2201 Railway City Orange CreamsicAle Canada Cream Ale 2.4

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4

473ml can
4.8% ABV
Canned On: February 28, 2019
LCBO #010 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Summerhill)
Gift
The beer pours a hazed orange gold colour with a thin white film for a head. There appears to be pulp in the film. The aroma is grains, light yeast, oranges, and weak spicy hops. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is watered down orange juice with some alcohol in the mix. This is nothing like the CreamSicles I enjoyed as a kid. I am very disappointed.

2204 Black Creek Lemon Balm Pale Ale Canada English Pale Ale 2.4

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4

500ml bottle
5.0% ABV
Main/Bronte LCBO Outlet (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
July 17, 2014
$3.95
The beer pours a slightly hazed golden-red colour with a thin off-white coloured head. The aroma was fresh bread, toffee, and herbs....but nothing citrusy. The mouthfeel was light to medium bodied with less than average carbonation. The flavour was awful...to put it mildly. Hints of caramel at the start, followed by notes of dirty water, with a bitter metallic finish. No lemon in the taste for me either. Not one to buy again.

The aroma is grains, caramel, floral hops and dishsoap. The mouthfeel is weak to medium bodied with average carbonation. May 25, 2015
LCBO Outlet #255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
473ml can
3.1% ABV
$2.45
The radler pours a hazy pinkish-gold colour with a large foamy white head that disappeared quickly to nothing leaving a flat-looking liquid. The aroma is grapefruit and lemonade. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is sweet acidic notes and grapefruit. The acidic notes kill the sessionability.

July 1, 1992
Gift
341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
$0.00
At best this is an average beer with an average look and taste. I’ve heard it was much better before interprovincial barriers caused the mass production. It is not a beer that I would go out of my way to buy, but if it is all that is available, it can be quite refreshing. It pours a golden yellow colour that is very clear. The aroma is grainy with some yeasty aftersmells. The mouthfeel is crisp and clear as a lager should be, some mild carbonation on the tongue. The taste is bland and non-descript with some hints of malt and grass.

The aroma was nothing spectacular, slightly malty but long lasting. Like other ales I have tried it was slightly thick on the tongue with weak carbonation. The flavour was mild, not strong, not bitter as I had expected

June 15, 1990
Woolwich Arms, The (Guelph, Ontario, Canada – 176 Woolwich Street)
592ml draught
4.70%
$4.70
This beer pours a dark brown colour into the glass with not a lot of head. The aroma is not all that strong which surprised me given the strong colouration. The taste had a sugary tinge to it that made the beer unpleasant to me. This is not a beer that I will try again in the near future.

June 25, 2007
Smokeless Joe’s (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
330ml bottle
5.2% ABV
Bottled On: Unknown
$5.90
This was poured by the waitress into a Unibroue glass. It poured very clear with little head. When held up against the light it was a very pale yellow. The aroma was weak with some floral hints. It was very harsh on the tongue with a fair bit of carbonation. The taste was very bitter which surprised me from a pale lager. Not a beer I will try again anytime soon.

The beer smoothly into the glass with a nice light gold colour, clear, with a thin head. The aroma is faint, but malty. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with some mild carbonation. The taste is more hops than malt and has a slightly bitter finish. Overall, a decent beer that I may try again but I prefer the lager.
