I’ve had so many Double IPA’s this week its criminal, but it rules. Im having the beer that almost invented the style. A citrus and piney aroma. It has a strong lemon presence. It has a good malty backbone and very bitter hop flavor. The aftertaste is somewhat sour. Very nice indeed!

This simply kicked ass. One of the better Double IPA’s I had in San Diego. A very strong citrus and alcohol nose. Extremely bitter and lemoney with a huge dose of pine. This one was very complex and a treat for the hopheads. Oh yeah!

A dark red apperance. The smell is very cherry, sorry didnt mean to rhyme. The flavor is sweet up front but turns quite sour after a few sips. A sour cherry flavor dominates with some tart apples detected in the background. Not as sour as many of the fruit lambics, and not as sweet as many fruit beers. The balance seems to be perfect. Extremely good!

The aroma is sour apples and vinegar. The appearance is orange with a small head. The flavor is an assortment of cheese, tart apples, vinegar, and lemons. The aftertaste is fantastic with a nice dusty sour finish. This one is quite sour and funky and something you have to sip on slowly. Very good.

Mmmmm mmmmm tasty stuff. Pitch black with a tan head. It looks really nice. The aroma is coffee, dark chocolate, and a bit of smoke. The flavor is quite nice with some burnt roasted malts and a hint of sweetness. I get some chocolate, coffee, raisins, and some other dark fruits. Its a bit carbonated but still a damn fine one.

This poured a brownish red color. The flavor contains some toffee, nutmeg, and cherries. The flavor is quite sour with some cherries and vinegar notes showing up. This is somewhat offset by the presence of caramel and maltiness in there. Aftertaste is mostly sour. Overall a great beer!

This poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma contains some coffee, espresso, smoke, and licorice. The flavor is rather rich and bitter with a hint of oatmeal presence. A lot of chocolate going on here. Overall this is a great impy stout!

Orange color with a white head. Aroma contains orange, grapefruit, and lemons. Perfume as well. The flavor is bitter and malty. You get caramel as well as the citrus. Overall a nice well balanced iipa.

Appearance is black with a tan head. Aroma is filled with chocolate, coffee, oatmeal, and espresso. Flavor is awesome with some espresso, dark chocolate, and cream. The finish is slightly sweet. Overall dear god man good!

Got this one my PA trip. It poured pitch black with a small tan head. The aroma was alcohol, molasses, raisins, and chocolate. The alcohol is actually more tame than I imagined however its presence is know. The flavor is sweet and warming with some chocolate, raisins, molasses, toffee, and coffee. Wow this is fantastic stuff!

A reddish orange appearance with a minimal head. A whiskey and cherry aroma. This one is a little bit on the sweet side with some oak notes. The flavor is cherries, burbon, strawberries, with a nutty presence. The aftertaste is somewhat bitter and warming. An excellent beer.

Thanks to MrFacto for bringing this one down. A big maple syrup and whiskey aroma. It poured a dark brown color with almost no head. The flavor is maple syrup, whiskey, chocolate, raisins, caramel, etc etc. Very thick and complex. A very warming beer. Awesome!

This one pours pitch black with a solid tan head and nice lacing. The aroma can only beer compared with sniffing a carton of chocolate milk. This defines smooth. A velvety chocolate and mocha flavor. It goes from sweet to dry in the finish. This is awesome! Bells makes the best stouts hands down!

This one was damn good. An amber color with a light head. The aroma and flavor is awesome. A lot of orange and lemons showing up. The malt flavor and bitterness are well balanced. This reminded me of Alpha King quite a bit.

A dark reddish appearance. The aroma is complex with some molasses, orange, oak, and cherries. The flavor is primarly cherries with some raisins, grapes, oranges, and alcohol showing through. This one is more in the English mold. Excellent beer.

This poured a dark brown color. The aroma is nutty with some caramel and chocolate as well. Some alcohol can be detected with chocolate and nutmeg flavors. A very enjoyable and warming beer.

2001 vintage sampled at Noog Fest III. A murky orange appearance. A citrus, vanilla bean, caramel, and alcohol aroma. This one was quite rich with some oaky flavors present. The flavor consisted of some dark fruit, cherries, and oranges. The finish was rather syrupy with a nice warming effect. This one was a very nice barleywine!

This one poured an orangish amber color. The aroma is full of pine, oranges, and lemons. The flavor is very bitter with some orange peels, lemons, and grapefruit. Some alcohol shows up in the finish. This one is definitley one for the hopheads! Good stuff!

A copper color with a moderate head. The aroma is very pronounced citrus and alcohol. I can smell it 6 inches away from the glass. The flavor is strawberry, grapefruit, orange peel. Very IIPAish to me. Its very hoppy yet malty it acheives excellent balance. I love it!

On tap at the brewery. A dark amber color with a moderate head. A good syrupy texture with some orange, oak, cherry, molasses in the flavor. A slightly bitter aftertaste. A warming effect from the alcohol. A nice barleywine.

Orange color with no head. The aroma is honey and alcohol. The flavor is quite sweet with a warming effect. Honey is the main thing going on with some apples, raspberries, and pears. A very syrupy texture and a slightly spicy palate. Good stuff, thanks E!

This is some good stuff heya! A dark amber color with a large head. A very hoppy and complex flavor. A perfume, caramel, and orange aroma. The flavor is caramel, orange, and pine. Bite you in the ass hopped up flavor. And screw the guy with the 1 billion dollar lawsuit over the label! Extremely good!

A pitch black pour with a tan head. A milk chocolate, charcoal, and coffee aroma. The flavor is very smooth with almost no alcohol flavor present. Some milk chocolate, malted milk balls (Im tasting that alot lately?) and raisins. I agree with the RICH statement in the commercial description. A sweet aftertaste. This would rock with some dessert!

Brownish/red color and hopped nicely. Good head and lacing. Excellent aroma of hops and spiced fruit and a heavy whiskey presence. Alot of malt flava. A slightly thicker syrupy texture. I loved it.

A reddish pink color with a solid pink head. The aroma is raspberries and more raspberries. Same with the flavor. The taste is amazing, sweet upfront, sour back stage. I could drink this stuff all day.
