6851 | Anker Bir Pilsener | Indonesia | Pale Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 2 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml can, as Anker Bir Pilsener ("Limited Edition" concerning the brewery’s 75th anniversary - I suppose the "limited edition" only affects the design of the can, not the beer inside.) A gift from my Indonesian-born sister-in-law. ABV is 4.9%. Very pale and crystal clear yellow colour, big head. Sweetish and slightly sickly "industrial" aroma, notes of grass and maize. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is bland with some sweetness and minimal bitterness, utterly boring. |

6852 | Grans Classic | Norway | Vienna / Amber Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml green bottle, from REMA 1000. ABV is 4.7%. Clear brown colour, decent off-white head. Unpleasant "industrial" rubbery aroma, some malts and caramel but also some of the sickly "boiled" notes (over-cooked vegetables, baby porridge) that you normally find in n/a beers. The flavour has some caramel, but is otherwise very bland and boring with minimal hops and a "dead" and slightly metallic finish. In a blind test I would probably have guessed that this was a "malty" variety in Ringnes’ n/a Munkholm range. Grans are obviously persistent in their aim to brew only beers that belong in the "soggy bottom" end of the Norwegian beer market. |

6853 | Dalane Brygghus Sterk Juletradisjon | Norway | Spiced Beer | 1.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Ingredients include wheat malts, honey and sugar. ABV is 7.6%. Hazy deep brown colour, moderate off-white head. Intense and unpleasant aroma of artificially flavoured sweets/candy, rotten fruits (incl. bananas) and monkey turd, hints of spices. The flavour is sugary sweet, again with notes of artificially flavoured candy, also oranges and anise - and, to be fair, some malts. Astonishingly bad. |

6854 | Hoegaarden Citrons | Belgium | Fruit Beer | 1.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 250 ml bottle, as Hoegaarden Citron, thanks to tarjei. ABV is 3.0%. Very pale straw coloured, slightly hazy, big to moderate white head. Aroma of lemon and lime (as expected), also more unpleasant notes of rotting fruits and vomit. The flavour is sugary sweet and citrussy, without the zesty freshness I hoped for (considering the beer had already had the misfortune of being diluted with this citrus stuff). Nope, this is not a beer for me. Drainpour. |

6855 | Grans Fri Alkoholfritt Øl | Norway | Reduced Alcohol | 1.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml green bottle, as Grans FRI Alkoholfritt ØL, from REMA 1000. Pale golden colour, big to moderate white head. Aroma of malts, baby porridge and cooked vegetables. Thin mouthfeel. The flavour has some malts and baby porridge again, minimal hops. Not quite as bad as some other n/a beers though, and not entirely undrinkable when cold. |

6856 | Kilimanjaro Premium Lager | Tanzania | Pale Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 4 Bottle, RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. ABV was 4.5%. Pale golden colour, moderate head. Sweetish aroma of grass, maize and ripe yellow apples. The flavour is slightly drier than the aroma makes you expect, moderate sweetness, some dry hops in the finish. |

6858 | Grans Lade Gaards Brygghus Pilsner | Norway | Pale Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 3 500 ml retro-style bottle, from REMA 1000. ABV is 4.7%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of cooked vegetables, hints of pilsener malts, honey and flowers. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour had some sweetish and "dusty" malts, hints of wet cardboard, unpleasant citric and slightly metallic finish. Hardly any bitterness. Utterly bland and boring, most of it went down the sink. Not a beer I’ll buy again - ever. An insult to any lover of fine beer. |

6859 | Singha | Thailand | Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 4 Another beer I bought just to get one more country rated! Pleasant aroma when you open the bottle, hardly any aroma in the glass. Very light colour. Flavour is not unpleasant, actually there is hardly any flavour at all. Aftertaste? What aftertaste? (Well, I had this beer with a fairly spicy pizza, but still...) With 6% alcohol and little or no taste, it's probably an OK beer if your intention is to get pissed as fast as possible in the Thailand heat. Down there I guess it will cost you something like 20 cents a bottle - buying it anywhere else is ridiculous. |

6860 | Tuborg Lys Grøn | Denmark | Reduced Alcohol | 1.8
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 This low ABV pale lager (known in Denmark as Tuborg Lys Grøn) is now retired. ABV was 2.6%. Carlsberg Let Pilsner is retired too, they have been replaced by Carlsberg Light. My comment was: Typical light / low alcohol pale beer. Are you sure you have to drive today? |

