76 Beau's All Natural Wild Oats Series No. 22: Vassar Canada Ale 3.0

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

550ml draught
6.7% ABV
C’est What? (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
December 7, 2012
$9.96
The beer pours a slightly hazed light gold with a white cap that quickly fades to a ring. The aroma is light fruits, grains, and yeast. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is grass and yeast, with some light fruity notes. Easy to drink, but not something I would try often.

77 Goodlot Farmstead Brewing Farmstead Ale Canada Ale 2.5

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5

473ml can
6.20% Abv
Best Before: January 22, 2019
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
November 18, 2018
$3.00
The beer pours a hazed orange-gold colour with a bubbly tan head that lingers for a couple of minutes before receding into a thin ring. The aroma is grains, herbal hops, and weak tropical fruit notes. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with below average carbonation. The flavour is nicely balanced between the grains and the hops, but both flavours are weak leaving this beer as flavoured water with a hint of alcohol. Quite disappointed.

78 Ommegang Game of Thrones Royal Reserve 003: Mother Of Dragons United States Ale 3.4

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 6

750ml bottle
6.60% ABV
Bottled On: October 31, 2018
Best Before: October 31, 2020
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
March 9, 2019
$13.80
The beer pours a slightly translucent coca-cola colour when held to a strong white light, with a huge frothy light tan coloured head which lasts a while. The aroma is quite complex as both the tart cherries, and burnt wood are prominent. There are hints of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee as well, but it is the tart cherries and wood that dominate. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, slightly creamy, and with above average carbonation. The flavour is both chocolatey and tart at the same time. There are also notes of roast and coffee in the mix. Looks good, smells good, feels good, but does not taste good. Nor am I a fan of the dark frosted bottle as I can’t see how much yeast was left on the bottom.

December 14, 2022
LCBO Outlet #649 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Sobey’s Plaza)
473ml can
4.5% ABV
Canned On: September 13, 2022
$4.16
The beer pours a translucent copper colour with a creamy off-white head which lasts and leaves good lacing. Effervescence is high. The aroma is grains, fresh bread, noblish hops, and aweak yeasty note. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is toasted grains, light hints of caramel, and a light hoppy finish. If I didn’t know any better, I would say that this beer is a Marzen / Oktoberfest. Whether it is, or isn’t….it’s a pretty good beer.
