April 7, 2022
Brewed in Canada by Labatt Brewing Company
473ml can
5.0% ABV
Canned On: March 14, 2022
LCBO Outlet #649 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Sobey’s Plaza)
$2.70
A more experienced beer reviewer’s review! The beer pours a very pale straw colour with a bubbly white head which disappeared in mere seconds. Considering it was canned less than a month ago, that surprises me. There was no lacing. The aroma is grains and herbal hops. Not much else. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grass and rice. I can actually taste the rice! I didn’t like this beer the first couple of times I tried it (the Labatt version in 1987 and the American version in 1992), and it won’t be a regular for me, but it really isn’t all that bad. I can see why billions and billions drink it. Score adjusted up to 1.9

Original Review
341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
Guelph, Ontario, Canada
January 21, 1987 (Canadian Version) / August 16, 1992 (American version)
I have had two versions of this beer, the Anheuser-Busch brewed version in the bars of Memphis, Tennessee, and the "brewed in Canada by Labatt under license...." I'll take the Canadian version hands down. Sadly, the Canadian version sucks too. For a beer that is as heavily advertised as it is, and sells as much as it does, the rating here says it all. This is America's finest pisswater (Labatt Blue is Canada's finest pisswater). It amazes me when I go out with friends, there is always one who orders Bud. Take a gamble people, try one of the beers on tap you've never heard of....they're great (with all due respect to Tony the Tiger). This is one of those beers I will go out of my way to avoid. Having it in your fridge is a great way to get taken off my Christmas card list!

2339 Partake Pale Ale Canada Reduced Alcohol 1.9

Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3

355ml can
0.3% ABV
Canned On: September 20, 2018
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
January 16, 2019
$2.00
The beer pours a translucent medium gold colour with a huge white head which quickly disappears into a fine film covering the surface. The aroma has citrusy hop notes, grassy notes, and some salty notes. The mouthfeel is very thin with below average carbonation. The flavour is weak grains with hints of wet cardboard and a weak bitter finish. There is also a doughy note that comes through in both the aroma and flavour in a strong way. There are beers on this site that taste worse than this, so I will give it credit from that standpoint, but this is not a good beer unless rated to style

330ml bottle
0.40% ABV
Best Before: May 13, 2020
LCBO Outlet #649 (Milton, Ontario, Canada - Sobey's Plaza)
March 30, 2020
$2.75
The beer pours a very hazy medium gold colour with a lot of effervescence, but only a few filmy islands for a cap. The aroma is grains, citrus, and yeast. I can't place the grains, but they aren't the wheat or barley listed on the bottle. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with below average carbonation. The flavour is very reminiscent of a weak iced tea. It isn't very beery at all.

2341 Waterloo Brewing Radler (Pineapple) Canada Fruit Beer 1.9

Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4

May 26, 2020
LCBO Outlet #649 (Milton, Ontario, Canada - Sobey's Plaza)
473ml can
2.5% ABV
Canned On: January 28, 2020
$2.85
The beer pours a translucent pale yellow, and I can’t emphasize the word ‘pale’ enough. Quite a bit of effervescence, yet no real head, just a white film. The aroma is pineapple, pineapple, and more pineapple. The mouthfeel is thin and carbonation is high. The main thing you taste is pineapple, but there are some hints of grains on the back end. This is more of a pineapple soda with alcohol than a radler and would get a better score if it was marketed as such.

That is the best way to describe this radler. Quite a lot of effervescence leading to a thin white ring for a head. Aroma is earthy grains, tart fruit, and sugary milk. The mouthfeel is thin bodied, almost spritzy, with above average carbonation. The flavour is milky and fruity all at the same time. Not an enjoyable radler by any stretch.

550ml draught
6.8% AV
I tried this beer on May 18, 2012 at "C'est What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent dark amber colour with a thin off-white head. The aroma was whiskey and metal. The mouthfeel was thin with medium carbonation. The flavour was very reminiscent of watered down Canadian Club. This is easily the worst tasting beer I have ever tried.

473ml can
4.5% ABV
Milton LBCO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
May 17, 2013
Lawnmower beer #1. The beer pours a slightly hazed light gold colour with a very thin white ring for a head. The aroma is malted grains and a weak hint of lemon. The mouthfeel is light bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour was a like a weak lemon soda pop. Lager crispness but no lager flavour. Not very good at all.

September 8, 1988
Gift
355ml bottle
4.2% ABV
$0.00
Version: Coors Light brewed by Molson Breweries of Canada
This is my favourite American light beer, although that isn't saying much as I don't like light beer in general. The Silver bullet pours a pale yellow colour with little or no head. What aroma there is, is very weak in nature making it difficult to classify. The taste is beer-like witrh a weak aftertaste. The mouthfeel is watery with some hints of carbonation. Not a great tasting beer, but, better than Budweiser and Coors.

October 24, 1999
Don Cherry’s Restaurant (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
341ml bottle
4.6% ABV
$2.60
To me, this is the definition of beer coloured and beer flavoured water. The aroma is very weak. The colour I've only seen before in toilets. And the taste is watery. Like Budweiser, it amazes me how many people order this beer instead of the multitude of great tasting treats in Canadian bars.

Aroma? What aroma? I seriously thought I was smelling water. The mouthfeel was crisp and clean with quite a bit of carbonation. The taste was weak and thin-bodied. I followed it up with a Keith’s Red....and that was a mistake in and of itself.
