The beer poured a coca-cola brown colour with a thin tan creamy head into the Unibroue tulip. The aroma was dark fruit, molasses, roasted malt, and sugar. The mouthfeel was full bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was blackberries, molasses, some applish and anise notes. Alcohol was completely hidden. A great beer. |

Plenty of effervescence to keep the head alive. Aroma is dark malt, sugar, plums, and licorice. Definitely a very sweet nose. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with plenty of carbonation. The flavour is sweet malt, dark fruit, yeast (and lots of it), some anise, and a bit of peppery spice. Not as good as the 12, but an outstanding beer all the same. |

The aroma was earthy and yeasty with some citrusy hints in the mix. The mouthfeel was very light, and highly carbonated. The flavour was very malty and yeasty. No hint of alcohol in the taste, but I felt it in the head. Being 11.5%, I was expecting a far sweeter taste but was pleasantly surprised.
