101 | Bellwoods Boot Knife | Canada | Belgian Ale | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Is this a Belgian Ale or a Brown Ale? I see it listed as both from time to time. It came to me on draught as a murky dark brown with a foamy brown head. The first thing the nose senses is the yeast, followed by coffee, roasted malt, and brown sugar notes. The beer is a tad sweet with notes of raisins, sugar, and chocolate being prevalent. Worth trying again though. |

103 | Berthold Keller Premium Lager | Belgium | Lager | 1.7
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 I can say, without hesitation, that this beer was pure shit! Not sure what I was expecting from a Belgian lager. The beer pours a very pale yellow-gold with a huge white cap that disappears faster than a cockroach in the light. Lots of sour grains in the aroma with a weak hoppish note. Not a lot of good flavours in this, lots of acidic and metallic notes that make this a drain pour. |

104 | Biere du Boucanier Blonde Ale | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 A very strong beer and the alcohol is noticeable in both the aroma and the flavour. A clouded medium gold pour with a weak white cap. The aroma is dominated by malt and yeast with the alcohol overpowering the spices and yeast. Flavour is grains and alcohol with the yeast and spices secondary. |

105 | Biere du Boucanier Dark Ale | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 A rust coloured beer that is still dominated by the alcohol. There is almost no head. The aroma is dominated by yeast and caramel scents with cereal malts and alcohol in the mix. The flavour has a sweet tang to it with noticeable alcohol presence and yeast and caramel flavours as well |

106 | Biere du Boucanier Red Ale | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Part of an annual Christmas pack available at the LCBO. This pours a slightly less red than the Dark, although the head tends to be larger. The aroma is slightly fruity with notes of ropasted malt, caramel, and yeast. RThe flavour is like the aroma, with a very bitter long lasting aftertaste. |

107 | Big Rig Bock Me Gently | Canada | Weizenbock | 3.4
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 I don't usually buy canned beer these days, but sometimes you can make an exception. As described oin the can, the beer is a clear copper colour. Molasses and caramel best describe the aroma and the flavour. There might be too much bitterness in the finish, but Big Rig isn't known for their finesse in making beer. |

108 | Big Rig Gold | Canada | Kölsch | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 One of my local breweries, but unfortunately they still haven’t found out the meaning of quality control. You can come back to the same beer week after week and notice huge differences in both colour and flavour. The beer is usually a medium to dark gold with a slight off-white head. Aroma is usually cereal mnalt with some floral fragrant hops. Flavour is usually on the malty side with a hoppy balance in the finish. |

109 | Big Rock Grasshopper Wheat Ale | Canada | American Wheat | 3.3
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This is a golden-yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is weakly malty with just a hint of wheat. The mouthfeel is thin, with champagne-like carbonation. The flavour is complex, malty, hoppy, and wheaty tones all come through resulting in a very drinkable beer. |

110 | Big Rock India Pale Ale | Canada | IPA | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 A recent discovery for me as I was unaware that Big Rock had done a pale ale. The beer pours a red-tinged golden colour, clear, with a snow white ring for a head. Aroma is very malty with weak hints of citrusy hops. Like the aroma, the flavour falls short by being more on the malty side than on the hoppy side. Better than most Big Rock products however. |

111 | Big Rock McNally's Extra | Canada | Irish Ale | 3.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 This is a beautiful see-through reddish beer with an off-white head. Teh aroma is strong on the malt with very little hoppy tones, if any. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied, maybe a little high in carbonation. The flavour is a bit boring. More malrt than anything else with a hint of spice. |

112 | Big Rock Rhine Stone Cowboy Kölsch Style Ale | Canada | Kölsch | 2.0
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 I opened the bottle and I expected Glen Campbell to pop out and start singing. Being a fan of Glen Campbell, I would have liked that because this beer misses the point on everything else. It describes itself as a Kolsch, but has more of that blonde ale boringness attached to it. A very light gold colour with weak grainy aromas. Flavour is just not there, again, leaning towards the boring blonde ale malty style. |

