476 | Rodenbach Grand Cru | Belgium | Flanders Red | 4.7
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 An ezquisite Flemish sour by any definition of the style. A cool looking copper colour with a big-bubbled pinkish head. The aroma was tart cherries, some vinegar, and cereal malt. The taste is amazing, tart fruit up front (or sides I guess), followed by a lingering bitter finish. |

477 | Weyerbacher Double Simcoe IPA | United States | Imperial IPA | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 If this was just an IPA, it would be a great beer, but it falls short on the 'Imperial' nature. A murky orange-gold pour with a thin creamy light tan head with a citrusy hop aroma, some spices, and some sweet malt. The flavour is a good bitter citrusy tone but not too strong. I could have used more bitterness for the 'Imperial' to be taken seriously |

478 | Russian River Pliny the Younger | United States | Imperial IPA | 3.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 The best thing about this beer is the ornamental lamp-like growler. After you finish the beer you can put a candle in it. A golden beer, almost clear, and plenty of head. The aroma is citrusy hops, some malt, but definitely hoppy. The flavour is all hops, and not very well balanced. |

479 | Bell's Hopslam | United States | Imperial IPA | 4.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 I think this could be my favourite beer if it was available in Canada (or anywhere outside of Michigan). A nicely balanced Imperial IPA that has enough malt backbone to keep me happy, while still having all the hop-forwardness I want from an Imperial IPA. Excellent beer. |

480 | BrewDog Tokyo* | United Kingdom | Imperial Stout | 3.1
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 A powerful beer, but one of the thinnest watery stouts I have ever come across. It pours a motor oil black, but with a thinner consistency than say a DFH World Wide Stout. No head at all. Alcohol and roasted malt dominate the aroma, but one can also notice hints of vanilla, coffee, and molasses. The flavour is very sweet with more than a hint of alcohol. Not very balanced. Another epic failure by BrewDog |

481 | BrewDog Punk IPA | United Kingdom | IPA | 2.8
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 This beer is popping up everywhere, and it's nothing special. Pale gold in colour, small white head, and even it goes away quickly. The aroma is very piney, some citrus and floral notes and malt. The flavour is what it is....grassy malt up front, and a hoppy ending. |

482 | Deschutes The Abyss | United States | Imperial Stout | 3.3
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 I had a hard time getting this, and now that I have it, I feel like I've wasted my money. A decent Imperial Stout, but not a great one. Not a lot of complexity in the aroma or flavour, and certainly nothing that makes it stand out from the crowd. Very black with a creamy brown head. Typical stout aroma with roasted malt, coffee, and vanilla. The flavour is more of the same. No wow factor here. I think Thomassova hit it on the head when he said 'overrated'. At best...average aside from colour! |

483 | Rochefort Trappistes 10 | Belgium | Abbey Quadrupel | 4.9
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 This is an excellent beer, I've always passed over it for some reason or another. Cloudy dark brown in colour, ruby hints at the edges and a thin white ring. The aroma knocked me out....plums, apples, pears, sugar, and sweet malt. The flavour was more of the same. No hint of alcohol (or hops). Heavenly! |

484 | Orval | Belgium | Belgian Ale | 4.6
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 This is the beer of Gods. It looks like a beer, and tastes great. A hazy golden ale with a huge white cap that has the texture of the rocky mountains. Belgian yeast is the prevalent odour along with some fruit and peppery spices. The flavour is both unique and complex. Citrusy hints balance out the yeastiness and it all ends with a bittering finish. |

485 | McAuslan St. Ambroise Noire à L'Avoine / McAuslan St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout | Canada | Oatmeal Stout | 4.9
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 I've been told that this is the best beer in Canada and I believe it. It pours black with brown hints, and a thick dark brown head that lingers. The nose is greeted with a roasted malt, coffee, chicory, some licorice, and cocoa. The tongue is greeted with a complex concoction of coffee, chocolate, molasses, and licorice and finished off with whack of bitterness. |

486 | Schneider Weisse Aventinus Weizen-Eisbock | Germany | Eisbock | 4.4
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8 THis deep mahogany pour is one awesome beer. A thin tight tan head tops it off....wisps of sweet wheat malt, banana and compliment one another as it tingles on the senses. A slightly sweet flavour greets the tongue with hints of light fruit followed by a bitter finish. Very little alcohol evidence for 12% |

487 | Schneider Weisse Tap 6: Aventinus Weizen Doppelbock | Germany | Weizenbock | 4.4
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 The Schneider Weisse original has always been a favourite of mine and recently I've had the chance to try the dopple and eisbocks. Neither was a letdown. The beer is brown, hazy, and smells of wheat and maple syrup. The flavour is sweet wehat malt, some spices, and light fruit. |

488 | Young's Double Chocolate Stout | United Kingdom | Chocolate Stout | 5.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 Recently a few friends and I did a taste test on several Chocolate Stouts, and this was the winner by far. A great beer with some great colour, great aromas of coffee and chocolate, and a huge whallop of flavour to back it up. A perfect level of bitterness. |

495 | Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA | United States | Imperial IPA | 5.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 I was so unimpressed with the DFH 120 minute that I hesitated in buying the DFH 60 minute. I was so enamoured with the DFH 60 minute that I had to buy the DFH 90 minute. This is one of my favourite beers. The hoppy aroma and flavour are near perfection! |

496 | Duvel | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Ugh. It was all I could do to get this one down. A nice tripel style Belgian with it's hazy golden colour and huge rocky white head. The aroma is bready malt and a lot of spice...too much spice. The flavour was very peppery and took away from any malt and hop character I could otherwise detect. |

498 | Lion Stout (Sinha Stout) | Sri Lanka | Foreign / Extra Stout | 4.8
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 This is a great beer. Who would have thought that a country strife with warring factions could brew a beer that is this good. A deep black colour gioves way to a huge coffee and licorice aroma. The taste is bold and clean, and the finish leaves you wanting more. |

500 | Unibroue 10 | Canada | Abbey Tripel | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This was the first of the anniversary ales if I'm correct and has long since been retired. The beer started off wee as it poured a nice hazy golden brown. The aroma was very complex, sweet malt, some grains, spices, and some fruit. The flavour was also very complex, but less so than the aroma. The flavour had a hoppish bite as well. |
