funk in the mix. If you're gluten free, this is the beer for you! |

368 | Southern Tier Imperial Mokah | United States | Imperial Stout | 3.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Part of the 2012 LCBO Fall Release. ABV on bottle is 11.2%. A nice black pour with a small tan cap. Lots of coffee and chocolate in the aroma. Alcohol is present in the taste along with a hint of coffee and chocolate. The label says this is a mix of the Java and Choklat. Having never tried either of those, this doesn't make me want to try them at all. |

369 | Mount Begbie Nasty Habit | Canada | IPA | 4.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Part of the 2012 LCBO Fall Seasonals. This one is great. A lot of hops are coming through in the aroma as well as some pine and caramel. Amber coloured, off-white head. Flavour has more of those delicious hops. I could make this a daily beer if it was more than a Fall seasonal. |

370 | Black Creek Pumpkin Ale | Canada | Spiced Beer | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Part of the 2012 LCBO Fall Seasonal lineup. Not a huge fan of pumpkin beers and this is one of three at the LCBO this fall. A copper coloured ale with a decent sized cap. Pumpkin pie is in the aroma and the flavour. Spices are noticeably weak leaving this a beer to avoid. |

371 | Howe Sound Pumpkineater Imperial Pumpkin Ale | Canada | Spiced Beer | 2.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 6 First of all, what's with the 1 litre bottle? They must know it's too much to drink because it comes with a flip top stopper. I didn't really dig this beer. Felt very acidic on the tongue. Bottle date is August so unless it went off quickly, I'm avoiding this one. Not worth it buying another bottle to see if maybe thre first was flawed as I'm not into pumkin beers. |

374 | Chimay Grande Réserve (Blue) | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 RateBeer tells me that this is one of the world's finest beers, and I have to agree. A solid dark brown pour with huge aroma and flavour...........baked bread, yeast, dark fruits, and dark malt. Made in the right combinations and you have a great beer! |

375 | Chimay Cinq Cents (White) | Belgium | Abbey Tripel | 4.4
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Like the other Chimay offerings, this shows up at the LCBO every once in a while, which is good because it's a treat in itself. Tripels can run the gammut of being a good stroing Belgian blonde, to a wimpy saison. This is the former. Citrus, spices and yeast are what this beer is all about! |
