226 | Wellington Ice Eater | Canada | American Pale Ale | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 January 16, 2019
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
355ml bottle
5.20% ABV
Best Before: March 13, 2019
$2.74
The beer pours a slightly hazed metallic gold colour with a thin white bubble cap that slowly recedes to a film. The aroma is musty grains, light citrus fruit, and some ‘milky stock ale’ notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grass, some light grapefruit notes, and a decent bitter finish. Nothing really to complain about with this beer, a solid effort by the Guelph boys! |

227 | Manitoulin Bridal Veil Pale Ale | Canada | American Pale Ale | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 473ml can
5.0% ABV
Canned On: October 15, 2018
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
February 6, 2019
$3.10
The beer pours a slightly hazy pale rust colour with a generous foamy off-white head. The aroma is toasted malt, light caramel, weak citrus, and bread. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour leans heavily towards citrus peel, particularly grapefruit and orange, which isn’t my cup of tea. There are hints of herbal hops and caramel as the beer warms up a little, but the citrus peel lingers. |

The aroma is pine, grapefruity hops, biscuit grains and light spice notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is reminiscent of a solid American west coast IPA pre-2012 with notes of pine, caramel, and grapefruit finished with a bitter hop bite. Quite good when given the abundance of tropical fruit IPAs these days. |
