7001 | Lost Abbey Box Set: Track #2 (Stairway to Heaven) | United States | Wild Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 Sample from bottle, thanks to my beerpal Olav, who brought it from San Diego. ABV is 12.5%. Pitch black colour, low tan head. Intense and lovely aroma - sweetish, vinous, oaky and roasty. Sweet and sour flavour, roasty and lemony notes, lighter body than expected. |

7005 | Tigertops Blanche de Newland | United Kingdom | Witbier | 3.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 Cask conditioned at the 32nd Cambridge Beer Festival, gravity dispense. Orange colour, hazy, low head. Lovely aroma of orange peel, coriander and witbier yeast (in other words: like it should be). Moderately sweet witbier flavour, orange peel and coriander dominates. Moderate dusty hops finish. Not a bad try on an un-English style! |

7006 | Blanche de Namur | Belgium | Witbier | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Draught in Aarhus, Denmark. Pale golden milky colour, low head. Typical witbier aroma and flavour of orange peel and coriander, but there’s also a sufficient base of wheat malts and hops to support it. Well balanced, smooth and very pleasant and refreshing to drink. Not a beer that pops up and says BOOH! - but a very nice one all the same. |

7007 | Chernigivske Bile Nefiltrovane | Ukraine | Witbier | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml can, bought in Denmark. Cloudy golden colour, fizzy. Frothing initially large head that subsides quickly. Decent wheat aroma with citrus and coriander. Flavour has not much going for it, not offensive but not great either. Some citrus and coriander, but not much. Fairly bland. Mouthfeel remains fizzy throughout. Not much aftertaste either. An OKish thirstquencher, but not a beer to search out. |

7008 | Jacobsen Bramley Wit | Denmark | Witbier | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 750 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. Very pale colour, slightly hazy, large white head. Moderate but nice aroma of apples, citrus, coves and coriander. Very light bodied, thin mouthfeel. Flavour is dominated by a distinct acidity, probably provided by the sour Bramley apples, but there’s not much apple flavour beyond the acidity. Traditional witbier elements (coriander, orange peel) are very subdued. Minimal hops. Refreshing, but no masterpiece. Does not live up to its price. |

7009 | Celis White | Belgium | Witbier | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 Belgian brewed Celis White, allegedly also known under its alias "Ertvelds Wit". Draught at Den Tatoverede Enke, Copenhagen. Typical wit appearance. LOVELY aroma of burnt caramel / treacle and spices. Flavour is not nearly that exciting, this is a fairly watery and bland wit. |

7011 | Gulpener Korenwolf | Netherlands | Witbier | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Rerate, 500 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5%. Cloudy / milky yellow colour, large to moderate white head. Strong sweetish and spicy aroma, notes of elderflowers, bananas, bubble gum, citrus, coriander and cloves. The flavour is wheaty and refreshing, notes of banana, cloves and herbs. Very moderate hops. Original rating: I got this served in the Amsterdam Arena restaurant in Holland (from bottle) with a slice of lemon in the glass, but suspect it would have a slightly citrussy aroma and flavour even without the slice. Very refreshing, but not enough to be ecstatic about. A bonus point for the cute hamster on the bottle! |

7013 | Nøgne Ø Wit | Norway | Witbier | 4.3
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9 (Bottle conditioned, 500 ml). Thick sediment in bottle. I turned the bottle upside down a couple of times, like the brewers recommend, to get maximum pleasure out of the yeast. The result was that my pants now have the unmistakenly typical witbier aroma of coriander, cloves, over-ripe bananas and orange peel. The rest of the beer hit my glass, and there the aroma was even better! After the ENORMOUS foamy head had subsided a little, I found out there was actually beer underneath - colour: Cloudy golden, nearly brownish. Flavour: Again typical wit - coriander, cloves and orange peel. Very refreshing. Moderate aftertaste. How wonderful that the "lager desert" of Norway now has an uncompromising micro brewery that DARE make good beer! |

7014 | Nøgne Ø God Paske | Norway | Witbier | 4.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Rerate 13. April: I deliberately avoided pouring the yeast in this time, beer is clear deep golden, like a bitter or an IPA. Flavour is more balanced, still a substantial bitterness but not unpleasant. Very little wheat character, in a blind test I'd say this was a decent IPA or possibly an ESB. Original rating: 500 ml, bottle conditioned. Batch #128. The brewers say this beer should be consumed on Easter Day and not during Lent. I’d better re-rate shortly after Easter - maybe they mean that the beer is too fresh now? Anyway, I HAD too try it now, once it was for sale. The beer has a hazy golden, nearly orange colour. Initially large head, doesn’t last to the end. Lovely hoppy aroma with hints of citrus, honey and leather. Flavour is very bitter from start to finish (loads of hops and coriander, peppery mouthfeel) , while the beer otherwise is light bodied like a wheat beer should be. This means that the hops and spices are overdone here, and the subtleties of a wheat beer do not survive. Those who love American IPAs might like it, but to me this is my least favourite Nøgne Ø beer so far. |

7015 | Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc | France | Witbier | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 300 ml white painted bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. Colour is typical wit: Hazy, very pale straw coloured. Moderate head. Strong aroma of coriander, yeast and some citrus, and if I’m unkind: even some notes of perfumed shampoo and hints of vomit. Flavour is VERY citrussy / LEMONY, notes of coriander too. A bit too lemony for me, but definitely a refreshing beer for hot summer days. Just a faint bitterness in the aftertaste. The chicks might like it! |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Draught in Nice, France, as "Bière Blanche de Floreffe". Served with a quarter slice of lemon, which I instantly pulled out of the glass. Hazy pale colour. Pleasant lemony aroma, some spice too. Moderate citrussy flavour, faint notes of coriander. Drinkable and refreshing, but not a "big" beer |

7020 | Marks & Spencer Bière Blanche | Belgium | Witbier | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, bought in a store at Cambridge train station, and drunk from the bottle (hidden in the paper bag, of course) just outside the station (I was not arrested). I still had time to notice that the beer was cloudy and pale, like a witbier should be. Aroma and flavour of a decent standard witbier, no worse than Hoegaarden. |

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml bottle, as Lilland Gufne Gunhild Wiit Beer, purchased at Lilland's off-licence. Deep golden to pale brown colour, hazy brown when the yeast is poured in the end. Huge white (or slightly off-white) head, overcarbonated. Perfumed aroma of yeast, chamomile, orange peel and coriander. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour has too strong notes of chamomile and yeast, with orange peel and coriander in the background. |

7024 | Cigar City Florida Cracker Belgian Wit | United States | Witbier | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 May 2013: 355 ml can at Lompa Friluft, Oslo. ABV is 5.0%. Hazy pale golden colour, moderate white head. Strong aroma and flavour of Belgian saison yeast, curacao orange peel and coriander. Fizzy mouthfeel. A good witbier, but no better than the Belgian originals, so it seems rather superfluous to import it to Europe. |
