6876 | Mack Isbjørn LITE med smak av Blodappelsin | Norway | Pale Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 500 ml can, from Bunnpris Sand. Golden colour, moderate white head. The sweetish aroma has hints of blood orange, but more distinct notes of artificial "orange" candy. Citric and thin mouthfeel. Citric flavour, hints of blood orange, not too sweet, moderate bitterness. |

6881 | Chang Beer Light | Thailand | Light / Lite Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml bottle, simply as Chang Beer 4.2%, now in Norwegian grocery stores. Extremely pale yellow colour, nearly colourless. Moderate to low white head. Aroma of baby porridge and grass. The flavour has some sweetish pilsener malts and hints of citrus, making the beer not undrinkable - but this is certainly not something to seek out. |

6882 | De Molen Bed & Breakfast | Netherlands | Spiced Beer | 1.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 2 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 3 Shared bottle at local tasting. Deep golden to orange colour. Intense and dryish aroma of coffee beans, quite unexpected (if I hadn’t read the label) in a beer this pale. Not good at all. Dry flavour of coffee beans and ashes, some hops in the finish. Not a beer for me - the worst I’ve had from De Molen. |

6883 | Sakara 10% King | Egypt | Strong Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 Can, as Sakara 10% King, at local tasting, shared by our beerpal Olav. Golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish "industrial" aroma, but also some nicer notes of spices (cinnamon etc.). Sweetish chemical flavour, notes of alcohol, hints of spices. |

6884 | Pabst Blue Ribbon | United States | Pale Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 At last - the legendary PBR is mine! 355 ml Export version, 4.5% ABV, from Superbrugsen, Ans, Denmark. Pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Sweetish candy aroma, some grassy notes. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour? What flavour? Tastes mainly like carbonated water, just a hint of sweetness reveals that it is not. Papery and "empty" finish. Gets one point for not having any offensive "side flavours". |

6885 | Corona Light | Mexico | Light / Lite Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 355 ml clear bottle, ABV is 3.9%. The Norwegian supermarket scene has now been blessed with this masterpiece, hurra. Very pale yellow colour, moderate white head of poor retention. Fairly strong sweetish aroma, notes of maize, artificial candy and grass. Soft mouthfeel. Citric and refreshing flavour (kind of), a little hops in the finish. Thin and uninteresting as expected, but not disgusting. |

6886 | Borg Ice | Norway | Pale Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 4 (500 ml can). Another ice beer, the lager style for people who really don't like beer. Pale golden colour, moderate head. Aroma is yeasty with citrus candy notes. Hardly any flavour (at least it's not offensive) and even less aftertaste. A beer to forget the moment after you drank it. |

6887 | Burgen Pils Lettøl 2.3% | Germany | Reduced Alcohol | 1.8
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml can, at LIDL Norway. Extremely pale colour, one of the palest beers I’ve seen. Large fluffy head. Very moderate aroma, just some faint flowery notes. Extremely thin and watery mouthfeel, but some moderate hops at least give this "lettøl" SOME flavour. No offensive off-flavours detected. |

6888 | Glutaner Sorghum-Based Premium Pilsener | Belgium | Pale Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml brown bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Also available in Norwegian grocery stores. ABV here is 4.7%. Probably my first beer ever brewed without any barley malt at all. They call this is a "Premium Pilsener", so you’ll know what they’re aiming at. But it’s a poor "pilsener", and there’s only one reason (but for those affected, a very good one) to drink this beer: if you suffer from coeliac disease and need to have a completely gluten-free diet. Pale golden colour, moderate white head, leaves a nice lacing. Weak grainy and slightly fruity aroma, with some of the "boiled" notes that you find in n/a beers and industrial pale lagers. Flavour is bland and boring, but the beer is not totally undrinkable, and has some very moderate hops in the finish. |

6889 | Fosters Twist | Australia | Fruit Beer | 1.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml clear bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Brewed in the EU. ABV is 4.5%. Contains 1.1% lemon juice and 0.3% lime juice. Pale golden colour, large and lasting head. Weak aroma, just a whiff of citrus. Flavour is citrussy sweet, in an artifical way. Not really offensive, but not very good either. No bitterness nor any "real beer" character. Minimal aftertaste. Blindfolded I wouldn’t be sure that this was a beer at all. |

6890 | Munkholm Münchener | Norway | Reduced Alcohol | 1.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 500 ml can, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. This is not a "dark" n/a beer like the label says, it is a golden n/a beer, deep golden if you like. Fluffy white head. The aroma has some of the same sweetish and "boiled" notes of the other Munkholm beers (bad), but there are also some flowery aromatic hops around (good). Flavour is pretty sweet with some weak caramel notes, but there are just enough hops around to make the beer drinkable if cold. Hell, it’s a n/a beer, and you don’t expect much, but if you HAVE TO drive, or avoid alcohol of other reasons, this is the "best" Munkholm beer I’ve had so far. |

