---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
76 | Baltika 7 (Export) | Russia | Lager | 2.1
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 Purchased at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario Store. This is a weak excuse for a beer. It pours a very pale gold colour with no head. The aroma is grass, weak floral hops, and yeast. The flavour is grainy malt, floral hops, and a hint of spiciness. |

77 | Baltika 9 (Extra) | Russia | Strong Lager | 2.3
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Purchased at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario Store. Strong golden lagers tend to be dangerously undrinkable and I found this one to be no exception. A golden pour with copper hues and a snow white head. The aroma is grainy malt, and alcohol. The flavour is also grainy malt and alcohol. |

78 | Banks Beer | Barbados | Pale Lager | 2.4
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 I look at the scores and I didn't think this beer was as bad as others. It certainly outranks Corona in my books. A typical pale lager with a pale golden colour, white foamy cap, aroma of grass and weak hops, and the flavour is very grainy. I did not notice any adjuncts here, just a watered down lager. |

79 | Barbar Belgian Honey Ale / Barbar Blonde | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Not sure if this contains actual honey or not. It pours a deep gold colour with a thin white cap. The aroma is quite grainly with notes of spices, especially coriander and pepper. There is no noticeable alcohol in the nose or palate despite the 8% ABV. Flavour is noticeable spice with grain notes and a touch of malty sweetness. |

80 | Barbar Winter Bok | Belgium | Bock | 4.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 One can never go wrong with a dark beer.,…right? This beer pours with a dark brown pour with a light brown cap that sticks around. There is some roasted malt in the nose with hints of caramel, yeast, and spices. The flavour is as complex as the aroma with notes of coffee, caramel, yeast, and honey. I could drink a lot of this if it wasn’t 8.5% |

81 | Barnstormer Brewing 400 Blonde | Canada | Blonde Ale | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 They say blondes have more fun. I regret to inform people that is not the case in the beer world. Blondes are boring and this one is no exception. The beer pours a light gold colour, translucent, with heavy effervescence. The aroma is biscuit alt and floral hops, and the flavour is pretty much the same. If you don’t try it…you aren’t missing anything |

82 | Barnstormer Brewing Billy Bishop Brown | Canada | Brown Ale | 2.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 A beer named after a WWI flying ace is a great idea, but a better beer would have been nice. This is a mild brown ale that pours a translucent orange-brown colour. Aroma is nutty malt, caramel, and some weak citrusy hops…they tried, God knows they tried. Flavour is just as weak with the caramel and nut malts coming through more than the hops, but the weak body leaves this as a watered down mess. |

83 | Barnstormer Brewing Flight Delay IPA | Canada | IPA | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 Flight Delay is a nice IPA, especially for the Ontario consumer. It isn’t so overpowering on the hops to make you want to avoid it, and it isn’t so weak to make you wonder why they even call it an IPA. A slightly hazed golden yellow in colour with a frothy white head that sticks around. Cereal malt and citrusy grains make up the aroma although some notes of spice and yeast keep you interested. Flavour is a nice balance between the grapefruit notes of the hops and the cereal malt with the added complexity of tropical fruitiness and yeasty notes. |

84 | Bavaria Holland Beer | Netherlands | Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 4 Another typical European Pale Lager that probably oinly exists so that the brewer can have an entry into the space. Pale gold in colour, the head is snow white and generous. The aroma is metallic, grassy, and weak hops, probably Saaz. The flavour is typical of a North American adjunct lager with the metallic and acidic flavours of the malt and adjuncts coming through. |

85 | Beau's All Natural / Kissmeyer Nordic Pale Ale | Canada | Spiced Beer | 3.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Local brewer but their product can be difficult to drink because they are very loose in their interpretation of styles. Light golden colour, slight murkiness, and a weak off-white cap. Aroma is floral and herbal with yeast and sweet malt in the background. Flavour is herbal with some up front malty notes. A nice effort, and certainly something different. |

86 | Beau's All Natural Lug Tread Lagered Ale | Canada | Kölsch | 2.0
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 If you watch Big Brother Canada, you’ve seen them drink this beer like it is going out of style. Note to self…it isn’t! This is Canada’s best selling Kolsch style beer, and there is really nothing to it. A translucent blonde colour with a thin snow white head. Grainy malt and earthy hops supply the majority of the aroma and flavour. This is really a gutless beer. |

87 | Beck's | Germany | Lager | 2.0
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 I can recall that growing up during the 70s, that people considered this 'the best beer in the world'. I can recall first tasting it during the late 70s and thinking it was so much better than a Molson Export or Canadian or a Labatt Blue or 50. Today, I would take any one of those beers over a Beck's. Everything is typical of a North AMerican pale lager from the pale gold colour, to the phenol aromas, to the corny taste. Nothing to make it premium any more. |

