6927 | Hansa Sterkøl | Norway | Strong Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml can, sold at Vinmonopolet. Peculiar yeasty (even though this is a filtered and pasteurised lager) sweet and fruity aroma. Flavour is nothing to shout hurrah! for (bland and alcoholic), very little aftertaste. You'll be so more happy drinking any Norwegian Christmas beer ('Juleøl') - just be sure to get the strong ("klasse F", Vinmonopolet) version. Beers like this one just aren't flavourful enough for winter, and not refreshing enough for summer! |

6928 | Trio Pilsner | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 (500 ml can). Pale golden colour, moderate head. Run of the mill pils, "neutral" flavour, thin mouthfeel. Nothing to write home about. Trio Bryggeri is a former soft drink factory that started brewing a few years after the old brewery in Skien, Lundetangen Bryggeri, was closed. |

6930 | Kragerø Pilsner | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml can. Contract brewed by Trio Bryggeri for Libo Trading (trade mark owner). I wouldn’t bet that this isn’t a re-label of Trio’s ordinary pilsner, but I can’t do a side-by-side comparison, so I can’t really tell. Like Trio Pilsner: Pale golden colour, moderate head. Run of the mill pils, "neutral" flavour, thin mouthfeel. Nothing to write home about. |

6931 | Mack Vårøl | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 (500 ml can). Typical pils pale golden colour, large head diminishing rapidly. Moderate herbal pils aroma, flavour is slightly drier than the ordinary Mack pilsener. Not offensive, but not much to remember either. With all the beer varieties Mack brew, you'd think they could come up with something more exciting than umpteen varieties of uninteresting lagers. |

6933 | Fink Bräu | Germany | Pale Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml can, at LIDL in Norway, as Fink Bräu Pilsner. ABV here is 4.7%, to comply with our 4.75% upper limit for beers sold in grocery stores. Not to be confused with the low ABV (2.1% and 2.8%) Fink Bräu "Pils" versions made for LIDL by Karlsberg Brauerei. Made of water, malts and hop extract. Clear very pale straw coloured, large head. Moderate aromatic hops. Flavour has some herbal spiciness, not much malts, thin mouthfeel, but a fairly liberal use of hop extract leads to a bitter finish. As far as discount pilseners / pale lagers go: I’ve had worse. |

6934 | Cruzcampo Cerveza Pilsen | Spain | Pale Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml can, bought in Tenerife. Pale golden colour, decent head. Sweetish fruity and grassy aroma, notes of maize (corn) too. Flavour is watery and "neutral" with some tolerable hops in the finish. Acceptable as a thirstquencher, but not much more. |

6936 | Chang Lager | Thailand | Strong Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 This beer seems to need a split in the BeerPal database - my 330 ml bottle (in France), simply named "Chang Beer", was a typical standard pale lager at 5.0% ABV, and can’t possibly be "the same beer" as a 6.4% "strong lager"??!! Anyhow, my beer pours with a golden colour and a large head. "Neutral" lager flavour, not offensive, moderate sweetness. Okay with a spicy Thai meal. |

6939 | Nokian Punikki | Finland | Pale Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Sampled RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. Pinkish orange colour, low head. Artificial red colour (E120) has been added to the beer as a gimmick, hence the "red" (USSR / Lenin) style of the label. Grassy aroma with hints of wild cranberries. Boring pale lager flavour with some hops in the finish. |

6941 | Ringnes Bryggerimester Spesial til julens fiskeretter | Norway | Spiced Beer | 2.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml green bottle. Amber coloured, large off-white head. Weak aroma with hints of berries (incl. juniper berries?) and boiled vegetables. Flavour has very moderate malts and hops (and possibly bog myrtle), notes of caramel but not very sweet. Thin and faintly sourish mouthfeel. A very boring beer, but not offensive. |

6942 | Holsten Premium | Germany | Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml can, as Holsten Premium Lager. ABV is 5.0%. Golden colour, moderate head. Standard pale lager aroma, grassy notes. Flavour has first some sweetness, then a certain bitterness takes over, metallic notes. Not a great beer by any means, but as international pale lagers go: I’ve had worse. |

6943 | Duration / Fonta Flora Difficult Takes A Day, Impossible Takes A Week | United Kingdom | Saison | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 375 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.2%. Clear signal red colour, moderate to small off-white to pink head. Aroma of sour cherries, solvent, almonds and detergent. Thin mouthfeel. Dry flavour with notes of sour cherries, cherry kernels, solvent and bittering hops. Not a beer for me. Apparently the impossible takes more than week. |

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml bottle, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. ABV is 4.8%. Slightly hazy brownish-golden colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast and citrus, a hint of cloves. The flavour is also wheaty, yeasty and citric, again with a hint of cloves. Drinkable, but not great. |

6946 | Åbro Femkommatvåan | Sweden | Pale Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 July 2013: 500 ml can, a treat from a neighbour. Golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma with some grassy and herbal hops. The flavour is a bit too sweet for a pilsener, but there are still enough hops around to make the beer drinkable. |

6947 | Herrnbräu Tradition | Germany | Marzen / Oktoberfest | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Norheimsund. ABV is 5.6%. Clear golden colour, moderate to small white head. Sweetish aroma of pilsener malts and floral hops, a faint hint of smoked sausage. The flavour has the same elements, low bitterness. |

6948 | Cervisiam Metsu Shoryuken | Norway | Berliner Weisse | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 330 ml can, probably from Vinmonopolet Norheimsund. ABV is 5.4%. Deep red to purple colour, hazy, large to moderate pink head. Aroma of over-ripe berries ("fruits of the forest"), lactic acid and lactose. Very sweet flavour, lactose galore (overkill), also lactic acid and loads of said berries. Won't buy again. |

6949 | Gardsbrenneriet Gardseple Handverksider | Norway | Cider | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 750 ml clear bottle, from Helgø MENY Hundvåg. ABV is 4.5%. Clear golden colour, pours vigorously sparkling with a large to moderate white head. Aroma of apples and artificial candy. Sweet flavour of eating apples and ascorbic acid, hints of candy. Not a cider I'll buy again. |

6950 | Lucifer (Vintages 2009 and After) | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 Aug. 2010: 330 ml bottle, bought at Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 8%, brewed by Het Anker. Very pale yellow colour, hazy in the end, huge white head. The aroma has notes of "Green Apples Shampoo", Belgian ale yeast and spices. The flavour is fairly refreshing for its strength and moderately spicy, notes of green apples again, also notes of white candi sugar and artificial candy, unpleasant soapy aftertaste. Overall disappointing. |