6891 | Valášek Citron | Czech Republic | Fruit Beer | 1.8
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 3 1 liter brown PET bottle, kindly shared by gunnar. ABV is 4.8%. Upon opening the beer gushes out of the bottle, and continues to do so. Apparently infected. Cloudy golden colour, huge white head. Strong lemon aroma. Very lemony flavour, acidity galore, some spicy notes. Might be said to be "good" in a perverted way, but is too sour, and being obviously infected does not help much. |

6892 | Aliada Cerveza Tipo Pilsen | Spain | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 1.8
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml can, from Super Cor, La Manga. ABV is 4.5%. Ingredients include maize and E-405 and E-224. Pale yellow colour, coarse white head that dies almost instantly. Industrial sweetish aroma, notes of maize and cooked vegetables, hints of citrus. Bland and uninteresting flavour, but not completely void of hops. Drinkable only when cold. |

6893 | The 4 Elements | Germany | Pale Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 4 330 ml clear bottle, from Super Cor, La Manga (Spain), at a price about 5x as much as an average Spanish supermarket lager - without being the least better. ABV is 5%. Pale golden colour, pearly carbonation, low white head. "Skunky" and grassy Heineken-like aroma, also sweetish hints of citrus. Very bland and neutral flavour for a German Reinheitsgebot pale lager - I assume hops should be one the 4 elements, but the brewers sure haven’t used much of them! A faint hint of citrus, slightly metallic finish (as far as there is any finish at all). One to forget. |

6894 | Duff Beer (Germany) | Germany | Pale Lager | 1.7
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml bottle, brewed by Eschweger, ABV in Norway is 4.7%. Bought at MENY Stadionparken. Crystal clear extremely pale yellow colour, big white head. Grainy aroma of unhopped pilsener wort and boiled vegetables, not good. Sweet and sugary flavour, hardly any bitterness. What a stupid idea - brewing a purposely shitty American Standard pale lager in Europe, just because Homer Simpson would have liked it ... Taste is nothing, marketing is everything. |

6895 | Heineken Buckler | Netherlands | Reduced Alcohol | 1.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 250 ml bottle, as Buckler 0,0%, brewed by Heineken Spain. Deep golden to pale brown colour, moderate white head. Typical n/a beer aroma of unhopped wort and cooked vegetables. Grainy flavour, notes of wort, maize and over-cooked vegetables. |

6896 | Coors Light | United States | Light / Lite Lager | 1.7
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml bottle, now available in Norway. Hurrah. ABV here is 4.5%. Crystal clear pale yellow colour, big to moderate white head. Weak grassy aroma, not unpleasant though. The beer is wet and cold, with minimal flavour, just a little sweetness. No aftertaste. The good thing is that there are no offensive off-flavours - just plenty of Rocky Mountain water ... |

6897 | Grans VM Øl | Norway | Pale Lager | 1.7
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 500 ml can, from REMA 1000. ABV is 4.7%. Will probably be retired tomorrow, due to "illegal alcohol advertising" on the can. That’s Nanny State Norway for you. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish and sugary aroma, some grassy notes too. Fizzy mouthfeel. Sweetish, sugary and boring flavour, very moderate bitterness. Won’t be missed. |

6898 | Okkara Ljósa | Faroe Islands | Reduced Alcohol | 1.7
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml bottle, from a grocery store in Klaksvik. ABV is 2.6%. Antioxidant E300 and E223 added. Golden colour, low coarse white head. The aroma has notes of pilsener wort and citrus. Medium dry flavour, light bodied of course, boring, but some hints of malts and hops make the beer not undrinkable if you have to drive. Sourish finish. |

6899 | Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% | Italy | Reduced Alcohol | 1.7
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml green bottle, as Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0%, from Coop Extra, Tau. Crystal clear pale golden colour, small white head. "Skunky" Heineken-like aroma, also sweetish notes of wort and baby porridge. Citric mouthfeel. The flavour has some citrus, and metallic bittering hops in the finish. |

6900 | Ægir Dag Mango | Norway | Fruit Beer | 1.7
Aroma: 2 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 Aug. 2020: 330 ml can, from Det Gode Brygg, Kvadrat, Sandnes. ABV is 4.0%. Clear amber colour, moderate white head. Intense and repulsive aroma of artificial mango and orange essence. The flavour has much of the same artificial essence, but is not as sweet as I feared. Sharpish bitter finish. Unbalanced and unpleasant - by far the worst beer I've had from Ægir. Drainpour. Do us a service, and bury this recipe! |
