Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Rerate, 330 ml bottle, harvest 2018, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Pale golden colour, pours sparkling with a large but shortlived head. Strong and distinct aroma of dessert apples. Light bodied. The flavour is medium dry, notes of apples and sulphites. No match for the Edel 12%, but okay. Original rating: On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Clear golden colour, small white head that soon disappears. Moderate carbonation. "Perfumed" aroma of sweet eating apples, a hint of oak. The flavour is better, nice and fresh flavour of apples, medium sweet. |

229 | Åkre Edel Fjellskål Sjømat Sider | Norway | Cider | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 750 ml bottle, vintage 2019, from the cidery (or possibly from Vinmonopolet Odda). ABV is 8%. Clear and very pale golden colour, pours sparkling with a large but shortlived white head. Aroma of slightly "spicy" apple varieties. Dry flavour, crisp and slightly "spicy" apples. I had it with pasta (not seafood), but it must be great with the seafood for which it is intended. |

231 | Åkre Edel Pære Pét-Nat | Norway | Cider | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 750 ml clear bottle, shared with my son, from the cidery. Information handwritten on the bottle. ABV is 5%. Colour nearly like water, only a weak greyish-greenish-yellowish hue. Pours moderately sparkling with a small and shortlived white head. Moderate aroma of pears, a hint of rubber. Dry flavour of pears, better than I feared. Drank it ice cold though. |

232 | Åkre Edel Pæresider (2021) | Norway | Cider | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Shared 750 ml bottle at Bryne tasting, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Very pale straw colour, sparkling. Aroma of pears. Flavour of pears, semi-dry. One-dimensional, needs more pear varieties (including sweet dessert pears and bitter perry pears) to obtain more complexity. |

233 | Åkre Edel Rosésider (4.7%) | Norway | Cider | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottle, vintage 2019-02, as Åkre Edel Rosésider med bringebær. Produced 07.07.20. I think I also saw bottles in another store where "med bringebær" was not part of the name, but I assume they just changed the label - there seems to be raspberries in all of them. ABV is 4.7%. From Coop Extra, Odda. Clear signal red colour, pours sparkling with an off-white pink-ish head. Distinct and pleasant aroma of raspberries and raspberry juice. The flavour is mid between sweet and dry, notes of apples and raspberries. Short finish. |

235 | Aktiebryggeriet Oslo Juleklassiker | Norway | Vienna / Amber Lager | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Christmas beer sampled in May(!). Reddish brown colour, head disappears quickly, lovely spicy aroma (to some degree reminiscent of a Belgian strong ale, but less complex), mouthfeel is rather thin, flavour dominated by spices and caramel sweetness. Acceptable aftertaste that could have lasted longer. Not a bad brew, but several other Norwegian strong version Christmas beers are better. |

236 | Alaskan Brewing Smoked Porter | United States | Smoked Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 650 ml bottle, 2012 vintage, kindly shared by abemorsten. Black colour, moderate tan head. Lovely and balanced aroma between the smoked and roast malts. Roasty and smokey flavour too, but here the notes of "smoked sausage" come through a bit too strong for my taste. |

237 | Alba Scots Pine Ale | United Kingdom | Scottish Ale | 2.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml bottle, bought at Real Foods, Edinburgh. ABV is 7.5%. Deep amber coloured beer, large off-white head. Unusual sweetish aroma, notes of over-ripe raspberries and pine needles, not very pleasant. The flavour is very sweet and alcoholic, piney and sugary notes. Unusual beer, but is it really good? I’m sorry, but this is not for me. |

238 | Albani Æble Pale Ale | Denmark | American Pale Ale | 1.8
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 2 500 ml can, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. ABV is 5.5%, IBU 25. Hazy orange to brown colour, large white head. Aroma of green apples, some citrus in the background. Weird and unbalanced flavour, a mess of apples, citrus, sugar, grain, dust and sharpish metallic hops. Not good at all. |

Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 Sep. 2013: 500 ml can, from a 7-Eleven store in Copenhagen. ABV is 10%. Ingredients include glocose syrup and maize. Clear pale golden colour, large to moderate white head. Strong sweetish and sugary aroma of light syrup, grass and alcohol. Sweet and alcoholic flavour, sugary and unpleasant with some bittering hops in the finish. If I actually had finished the can, I would have considered rehab. |

240 | Albani Giraf Beer (Domestic Danish version) | Denmark | Strong Lager | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 (Domestic Danish version). Brownish colour, moderate head. A quite acceptable strong Danish beer. Spicy, perfumed aroma and aftertaste. Flavour is malty, but also somewhat sweetish and alcoholic and may not be to everyone's taste. This is the standard strong beer in the Copenhagen Zoo restaurant, and after one or two of these + a shot of "Gammel Dansk Bitter" you are ready to face the REAL giraffes any time! |

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. Reddish brown colour, good lingering head and lacing. Very moderate aroma and flavour of malts and some caramel, pretty much on the soft and bland side but not offensive. Minimal bitterness, but not very sweet either. Easy drinking. No masterpiece, but not as bad as I feared. |

244 | Albani Odense Pilsner | Denmark | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 An average+ Danish pilsener. Nice summer beer. Nothing spectacular though. While Bryggerigruppen's beers are losing more and more of their local identity, the people of the island of Fyn (Funen) stick to their Albani Odense beers. Available elsewhere in Denmark too. |

249 | Alcazar Gaolers Ale | United Kingdom | Old Ale | 4.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 7.5%. Deep brown colour, large to moderate tan head. Vinous aroma, sherry, oak, raisins, dark fruits. Very rich, malty, sweet, fruity and vinous flavour. Robust and far from easy drinking - still very, very good! This must be a classic old ale - one to save for Christmas (after dinner). |
