506 | St. Peter's G-Free | United Kingdom | Blonde Ale | 2.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500ml bottle
4.2% ABV
King/Spadina LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
May 2, 2013
The beer pours a very translucent reddish gold with absolutely no head. The aroma is citrus, hops, grains, and spices. The mouthfeel is weak bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is spicy, almost gingery, with some hops and earthiness. Aside from the lack of head and weak body, it was an easy drinking beer. I wouldn't want more than a couple at a sitting hour as the gingeriness would get to me. I have to agree with slowrunner77 however as I can get Chimay Blue for less money (and it tastes a LOT better). |

508 | Whistler Paradise Valley Grapefruit Ale | Canada | Blonde Ale | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 November 2, 2013
LCBO Outlet #483B (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Royal Bank Plaza)
330ml bottle
5.0% Abv
$2.24
Part of a BC Breweries Discovery Pack at the LCBO. The beer pours a hazed gold colour, with a very thin white soapy head, despite a vigourous pour. Aroma is caramel, weak grapefruit, and grass. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is caramel, weak citrus, weak molasses, and grass. If I was blindfolded while tasting this....I would have sworn it was a very thin Scotch Ale....that's how much I notice the molasses taste. |

514 | Holsten Maibock | Germany | Bock | 2.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 500ml can
7.0% ABV
Milton LCBO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
March 18, 2008
The beer poured a translucent orangy-gold colour with a generous white fluffy head that disappeared quite quickly. The aroma was very grassy with very little other discernable aromas. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, ample carbonation, with a little bitterness. The flavour was again a lot of grass with a little bit of hoppy bitterness. When it comes to Holsten brews, this is not as good as the Festbock, but better than the Premium. |
