1926 | Waterloo Brewing Signature Series: Apple Crumble Porter | Canada | Porter | 4.3
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8 October 3, 2022
Beer Store #2021 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Sobey’s Plaza)
473ml can
6.0% ABV
Canned On: August 24, 2022
$3.35
The beer pours an almost solid black colour with a creamy off-white head. The aroma is very much like an Apple Brown Betty with notes of oats, apples, and cinnamon to go along with roasted malt and dark chocolate. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is similar to the aroma with the cinnamon notes lingering on the tongue long after the beer is finished. |

1928 | Railway City Twice Checked | Canada | Porter | 3.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 7 473ml can
5.20% ABV
Canned On: November 6, 2018
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
November 12, 2018
$3.69
Only 6 days old, the freshest beer I’ve had from the LCBO in forever! The beer pours a coca-cola brown with a fluffy light brown cap which quickly devolves to a rocky film. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, cherries and anise. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, and average carbonation. The flavour is not very b itter for a porter with the sweetness of the cherries cutting through the bitterness of the roasted malt and coffee flavours. This is the best Railway City beer I’ve tried in years. |

1930 | Mad and Noisy Coconut Porter | Canada | Porter | 3.5
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 473ml can
5.6% ABV
Canned On: January 15, 2019
LCBO #010 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Summerhill)
February 9, 2019
$3.00
The beer pours a solid coca-cola colour when held up to a strong white light with a generous creamy light brown head which disappears quickly. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and vanilla with nary a whiff of coconut to be found. The mouthfeel is creamy, full bodied, and well carbonated. The flavour is sweeter than the aroma would indicate with notes of chocolate, molasses, and coconut balancing out the roasted malt and coffee flavours. Not a bad beer in the end. |

The aromas are roasted malt, chocolate, nuts, and light coffee hints. The mouthfeel is medium boed with average carbonation. The flavour was milk chocolate, roasted malt, and there were peppery spicy notes in the finish, but that may have been from my lunch. All in all a good beer. |

1935 | Double Trouble Pecan Pie Porter | Canada | Porter | 2.6
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 473ml can
5.60% ABV
Best Before: June 2, 2021
LCBO Outlet #649 (Milton, Ontario, Canada - Sobey's Plaza)
March 12, 2021
$3.00
The beer pours a coca-cola colour with a huge frothy brown head which lasts a while. The aroma is one dimensional with hints of roasted malt and coffee. The mouthfeel was medium to full bodied, undercarbonated, and both chalky and creamy. The flavour was as one-dimensional and the aroma with only bitter coffee and roasted malt coming through. For a simple porter, this was boring, yet very bitter. For a pecan Pie porter, this missed the mark completely as there was no pecan pie notes in either the aroma or flavour. |
