251 Guinness Original (bottle) Ireland Dry Stout 4.6

Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9

Like the Guinness Draught, hard to believe I've not rated this before, and since it really is just the draught in the bottle (according to the brewery), I'll give it the same ratings I gave the draught.

252 Kokanee Canada Lager 2.3

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5

I've tried this beer several times over the years but just getting around to rating it now. It is a transparent beerl golden-orange in colour, with a frothy white head. Lots of garins in the nose with hints of herbal hops. Flavour is metallic grains and acidic hops. Not worth trying again....but I know it will happen.

253 Efes Pilsener Turkey Lager 1.2

Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 2

Everywhere you go in Turkiye, this is the beer you find. It literally is everywhere. Unfortunately there is nothing new to say that already hasn't been said. Clear gold in colour, weak white cap that can't keep itself alive despite excessive carbonation. Nose is cereal grains, weak earthy hops. Flavour is weak giving the impression that this beer may be a lot less than 5% ABV.

254 Deschutes Black Butte Porter United States Porter 4.5

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

I've heard this is much better on draught than in the bottle unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to try it that way, so bottle it is. The beer has a coca-cola appearance to it with a black body and glowing brown edges. The head is creamy, dark brown in colour. The nose picks up hints of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, and hints of anise. The flavour is quite complex and similar to the aroma. Lots of malty goodness in this one!

255 Old Tomorrow Canadian Pale Ale Canada American Pale Ale 3.1

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

The shellac or whatever it is on the can is a turn-off, almost made me put it back on the shelf. The beer is clear, amber in colour, with a decent sized head, which is whitish in colour. Heavy caramel atoma, some biscuity notes, and some earthy hops. The taste is very malty, grains aplenty with hints of sweet caramel and bitter citrus. Not something I would try again.

256 Old Tomorrow Monty's Golden Ryed Ale Canada Rye Beer 3.1

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

The second bneer by these guys this week, and just as unmemoprable as the first. Colour is clear, light amber, with a light ecru coloured cap. Herbal notes dominate the aroma with hints of rye, peppery notes, and cereal malts. Flavour is 'meh' at best. Lots there to taste like rye, citrus, caramel, and spices, but none of it stands out as dominant enough to mae me want more.

257 Dogfish Head World Wide Stout United States Imperial Stout 5.0

Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10

One word to describe this elixer....stupendous. The pours is a very dark brown with black edges, and a creamy brown cap that lasts throughout. Lots of chocolate and coffee in the aroma, and a second sniff reveals some dark cherry hints. A well balanced flavour profile with chocolate and fruit notes up front, and bitter coffee notes in the finish. Stupendous! Best beer I have had in a long time.

258 Guinness Stout Ireland Dry Stout 4.6

Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

This is a go to beer for just about everybody I know. I can't really complain about that as it is my go to beer as well when I visit places that don't have any non-BMC on tap. There is nothing new to what's already been said about this about this beer that I can add. Just an all round very good beer. As it is the stout by which all other stouts are measured (according to Stone Brewing's Greg Koch) I have to give it a 10 for appearance!

259 Bellwoods Boot Knife Canada Belgian Ale 3.9

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Is this a Belgian Ale or a Brown Ale? I see it listed as both from time to time. It came to me on draught as a murky dark brown with a foamy brown head. The first thing the nose senses is the yeast, followed by coffee, roasted malt, and brown sugar notes. The beer is a tad sweet with notes of raisins, sugar, and chocolate being prevalent. Worth trying again though.

260 Cannery Brewing Maple Stout Canada Stout 4.0

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

The beer pours a solid brown colour with a decent sized light brown head. The nose notices whiffs of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt, and maple....definitely maple. Quite sweet to start with maple and chocolate notes, but the coffee flavours kick in at the finish. Nicely balanced.

261 Bell City Eureka Cream Ale Canada Cream Ale 3.1

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

A canned beer and the can feels funny, not sure what they finish it with but the can has an enamel feel. The beer pours a clear copper colour with a generous thick foamy white head. Toffee, sour grains, and light fruit make up the aromatic qualities of this beer. Flavour is metallic caramel with grains

262 Bell City Lenoir Belgian Ale Canada Belgian Ale 2.5

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5

If this is Tuesday, it must be Belgium. Sadly though, it's Monday and this beer is as Belgian as Kanye West. A murky golden rust colour with a weak light tan coloured head. The aroma is very grainy with citrus, yeast, and furniture polish in the mnix. It tastes like a weak alcoholic fruit drink. No yeast, no grains in the flavour.

263 Black Mesa Brewing Double ESB United States English Strong Ale 3.5

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

The beer pours a clear copper colour with a thick slightly off-white head that lingers. Toffee and floral hops make up most of the aroma with cereal malt in the mix. A nice warming sweet butterscotch flavour with a decent bitter hoppy finish. The bottle says 9.6%, but it's well hidden in both the aroma and flavour. Impressive.

