476 | Scotch Irish Sgt. Majors IPA | Canada | IPA | 4.1
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Fifteen years ago this was a highly sought after IPA in Ontario. Every time it was at the LCBO, it would sell out in short order. It pours a clear rust colour into the glass with good effervescence and a creamy light brown cap. Aroma was very piney and citrusy with some caramel malt and yeast thrown in to make it more beer-like. The flavour had a grapefruit zing on top of caramel feel, yet definitely balanced. |

477 | Scotch Irish Tsarina Katarina Imperial Stout | Canada | Imperial Stout | 4.8
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 The beer pours a viscous dark black into the tulip, capped by a full inch of a creamy dark brown head. Notes of roasted malt, molasses, coffee, plums, and licorice fill the air while the same notes tickle the taste buds a few moments later. Just a great beer. |

478 | Sleeping Giant Brewing 360° Ale | Canada | American Pale Ale | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 The beer appears in the glass as a light amber coloured ale with a thin cream coloured cap. Aroma is malty with cereal and biscuit goodness, some peppery notes, and grassy hop notes. The flavour is nicely balanced between the malty grains and the weak hops. Better than I expected from an unheralded brewery. |

479 | Sleeping Giant Brewing Skullrock Stout | Canada | Oatmeal Stout | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 This beer defines the definition of average. It’s a good looking coca-cola colour with a thin tight creamy tan head. There isa a lot of roasted malt and oats in the aroma with hints of chocolate, enough to make you want more. The flavours aren’t as bold as I would like with the roasted malt hiding the oats and chocolate notes |

480 | South River Blacksmith Smoked Porter / Highlander Blacksmith Smoked Porter | Canada | Porter | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 I hate it when a company advertises their beer as something and then doesn’t deliver. Fortunately for Highlander, they delivered all the elements they described in this beer, and they did it well, surprisingly considering the brewer. The beer pours a solid black with brown edges where it meets the glass. The cap is brown, and creamy, and lasts a few minutes. The aroma definitely has a smokiness to it, as well as plums, molasses, vanilla, and roasted malt. The smokiness also has a presence in the flavour, but gives way to sweet malt notes such as caramel and molasses. |

481 | South River Scottish Ale (Highlander Scottish Ale) | Canada | Scottish Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 The beer pours a clear ruby colour with a weak thin tan coloured ring for a head. The aroma is weak caramel, stale grains, and floral hops. The flavour is metallically sweet with a weak bitter finish. For years this was marketed as Highlander Pale Ale, however this is neither a pale ale, nor a Scottish ale. It’s not very good to be honest. |

482 | Southern Tier Imperial Mokah | United States | Imperial Stout | 3.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Part of the 2012 LCBO Fall Release. ABV on bottle is 11.2%. A nice black pour with a small tan cap. Lots of coffee and chocolate in the aroma. Alcohol is present in the taste along with a hint of coffee and chocolate. The label says this is a mix of the Java and Choklat. Having never tried either of those, this doesn't make me want to try them at all. |

484 | St. Bernardus Abt 12 | Belgium | Abbey Quadrupel | 5.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 I've had the opportunity to try both this beer and the exalted emporer of them all the Westvleteren 12.............and while it's close...I prefer this as the real King of Beers. A dark brown beer with a yeasty smell and a tan coloured head that lasts longer than the Vietnam war. The mouthfeel is creamy, full, and the perfect hint of CO2. The flavour is heaven. The monks really know how to do it! |

485 | St. Bernardus Abt 12 Special Edition (60th Anniversary) | Belgium | Abbey Quadrupel | 5.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 I was fortunate enough to have a Belgian friend send me a bottle of this, and after trrying it, he instantly became my best friend (I haven'ttold her yet). This is every bit as good as the non-special edition of this brew. Again, I highly recommend if you can still get a bottle...go for it. |