113 | Big Rock Traditional Ale | Canada | Amber Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This beer is a reddish copper colour with a thin white head. The aroma is very malty with some caramel and hoppish tones. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and mild carbonation. The flavour was a combination of toffee and malt with a finishing kick of bitterness. |

114 | Big Rock Warthog Ale | Canada | Brown Ale | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 This is Big Rock's version of Newcastle Brown Ale, only it's a superior brew in my opinion. The beer is brown with a tan coloured head. The aroma is malty and nutty with a slight hoppy hint. The mouthfeel is creamy with just mild carbonation and a dry bite. The flavour is nutty with a nice hoppish bite. |

115 | Birra Moretti | Italy | Lager | 2.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Every time I go to Italy, it is either this or Peroni that is the local draught. Both non-offensive, but neither worth drinking. The beer is a pale gold colour, clear, with a white head. The aroma is grains, and weak hops, with plenty of adjuncts. The flavour is typical of a North American pale lager with a grainy nature and plenty of off-notes. |

116 | Birra Moretti Baffo D’oro | Italy | Lager | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This is my Italian lager of choice, although not every Italian joint carries it. A deep gold colour with a thin white cap. The aroma is biscuit malts, some herbal hoppiness, and a slight citrus note. Flavour is quite malty with hints of weak spice and hops. An excellent Italian beer. |

117 | Birra Moretti La Rossa | Italy | Doppelbock | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Italian dopplebocks are quite rare, and this one isn’t that bad. A reddish brown pour with beige coloured head. The aroma is very malty with notes of sweet dark fruit, some rasted malt, nuts, and caramel. The beer has a malty sweetness to it that isn’t overpowering, yet at the same time has a dry nuttiness to it as well. |

118 | Birrificio del Ducato Bia IPA | Italy | IPA | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 The colour is typical of an American IPA with a cloudy golden orange and topped with a creamy beige head. Typical American IPA aroma with lots of pine, grapefruit, and toffee notes. Where it fails is in the flavour, not as robust or as hoppy as an American IPA with muted citrus and caramel notes. |

|
119 | Birrificio del Ducato Luna Rossa | Italy | Wild Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 A murky reddish brown pour with a weak tan coloured ring as a cap. Lots of tart cherry aroma, some yeast, some funk. Yeast and cherry dominate the flavour profile. The flavour does lack some balance between the sweetness and the tartness however. |

|
120 | Birrificio del Ducato Nuova Mattina / New Morning | Italy | Saison | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 The bottle is shaped like a small club, and when the bottle is full, probably makes a great weapon. I would think that saisons would be a great style for a country like Italy. A cloudy golden pour with lots of foam on top. Aroma is funky and spicy with tons of herbs in the mix. Flavour is spicy with notes of yeast, citrus, and earthy flavours. |

121 | Birrificio del Ducato Verdi Imperial Stout | Italy | Imperial Stout | 4.1
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 This is one dark pour. Coal black with a dark brown cap. Beautiful to look at. There is plenty of coffee, chocolate, and roast in the aroma to keep a stout lover happy. The flavour is very malty with a host of coffee and chocolate complexity. |

122 | Bitburger Drive | Germany | Reduced Alcohol | 2.6
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Pours a medium gold colour, clear, with a thin snow white head. Aroma is very similar to the regular Bitburger with cereal malt, herbal hops, and some yeast. Flavour is simply a weaker version of the Premium Pils, not offensively weak by any measure, but still weaker. |

|
123 | Bitburger Premium Pils | Germany | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 A deep gold pour, clear, with a frothy white head that you expect from a German lager. Biscuity malt, yeast, and herbal hops round out the aroma. Flavour is nicely balanced between the malt and hops, again, something you would expect from a German lager |

124 | Black Creek Pumpkin Ale | Canada | Spiced Beer | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Part of the 2012 LCBO Fall Seasonal lineup. Not a huge fan of pumpkin beers and this is one of three at the LCBO this fall. A copper coloured ale with a decent sized cap. Pumpkin pie is in the aroma and the flavour. Spices are noticeably weak leaving this a beer to avoid. |
