7003 | Hijos de Rivera 1906 Reserva Especial | Spain | Vienna / Amber Lager | 2.5
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 February 2014: 330 ml slimline can, as 1906 Año Reserva Especial, produced in Spain for Hijos de Rivera. www.club1906.es . ABV is 6.5%. Ingredients include maize. Golden (nearly deep golden) colour, moderate white head. Fairly decent aroma of grassy hops. The flavour is "dusty", bland and boring, but not offensive. |

7006 | Against The Grain Mac Fannybaw | United States | Rauchbier | 2.5
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar; Stavanger. Orange to brown colour, small white head. Aroma of peat and beechwood smoked malts, also smoked salt (when you know it’s there). Medium dry flavour, distinct notes of said smoked ingredients. Hints of bourbon barrel in the finish. Not really my cup of tea, but drinkable. |

7007 | The White Hag Red Doe 4.2% | Ireland | Irish Ale | 2.5
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Keg halfpint at Graingers, Dublin. Slightly hazy amber colour, white (or slightly off-white) head. Moderate fruity aroma, notes of berries. The flavour is sweeter than expected, some malts (including some mild roasty ones), hops and woody notes, but not perfectly balanced. |

7010 | Hansa Lite Litchi IPA | Norway | IPA | 2.5
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml can, from Rema 1000 Tau. ABV is 4.2%. Clear deep golden colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of lychee / litchi and fruit candy. Citric mouthfeel, light bodied. The flavour has hints of fruit candy, but is fortunately not too sweet. Low bitterness. An acceptable summer refreshment, but not something I'll buy again. And this is certainly not an IPA by any stretch of the mind! |

7011 | Ørbæk Jule Ale Santa C | Denmark | Blonde Ale | 2.5
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 (330 ml bottle). Copper coloured, a slight haziness, moderate but relatively thick beige head. Malty sweet aroma, caramel. Flavour is again malty sweet with some caramel - definitely too sweet. One-dimensional. Thin mouthfeel despite the sweetness. The brewers claim they have used "organic grown hops" - maybe those hops were organic to a degree that they were left to rot on their stems, ’cause there sure is no trace that any of them have been used in this beer! Very disappointing. |

7013 | Ringnes Pilsener | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.5
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Like all Norwegian pilseners aggressively carbonated. Not the best Norwegian brand. It's brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot and is drinkable, but really not much more. There's a bread-dough character that I don't like much. Lacks the crisp hoppiness that a good pilsener should have. Slightly better on tap than bottled IMO. |

7014 | Michelob | United States | Pale Lager | 2.5
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 A typically commercial American beer, quite refreshing and better than it's reputation. This was the favourite beer of my (now late) uncle in California, I drank large quantities of it in the summer heat when I visited him there many years ago, and has a soft spot for it due to that. When I much later found the beer in Norway, the magic was gone. Drinkable and better than other BMC swill, but of course no masterpiece. |

7017 | Augustijn Abbey Ale | Belgium | Abbey Dubbel | 2.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 Sampled 330 ml bottle, under its Spanish import alias "666 La Bière de la Diablesse". Cloudy golden colour, large head. Aroma and flavour VERY alcoholic and slightly yeasty. Not good. Travelling from Spain to Norway in the hot trunk of a car probably didn't help. |

7019 | Thor Pilsner | Denmark | Lager | 2.5
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 An average Danish Pilsener. The Thor brewery in Randers is now closed, but the beers are still brewed at other Bryggerigruppen breweries. Bryggerigruppen are desperately trying to keep up the market shares in the Randers region, where Thor beers for decades were a part of the local identity. |

7020 | Thisted Mørk Dana Hvidtøl | Denmark | Reduced Alcohol | 2.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 Danish "hvidtøl" really are a style of their own - very dark brown, malty and sweet wheat beers with very little alcohol. This is one of them. Sweetish flavour. Maybe the kids will like it? I don't. (Actually, Danish kids are often allowed to have these beers with their rice pudding on Christmas eve, which leads them to keep a soft spot for "hvidtøl" for the rest of their lives). |

7022 | 33 Export | France | Pale Lager | 2.5
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 I had this beer French brewed (it IS also a French brew originally, not Vietnamese, even if it's also brewed under licence in Vietnam and most Americans know it in that version). Also brewed at Heineken's brewery in Morocco. It worked well in the summer heat of the French Riviera, but it's really a very average lager, at the best. |

7023 | Tuborg Grøn | Denmark | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.5
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 "Grøn Tuborg" is the standard Tuborg pale lager, as it's known in Denmark. I've had it many, many times - but fortunately I search out better beers now! Grøn (= Green - refers to the colour of the label, not the beer!) Tuborg has market shares in Denmark that do not coincide with the actual quality of the beer. Simply a standard pale golden lager, not offensive but nothing to write home about. |

7025 | Hoegaarden Rosée | Belgium | Fruit Beer | 2.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 250 ml can, thanks to tarjei. ABV is 4.5%. Cloudy pink colour, big to moderate head with a pinkish hue. Strong sweetish aroma of ripe raspberries / raspberry jam. The flavour is sugary sweet with loads of ripe raspberries. Oh dear. Well, at least it is not as horrible as Hoegaarden Citron. I was able to finish this one. |