264 Zywiec Poland Lager 2.1

Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4

They say you need to try everything under the sun in order top appreciate it. Well, I tried Zywiec, and I didn't appreciate it. It poured a clear pale straw yellow in colour with a huge white head. Lots of corn and sweet malt in the aroma, not much in the way of hops. The taste was very typical of Polish lagers, a tad sweet for me.

265 Ilkley The Mayan United Kingdom Chocolate Stout 3.4

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

I clearly did not read the bottle carefully, especially the part where it says 'chipotle'. I admit, I was taken very much by surprise by that. A dark brown pour, a littlen on the thin side with a chocolate brown cap. Coffee and chocolate dominate the aroma. The flavour is dominated by notes of coffee, roasted malt, and nuts...and then comes tyhe chipotle pepper, chugging down your throat like a French bullet train.

266 Alexander Keith's Hop Series: Saphir Canada American Pale Ale 2.4

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4

The most recent beer I've tried from the not so wonderful Alexander Keith Hop series of beers. A red-tinged gold in appearance, head is white, lacing is non-existent. Aroma is herbal and spicy with cereal malts. Flavour is metallic with weak herbal hoppy notes.

267 Amsterdam Natural Blonde Lager Canada Lager 3.1

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

I've had several Amsterdam products over the years and I can't believe this is the first I've rated. A clear yellow beer with a white head. Lots of biscuit malt and flowery hops in the nose. A rather bland grainy lager that was reminiscent of Canadian craft brewers late in the 20th century.

268 Ayinger Oktober Fest-Märzen Germany Marzen / Oktoberfest 3.8

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

A recent find at my local LCBO outlet. Always been impressed with Ayinger products in the past. Honey gold in apperance, head is light and bubbly. Lacing is generous down the glass. Sweet grains dominate the nose with light hoppy notes. Flavour is mild sweet cereal grains and a slight bitter hoppy finish. Highly recommended

269 Beau's All Natural / Kissmeyer Nordic Pale Ale Canada Spiced Beer 3.6

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Local brewer but their product can be difficult to drink because they are very loose in their interpretation of styles. Light golden colour, slight murkiness, and a weak off-white cap. Aroma is floral and herbal with yeast and sweet malt in the background. Flavour is herbal with some up front malty notes. A nice effort, and certainly something different.

270 Epic Epicurean Coffee & Fig Oatmeal Stout New Zealand Imperial Stout 4.7

Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

An easy drinking Imperial Stout. Good dark brown colour and a decent sized creamy head. Lots of dark fruit and roasted notes in the nose, and the taste is similar. Price will scare people off though.

271 Big Rig Bock Me Gently Canada Weizenbock 3.4

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6

I don't usually buy canned beer these days, but sometimes you can make an exception. As described oin the can, the beer is a clear copper colour. Molasses and caramel best describe the aroma and the flavour. There might be too much bitterness in the finish, but Big Rig isn't known for their finesse in making beer.

272 Alexander Keith's Hop Series: Celeia Canada American Pale Ale 2.7

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5

The Alkexander Keith hop series has been a massive faailure among craft beer drinkers. While I am sure it is a well-intentioned attempt to win back clients by making a better quality beer, there are others who are looking at it as a cowardly feeble attempt to play with craft guys. Unfortunately craft beer drinkers think the quality falls far short of expectations and Keith's drinkers think this is a waste of money that could be spent on their IPA. This is an orange coloured beer with a white head. Aroma is certainly hoppy, mixed with typical cereal malt off smells. Flavour is a tad malty for a beer showing off a hop.

273 Barbar Belgian Honey Ale / Barbar Blonde Belgium Belgian Strong Ale 3.6

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Not sure if this contains actual honey or not. It pours a deep gold colour with a thin white cap. The aroma is quite grainly with notes of spices, especially coriander and pepper. There is no noticeable alcohol in the nose or palate despite the 8% ABV. Flavour is noticeable spice with grain notes and a touch of malty sweetness.

274 Barbar Winter Bok Belgium Bock 4.1

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

One can never go wrong with a dark beer.,…right? This beer pours with a dark brown pour with a light brown cap that sticks around. There is some roasted malt in the nose with hints of caramel, yeast, and spices. The flavour is as complex as the aroma with notes of coffee, caramel, yeast, and honey. I could drink a lot of this if it wasn’t 8.5%

275 Berthold Keller Premium Lager Belgium Lager 1.7

Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3

I can say, without hesitation, that this beer was pure shit! Not sure what I was expecting from a Belgian lager. The beer pours a very pale yellow-gold with a huge white cap that disappears faster than a cockroach in the light. Lots of sour grains in the aroma with a weak hoppish note. Not a lot of good flavours in this, lots of acidic and metallic notes that make this a drain pour.