487 | St. Bernardus Tripel | Belgium | Abbey Tripel | 4.9
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 Another true great beer produced from within the brewery walls of St. Bernard. It's a known fact that St. Bernards carry this brew in their casks and not brandy (or at least that is what I want to believe). The beer pours a murky golden brown with the same generous head of the Abt 12. The flavour is more malty than the Abt 12, and a tad less creamy |

488 | St. Louis Gueuze Fond Tradition | Belgium | Gueuze | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Purchased at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario Store. A cloudy golden coloured beer with nary a head. The aroma is tart fruit, funk, yeast, and grains. The flavour is more of the same with very tart fruity notes of front and a yeasty finish. |

489 | St. Louis Gueuze Lambic | Belgium | Gueuze | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Purchased at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario Store. Pours a pale gold colour with definte haze and a snow white bubbly head that is gone within seconds. The aroma is tart fruit, yeast, grains, and sour funk. The flavour is very tart fruit with hints of grains and yeast in the mix. |

492 | Thornbridge Kipling South Pacific Pale Ale | United Kingdom | American Pale Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. A slightly cloudy golden pour is topped with a rather large white head. Tropical fruit rules the roost from an aroma perspective with some malt and spices also present. The tropical fruit and citrus dominate the flavour with not much of the malt seen here. Quite refreshing, but nothing outstanding. |

493 | Toppling Goliath pseudoSue Pale Ale | United States | American Pale Ale | 4.0
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 My name is Sue……how do you do? Oh wait, this isn’t Sue, this is Fake Sue! Fortunately, this beer is anything but fake. The beer is nothing special to look at, being a cloudy golden pour topped by a foamy white cap. It’s in the aroma and the flavour that this beer separates from the pack with a huge citrus and pine punch and just enough grain to keep it balanced. |

494 | Tree Captivator Dopplebock | Canada | Doppelbock | 3.7
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 A local find at the liquor store. I've tried it before but not rated it. A rusty brown pour with a thick off-white cap. Cap sticks around until the end. Lots of dark fruits (plums, raisins) in the aroma as well as notes of yeast, caramel, and burnt molasses. Flavour is on the sweet side for me with the caramel/fruit notes very strong. Not bad for a Canadian brewed doppelbock. |

495 | Unibroue 10 | Canada | Abbey Tripel | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This was the first of the anniversary ales if I'm correct and has long since been retired. The beer started off wee as it poured a nice hazy golden brown. The aroma was very complex, sweet malt, some grains, spices, and some fruit. The flavour was also very complex, but less so than the aroma. The flavour had a hoppish bite as well. |

496 | Unibroue 11 | Canada | Belgian Strong Ale | 5.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 This is a retired beer that it took me sometime to obtain. The beer pours a murky golden yellow with a fluffy white head. The aroma is breadlike yeast, with some malt, and fruit spices.........and a hint of alcohol. The flavour is a cornucopia of goodness. Sweet malts, bread, and some sweet spices make up a great mouthful. |

497 | Unibroue 15 | Canada | Abbey Tripel | 5.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 I believe this beer has been retired. The beer poured a murky orange-gold colour with a thick white head that stuck around. The aroma was a complex combination of yeast, Malt, hops, and some fruity spices like nutmeg and cloves. The flavour is slightly sweet (malts??) with a little hoppy bitterness offset by the clovelike spiciness. |

498 | Unibroue 16 | Canada | Abbey Tripel | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 This beer isn't as good as some of the earlier anniversary issues from the wonderful people at Unibroue. As with some of the others, the beer is a cloudy beer, golden-orange in colour, with a generous head. The aroma was full of malt, yeast, and fruity spices. The flavour mimics the aroma, with a slight acidic bitterness. |

500 | Unibroue Chambly Noire | Canada | Belgian Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 A very black beer as the 'noire' would suggest. It's beautiful to look at. The aroma was a complex of roasted malts, yeast, some dark fruits (figs, plums) with a little hoppy tone. The flavour is similar in that there is huge malt taste up front and a yeasty taste in the end. A good beer. |
