1601 | Flying Monkeys 12 Minutes to Destiny Hibiscus Pale Lager | Canada | Lager | 3.4
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 473ml can
5.0% ABV
Canned On: June 24, 2019
LCBO Outlet #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
October 28. 2019
$3.35
The beer pours a translucent copper colour with a bubbly head which doesn’t last very long. Lacing is erratic at best. The aroma is raspberry forward with hints of grass, hibiscus, and herbal hops in the background. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is kind of tart, in contrast to the sweet raspberry aroma. There are hints of biscuit malt and hibiscus followed by a light bitter finish. |

The beer pours a translucent very pale gold colour with a short lived white bubbly head and plenty of effervescence. The aroma is grains, musty hops, and light yeast. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grains, some yeast, a weak light fruit note, and a mild bitter finish. It’s not very good at all. |

1615 | Brooklyn Lager | United States | Lager | 4.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8 355ml bottle
5.0% ABV
I tried this beer on February 26, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario. The beer poured a dark translucent amber colour with a white head which disappates to permanent lacing. The aroma was slightly malty, but had an unmistakable floral hoppiness that was a prelude of good things to come. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour had some hints of malt, but was very hoppy, with some grapefruit like bitterness in the finish. A very good beer. |

The aroma was mainly grainy malts with nothing else. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with ample carbonation. The flavour was similar to the aroma in that it was very malty with very little other discernable flavours. This beer is readily available in Canada, but is simply an average brew at best. Not something I would consider buying again |
