278 | Mill Street Don Valley Bench Estates Ale | Canada | American Wheat | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 355ml bottle
5.0% ABV
Milton LCBO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
May 17, 2013
Lawnmower beer #3. The beer pours a hazed golden yellow colour with a thin white ring of a head, yet a thinner smaller ring than the shandy produced. The aroma is light wheat, grains, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with slightly above average carbonation. The flavour has a light fruity sweetness to it with a dose of wheat and grass. The extra carbonation does come as a surprise at first. A one and done beer at best. |

This is very similar to a dunkelweizen, except North American wheat yeast was used. |

The aroma was sweet malt and light fruits, although it was more apricot like than pomegranate. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium-high carbonation. The flavour was sweet malt with a tang. A bit over the top flavour wise as it was more of a zing than anything. |

286 | Wellington Silver Wheat Ale | Canada | American Wheat | 1.7
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 March 9, 2011
LCBO Outlet #217 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Queen’s Quay)
473ml can
4.0% ABV
$2.95
The beer poured a slightly hazy gold colour with a thin white ring. The aroma was grainy malt...not very wheat like. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour has a little hint of wheat but aside from that tastes like most Canadian pale lagers....i.e. not very good. I hate to say it, but the Trailhead Lager tastes better. |

287 | Big Rock Grasshopper Wheat Ale | Canada | American Wheat | 2.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 August 7, 1997
Gift
341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
$0.00
A beer for a summer vacation, and one of the earliest 'craft' beers I tried. This beer had an aroma that reminded more of rye than wheat. It was a nice golden colour when poured. It is smooth to the tongue and is smooth tasting. I would certainly recommend this beer to somebody wanting to try a decent wheat beer without paying through the nose. |

289 | Kawartha Lakes Brewing (KLB) Raspberry Wheat | Canada | American Wheat | 2.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 August 7, 2007
Smokeless Joe’s (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – 125 John Street)
592ml draught
4.50% ABV
Kegged On: Unknown
$6.75
The beer was a beautiful translucent red that reminded me of a Paulaner Salvator with very little head. The aroma was light on malt with a hint of raspberry. The mouthfeel was very weak...watery and no carbonation. The flavour was a combination of raspberry and coffee. The scary part of this beer is that after taking my notes from the first taste and writing them down..........the last 2/3 of the beer went down in maybe 5 seconds. This beer was WEAK. . |