6861 | Kirin Lager | Japan | Pale Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 The bad thing about living in Norway is the price of beer. The good thing, however, is that those of us who live near the coast and have a small boat (yes, like me) can catch our own seafood - for free. Freshly caught crab was my chosen accompaniment with Kirin lager - a good choice, I believed, as the Japanese love seafood more than anyone else in the world. I'm sorry to say that most European pilseners / light lagers would have been a better choice than this one. There is very little aroma, the beer is dry (which is a good thing when you have it with seafood) but some more flavour would have been good too! - aftertaste is metallic. Surely the Japanese can do better than this?? |

6865 | Ceres Royal Red | Denmark | Fruit Beer | 1.8
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml bottle. Red colour, fizzy beer with a low head that soon vanishes. Very moderate fruity aroma (red berries). Very light bodied, THIN mouthfeel, flavour has some notes of red berries and blackcurrants. Sourish and artifical tasting, weak hops, no malty base. Did I mention THIN? This a poor beer in my book. I drank it cool, not cold, would probably be more refreshing if ice cold - couldn’t possibly have done any harm to the flavour in this case. |

6866 | Hansa Roséøl | Norway | Fruit Beer | 1.8
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml slimline can, from Coop Extra Sauda. ABV is 4.7%. Clear pink colour, moderate off-white to pink head. Aroma and flavour of a neutral pale lager diluted with water and splash of a bog standard rosé wine. No bitterness, bland as hell, needless to say I won't buy again. |

6867 | Birra del Borgo Lost Barrel | Italy | Imperial Stout | 1.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 2 Sept. 2020: 330 ml bottle, vintage 2014, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10%. Brewed with 7% balsamic vinegar. Black colour, no head. Aroma of roast malts, coffee, chocolate and balsamic vinegar. Hardly any carbonation. Terribly sweet and sour flavour, the balsamic vinegar overshadows all other qualities this lifeless beer otherwise might have. I feel like an idiot, having paid good money for this crap. Most of it went down the drain. |

6868 | Tuborg LITE Raspberry Twist | Norway | Light / Lite Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 500 ml can, from Rema 1000, Tau. ABV is 4.3%. Clear pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Artificial aroma of raspberries / raspberrydrops - no real raspberries have been added to this beer, that's for sure. Light bodied, as expected. More artificial raspberrydrops in the flavour, but not overly sweet. A hint of metallic hops in the finish. Another tick for me - otherwise utterly forgettable, and not something I'll buy again, ever. |

6869 | Eik & Tid Juleheliks | Norway | Wild Ale | 1.8
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 2 330 ml clear bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 7.2%. Reddish brown colour, large to moderate off-white head. Aroma of vinegar, lactic acid, sour berries, lemons and caraway. Very acidic flavour, lactic acid and vinegar galore, also lemons, berries and caraway. The extreme acidity makes it undrinkable for me. |

6870 | Albani Giraf 10% | Denmark | Strong Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 Sep. 2013: 500 ml can, from a 7-Eleven store in Copenhagen. ABV is 10%. Ingredients include glocose syrup and maize. Clear pale golden colour, large to moderate white head. Strong sweetish and sugary aroma of light syrup, grass and alcohol. Sweet and alcoholic flavour, sugary and unpleasant with some bittering hops in the finish. If I actually had finished the can, I would have considered rehab. |

6871 | Ægir Taco Fredag Mexican Lager | Norway | Pale Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 440 ml can, from SPAR Jørpeland. ABV is 4.7%. Slightly hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of malts and maize / sweet corn, some grassy notes, a hint of caramel. The flavour has also some sweetness, but not as much as the aroma made me fear. A surprisingly distinct and sharpish metallic bitterness follows the sweetness. Unbalanced, unharmonious - not a beer I'll buy again. |

Aroma of malts, grain, wort and baby porridge. The flavour has some sugar, and otherwise the same elements as the aroma. Only a hint of elderflowers. |

Aroma of dust, damp basement and wet cardboard. The flavour has some citrus, malts and metallic bittering hops, making the beer barely drinkable if you have to drive. |

Aroma of green apples, some citrus in the background. Weird and unbalanced flavour, a mess of apples, citrus, sugar, grain, dust and sharpish metallic hops. Not good at all. |
