The aroma was weak biscuit malt and citrus. Not much else could be discerned. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was caramel malt, tangerine/orange, and some grains thrown in for good measure. Quite enjoyable. |

1527 | Signal Brewing Wave New England Style IPA | Canada | IPA | 3.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 400ml draught
6.1% ABV
Craft (Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
October 4, 2018
$7.50
The beer poured a cloudy metallic goal with a thin white film standing in for a head. Tropical fruit aromas are very strong here with notes of grass and hops rounding out the nose. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour starts out sweet with tropical fruit aromas, and finishes with a crisp hop presence. An enjoyable beer. |

1528 | Mill Street Capelin Hound Session IPA | Canada | IPA | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 355ml bottle
4.20% ABV
Bottled On: May 2, 2018
Main / Bronte LCBO Outlet (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
October 6, 2018
$2.49
The beer pours a hazed golden orange colour with planty of bubbles clinging to the side of the glass and a quarter inch creamy off-white head which lasts a few minutes. The aroma is passion fruit and citrus with some grainy malt and herbal hops as well. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. A surprising hearty body for a session IPA. The flavour is a downer however, the fruity and citrus notes found in the aroma are very weak on the tongue with the grassy notes dominating the flavour. A decent beer nonetheless. |

1529 | Collective Arts Life In The Clouds | Canada | IPA | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 473ml can
6.1% ABV
Canned On: August 16, 2018
Main / Bronte LCBO Outlet (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
October 6, 2018
$3.55
The beer pours a cloudy light gold colour with a frothy white head which lasts a while after receding to a rocky film. The aroma is heavy on the tropical fruit with notes of passion fruit and mango certainly present. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is like the aroma with a heavy emphasis on the tropical fruit flavours and the grains and the bitter hop finish almost an afterthought. |

1530 | Mill Street West Coast Style IPA | Canada | IPA | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 473ml can
6.60% ABV
Canned On: July 6, 2018
Main / Bronte LCBO Outlet (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
October 12, 2018
$3.25
The beer pours a hazy creamy yellow colour with a huge generous off-white rocky head which lasts a few minutes. The aroma is pineapple, mango, and orange with some grassy notes thrown in to make it beery. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is dominated by the pineapple flavours with hints of other citrus fruits such as orange and passion fruit in the mix. A very flavourful beer, but more of what I associate with Australian and New Zealand hops and not what I associate with the American west coast (I love grapefruity west coast IPAs) |

The aroma is old-school citrusy grapefruit with grains, and some musty hoppy tones. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is similar to the aroma with hints of a more tropical fruit profile like passion fruit and mango. The bitterness in the finish is not readily apparent but lingers. |

1533 | Innocente Inn O’Slainte | Canada | Irish Ale | 3.2
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 473ml can
5.2% ABV
Canned On: March 6, 2019
LCBO #010 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Summerhill)
May 14, 2019
$3.20
The beer pours a translucent cherry red colour with a white film for a head. The aroma is light caramel, toasted nuts, and eathy hops. Not a lot of depth in the aroma. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is similar to the aroma…nutty caramel up front, and a bitter hop finish. More of an amber ale than an Irish red. |

1534 | Moosehead Small Batch 0008: Irish Red Ale | Canada | Irish Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 473ml can
4.8% ABV
Canned On: August 8, 2019
LCBO Outlet #0457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Yonge / Eglinton)
January 16, 2020
$3.10
The beer pours a translucent copper colour with a generous foamy off-white head which lasts quite a while and provides some decent lacing. The aroma is caramel, grass, yeast, and herbal hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The dominant flavour is definitely the caramel with some hints of molasses, grass, and a nice bitter hoppy finish that lingers on the back of the tongue for a minute or two. The caramel and molasses sweetness is nicely balanced by the finishing bitterness. |

1538 | Smithwick's Irish Ale | Ireland | Irish Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 June 1, 1990
Woolwich Arms, The (Guelph, Ontario, Canada – 176 Woolwich Street)
500ml bottle
5.00%
$4.70
After going almost 20 years without sampling this, I recently tried it on tap at a local Toronto eatery and found it to be an alright brew. The colour was a translucent brownish-red colour, with an off-white head that didn't stay long. The aroma was slightly malty and sweet but weak. The flavour was slightly malty at the start but became better as I got closer to the bottom. Like other ales I have tried it was thick on the tongue with little carbonation. This is one of those brews that when provided a list on tap...if I've previously tried them all.....ocassionally I'll pick this one. |

This beer has a darker colour than I normally like (I prefer golden nectars) and a weak aroma. It went down very smooth however. It felt thick in the mouth, very little carbonation. The flavour was alright, very malty.
March 3, 2008
LCBO Outlet #255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
440ml can
4.30% ABV
Now that I am several months into my beer hobby, I have decided to re-rate some beers that I didn't care for the first time around. The beer poured a beautiful translucent red colour with a thick creamy off-white head. The aroma is still very weak with no discernable odours. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and creamy. The flavour was roasted malt, a little nutty, and a little subtle hoppiness on the back of the tongue. This beer goes down very smoothly (as do a lot of British beers). |

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 20oz draught
4.20% ABV
McCabe's Irish Pub (Guelph, Ontario, Canada)
March 15, 2008
The beer was a nice translucent orange/gold colour with a thick, creamy white head that lasted throughout the experience. The aroma was primarily malt with a slight hoppish hint. The mouthfeel was thick, and creamy, with very light carbonation. When taking into account the lack of carbonation, the flavour was nothing more than malted water. One could easily drink 5-6 of these as they go down easy................on this day, one was enough for me. |