88 | Beer Academy Black Lager | Canada | Schwarzbier | 3.9
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 I was quite impressed with the black lager. While some badly made schwarzbiers lack the roasted feel of a good German schwarzbier, this has it all. Beautiful black pour, decent brown head. Roasted malt and coffee make up most of the aroma, possibly some cherry. Roasted malt dominates the flavour with hints of coffee and chocolate. Hopefully some of these brands make it out of downtown Toronto. |

89 | Beer Academy Dortmunder | Canada | Helles / Dortmunder | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 If there is anything that MolsonCoors knows how to do, it's make a golden coloured lager like this one. The Beer Academy Dortmunder is what happens when you use quality ingredients instead of corn syrup and hop extract. Just an all round great attempt at a Western German lager |

90 | Beer Academy Kölsch Blonde Ale | Canada | Kölsch | 3.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 I went all the way to Toronto to try several of the new Beer Academy beers, the kolsch was one of them. Like most koslches, this is a refreshing lagered ale. Plenty of grains and yeast in the aroma and some sweet fruit hints. Flavour is similar, and has a dry wine like finish. An interesting take on the style. |

91 | Beer Academy Porter | Canada | Porter | 4.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This is my favourite beer from the Beer Academy line. If I didn't know iut was a porter, I would have thought it was an excellent example of a plain stout. Pours a rich dark brown with black edges. Lots of roast and vanilla in the nose, along wioth a little fruit and some vanilla. Not overly bitter on the tongue, always a plus iwth a porter or stout. |

92 | Beer Academy Wee Heavy | Canada | Scottish Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 I've been sitting on this one a few months now and thought I would finally crack 'er open and give her a try. A brown pour with black edges, thin brown head. Nothing remakable. You could tell from the odour that this was going to be a sweet beer. Dark fruit, molasses and butterscotch. A tad sweet on the tongue as well, butterscotch, molasses, and fruit. Not very well balanced but drinkable nonetheless. |

93 | Belgh Brasse Mons Abbey Dubbel | Canada | Abbey Dubbel | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 The beer is a dark brown pour with ruby hints at the edges. The head is light brown in colour, creamy, and sticks around. Figs and raisins are the dominant aromas with yeast, spices, and roasted malt also present. Maybe a little bit of caramel as well. Like a lot of Dubbels, the beer starts off sweet with notes of nuts and fruit, but finishes bitter as the hops kick in. A good dubbel |

94 | Belhaven Best | United Kingdom | Bitter | 3.0
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 One needs to be in the mood for a British beer at times, and when I first had this, I was really in the mood, but future visits have proben disappointing. Clear copper in colour with a thinnish off-white head. Aroma is caramel, grains, and floral hops. Flavour is dominated by the caramel notes with some off-tastes present if you look for them. |

95 | Belhaven Scottish Stout | United Kingdom | Stout | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 A vdecent stout from one of Scotland's better brewers. A pepsi coloured stout with light edges. Lots of coffee and chocolate in the aroma with hints of butterscotch and molasses. Flavour is roasted malt with plenty of background chocolate and coffee. |

96 | Belhaven Wee Heavy | United Kingdom | Scottish Ale | 3.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8 I have always found Scotch Ales to be hit and miss, and I dare say that this one was a hit. A very dark mahogany colour with a light brown cap. Aroma is caramel, molasses, and nuts. The flavour is rich, sweet, and satisfying with notes of molasses, coffee, and plums. |

97 | Bell City Eureka Cream Ale | Canada | Cream Ale | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 A canned beer and the can feels funny, not sure what they finish it with but the can has an enamel feel. The beer pours a clear copper colour with a generous thick foamy white head. Toffee, sour grains, and light fruit make up the aromatic qualities of this beer. Flavour is metallic caramel with grains |

98 | Bell City Lenoir Belgian Ale | Canada | Belgian Ale | 2.5
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 If this is Tuesday, it must be Belgium. Sadly though, it's Monday and this beer is as Belgian as Kanye West. A murky golden rust colour with a weak light tan coloured head. The aroma is very grainy with citrus, yeast, and furniture polish in the mnix. It tastes like a weak alcoholic fruit drink. No yeast, no grains in the flavour. |

99 | Bell's Hopslam | United States | Imperial IPA | 4.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 I think this could be my favourite beer if it was available in Canada (or anywhere outside of Michigan). A nicely balanced Imperial IPA that has enough malt backbone to keep me happy, while still having all the hop-forwardness I want from an Imperial IPA. Excellent beer. |
